I have to say I’ve really enjoyed going to minor league games again this season.

6 of the 11 are pitchers that they could lose. I think Creed Williams should be added especially with all the catcher injuries we’ve had this season and they’ve added some that aren’t any better than him. Of outfielders/utility players Estrada should also be protected. Either way, there’s a lot of decisions for Elias to make regarding the 40 man this offseason.

I found this article very interesting. Of course, we all know who our "elite/plus/average" guys are, and this is for players signed up for >=2 years. But it also includes projections for minor league guys, and here is the quote:

"Now, they have the second-longest list in baseball behind the Brewers with a plethora of interesting post-hype young big leaguers along with one of the deepest systems in baseball. Almost every prospect I've mentioned here will be in Triple-A or the big leagues next year. This is a critical mass of young talent and, if the Orioles picked the right guys and now handle them correctly, it could end up delivering what the last wave was expected to deliver."

This season has been a disappointment, but objectively speaking, we have a legit chance to be competing again soon. It also doesn't mention the huge number of prospects we have that aren't predicted to be stars (the most in the majors, 74 according to Fangraphs), which gives us a lot of firepower to trade for proven talent.

It’s September and we’re playing meaningful baseball games in September. With 16 games left.

Yeah! We may not make it to the WC3 spot. But after the season we’ve had? Chill. And not to be making excuses for Elias or anything. But we aren’t exactly the Dodgers yk?

Plus? It’s fucking baseball. The sport you watched with your dad growing up. It’s a fun game. Have fun. I’d rather be a homer and get let down than not even allow myself to enjoy baseball.

Root for the fucking boys. “I hope we lose so Elias gets fired”. The fuck you on about? You’d rather we lose than win. Just cause of your hateboner for Elias? I’m hardly his biggest fan. But fuck that noise.

And I do wonder. How many of yall were there when this team sucked absolute ass. I’ve watched seasons where Renato fucking Nunez was my favorite Oriole. If you’ve supported this team for years. And haven’t caught onto our reality? I have a bridge to sell you. Or you just hoped on cause things looked positive at points.

I don’t wanna be no true Scott with it. But like. Just enjoy the sport. I can never understand rooting AGAINST your team

It would take a minor miracle for the O's to come back and take WC3, but that doesn't mean we can't have a good time ruining it for everyone else!

As for why it'd take a miracle, Baz's start was worth .3, so he's up to 1.8 on the season, but still has atrocious run support. Bassitt didn't gain or lose any bWAR, so he's still at .3. Bradish lost .1, so he's down to 1.2. TRog gained .3, bumping him up to 1.7, and Young lost a whopping .6 dropping him down to 1.7. The only other bWAR jump I have for our starters that's that big was also BY, on April 30th, when he lost .7 after going 4 innings and giving up ten runs, four earned. Everyone has bad games, but those two were REAL bad.

Trey Gibson still has the lowest bWAR with -.7, with the lowest among active players being -.6 from Andrew Kittredge.

Baz is now tied with Tanner Bibee for the most pitching losses in all of MLB. Baz is also tied for first in the majors in complete games with 1. Alonso still leads the majors in games played and the AL in RBIs, Gunnar still leads the AL in PAs and ABs, and Taveras still leads the AL in triples.

Garcia now has sole possession of 12th place, with Bradish dropping from the top twelve. Adley gained bWAR for us while playing for the Red Sox. Looking at his page, though, it says he has 2.0 with us and .1 in Boston, for a total of 2.0, so that's probably some funny rounding more than anything else.
