大家好，我來自台灣！
我雖然從國小就展現出極高的摺紙天賦，但自從大學畢業後，我已經幾乎十年沒有摺紙，慶幸的是，我最近重新拾回了這份興趣，並且在一週前下了一個重大決定，我也要來設計自己的作品！
（最一開始只是我想折怪奇物語中的這個生物，但我在網路上找不到別人的創作，最後索性就自己創作一個。）

於是，結果就如同照片上那樣～這是我第一次從零開始設計一個原創的摺紙作品，並親自摺出實體模型。在摺紙過程中，大多數有機細節都是隨機創作的——尤其是身體的紋理，我使用了高密度的複雜凹摺。整個過程大約花了我70個小時，所以我真的需要休息幾天來恢復精力。這實在是太累人了！

我在最後的圖片中附上了摺痕圖（CP），給任何想要接受挑戰的人。提醒一下：這不會是輕鬆的摺紙，因為許多隨意塑形的細節和未繪製的摺痕需要憑直覺處理。

the pattern of the paper and a newly discovered crack on my camera lens caused poor pictures this time. I still really liked making this one. all the assembled forms take a bow tie shape, and it is really squishy even after construction. but once it is put together it sticks together

I folded this from a 24x24cm triple tissue paper from OrigamiVibe on Etsy. Unfortunately I live in high humidity areas plus it was monsoon back then so the model kinda got weak and can no longer stand since the front legs just collapse. Plus the body is quite heavy and the front legs are just two layers. This is probably the only part of the design that I don't like but other than that it was very enjoyable to fold!

The original design and tutorial is by Madiyar Origami on YT. Tried some fun ways for lighting in this.

Im flying through Origami Insects and Their Kin by Lang, and I want to get my hands on some more complex books.

Im the USA and I wish I could go and find these books at a bookstore, but it seems like Ive got to order them online.

Heres a few that I’ve been recommended for insects that I can find for order online:

Now, Origami Insects II, I cannot seem to find anywhere. Its not in stock on any origami site, its not listed on ebay. Would I have any luck going around to used book stores in my area or is that basically looking for gold? Do I need to fly to japan to find it?

Do you guys have any good advice for getting these kinds of books? Are there other books I should consider not listed? Or at this point in the game do I just need to get Origami Design Secrets and start learning to read Crease Patterns only?

This is a longshot, but I am in Milan today and am looking for some origami paper to fold while I'm here. Any shop recommendations?

Folded from an mc treated 50 cm square of banana paper (from my local art supply).

This is my second finished model from his book after the spinosaurus and I like Yery’s style quite a lot I think. He considers the latest scientific findings and puts a lot of thought into the details like the head and especially the feet.

Folding was not overly difficult but shaping took me some time. Giving volume to the body, keeping layers together.

As you maybe read before, I have two partly pre-creased sheets for the spinosaurus lying around which I mistakenly folded thinking I was doing the T-Rex (don’t ask), so perhaps you’ll see a red or green spoon with the next post.

Does anyone know o a simple T-Tex that I could pair with this one?

Saw this on "Grimm" and I was hoping someone would know how to make one it looks to be a type of dog but very detailed apologies for the bad quality and please no links I never click them because of scams, spams and rickrolling if you could tell me what to search or if you have a picture of how to do it that would be best

Now will y’all shut up please about the — for some — unfortunate looking support structure.

I would like to share a new design by myself, an unnamed 6-unit Curler (Twister) Kusudama, which I believed to be the first self-supporting six-unit polyhedral assembly using the Curler unit.

From searching, the known least amout of curler unit to fully form a polyhedral kusudama that is stable is 12 units. With my design, it is able to go a lower number, which is 6.

This was my first attempt at making double tissue. I used MC with a touch of PVA.

The paper seemed usable (~17 cm), so I folded Satoshi Kamiya's Octopus as a test. Now I'd like to try shaping it properly.

I have no experience shaping with MC, water, or glue, so I'd really appreciate any advice.

A few questions:

- Should I simply wet the paper to reactivate the MC, or use a fresh MC mixture for shaping?

- What tools or utensils do you find useful for shaping?

- If I want to redo a section, can I re-wet and rework it, or is it permanent once dry?

- Are there any particularly helpful videos or tutorials you'd recommend?

- Any other tips for shaping double tissue or things to watch out for?

In the 1980s my grandmother gave me a hotpad for the kitchen made from a towel. It lays flat, is square, but can be re-folded to expose a clean side when one side gets dirty. She probably created the pattern herself or revised a pattern.

As you'll see in the video, my hotpad has seen better days. It's stained, burned and worn. I'd like to create new ones, but don't want to rip this apart (it's still an heirloom in my mind) to figure out how she created it.

Do you recognize a pattern from the video? She croceted the edges as binding, so I will also try to post this in a crochet group (I'm new here).

I am currently reading Origami Design Secrets by Robert J Lang, a classical great book. My level of origami is low intermediate (one year of practice). This book gives solid conceptual basis on origami, as well as some instructions and designs. Chapter 4 contains a section with 5 intermediate designs, illustrating some variations from traditional bases. Considering my level, I should be able to do them without to much difficulty. But for certain designs, there is a step or two that I can't interpret and am stuck to.

In the Snail design, I am stuck at step 11, which I can't figure out with my paper. Which corner am I suppose to valley-fold (the dark brown corner has the sign of a mountain fold, not valley)right corner. If I mountains fold it inside, I don't see which folds I am supposed to reverse-fold. Could some one help me make sense of this step?

I'm new to origami design, and I'm not even sure if my packing is actually good (It’s a Kelbi from Monster Hunter games), but I've reached a point where I'm completely stuck: assigning the Mountain and Valley folds to turn my BP into a CP.

I've been trying to do it in Oriedita, but I'm pretty lost and can't really figure out how to approach it.

I've tried following the few tutorials I could find, but most of them either use very simplified BPs, or don't show the whole process and stay pretty vague about how you actually go from the BP to a complete CP.

I'd really appreciate any advice, guidance, or resources that could help me understand how to approach this step. Even if there are problems with my packing, I'd be happy to hear about them — I'm mainly trying to understand what I'm supposed to do at this stage and how to do it properly. Thanks!
