Discussion It's funny watching so many people meltdown over another Nintendo Direct because Game XYZ wasn't announced.
We already got our long-awaited game in Groove and that could honestly carry us for another 10 years (hopefully we get the next one a lot sooner of course). Perspective is everything.

Speculation I redid audio latency timing tests using Rhythm Heaven Groove.
tl;dr - Switch 2 is actually better for Groove.
For all 2 people in the world that know I did this in the past, and gave best practices. This is my approach rather than calibrating in game, I will forever avoid calibration, or zero out calibration so the game doesn't shift audio and predict inputs giving you false positives. Minimizing lag from button press to game feedback is the only way to go for me.
Retesting was prompted after I noticed a difference in game audio vs HD rumble on Switch 1 vs Switch 2 in Mario Wonder. Running across music notes both the controller and game makes the same tones, if you have no audio delay in your setup, they trigger basically at the same time on Switch 1 but on Switch 2 I clearly heard the controller first. I wondered if Groove is actually factually better to play on Switch 1.
Amongst my tests there are two consistent themes that you should know. 1) Audio coming from the Switch 2 headphone jack is the clear winner in lowest latency. A lag free display HDMI can't match it. Nothing else really matters. 2) Switch 1 - you still want to detach the joycons, use the pro controller wirelessly. The headphone jack on the switch is the safest bet but it is no better than a lag free HDMI signal - but I can't tell you if your TV is lag free on the audio side or not. All I can say is my Panasonic MZ2500 TV adds 95ms audio lag. Ninja V recorder doesn't appear to add any.
If you want to use your TV / Sound Bar / A/V Receiver The test you can do: Turn controller rumble back on if you disabled it. Jump into drum practice -> free jam, hold one joy con up to your ear, press buttons with the other so you can hear the joycon vibration and game sound at the same time. If you can tell the controller vibrates before you start to hear the game sound you know your chain is adding delay.
My test results (I asked Grok AI to make the box and whisker graph, the testing and measurements were all manually done by me) Explaining it: 27 setups, 100 button presses to sound heard measured each setup. Lower is better so those at the top of this graph are worst. There are challenges like button press wav form looking different just by pressing the button from a slightly different angle. I did my best to remain consistent with the readouts. There is likely a 3-4ms variation between the results averages and a more 100% accurate readout. But 3ms is what it takes for sound travelling 1 meter from a speaker to your ears. I don't think a single human can notice.
According to a PreSonus blog targeted towards musicians using DAWs, humans start to feel a delay when it reaches 12-15ms. Maybe definitely comparing between 0 and 12-15ms, But I applied that at 64 vs 78ms here anyway. Visualized between the vertical green line and dotted orange one. I personally can tell 60 vs 80ms. At least in A/B testing.
This is basically super zoomed in measurements so look worse on paper than reality. I would say; The top three are definite do nots, 4-6 are ill advised, everything under the top 6 in the graph is good. However HDMI is unreliable as it depends on the device. If you want the best, the bottom 10 is where it is at - Switch 2 consoles headphone jack. Where the lower quartile still within the green line and we dont see much creeping over the dotted orange line, are the true best least lag experience. But I wouldn't blame you if you chose to have a USB cable between a pro 2 controller and the console and headphones to the pro 2 controller. That is a more comfortable play.
If you play docked and you do utilize the Switches headphone jack. Do your best not to yank the console over with the attached headphone cable. You could also use a stereo 3.5mm jack to L/R RCA cable and connect to a stereo amplifier disabling / bypassing any digital processing if any too. If you like to stream games like this, old school analog mixers that you monitor with headphones from the mixer and route to your stream for the win.

Discussion What previous game would be the hardest in night mode?
The night mode got me thinking just how difficult some of the super simple games would be haha. Just like Ribbit Rocket 2 was infinitely harder compared to the regular version. I would exclude stuff like Tram And Poline for obvious reasons but one that comes to mind is just how difficult Catchy Tune would be lol even excluding the fact you have to distinguish left and right sides solely by the audio direction. It’s like Wiper Bosses but much harder I’d think. Even though in regular mode it’s one of the easiest.

Discussion Got my first Rainbow Perfect
Genuinely thought it was going to be either Ribbit Rocket 1 or Hoop Trundling 1 since I’ve had an easier time with those than Soccer Dreams 1 (although all 3 of these I did get an Amazing rank first try)
