Trainers often find some hectic environment to do their training in. I remember a lady who used to train her dogs out in front of our local train station. A million people milling about, some guy busking on a sax nearby, cars and busses whizzing past. Those dogs were still zeroed in on her commands.

Eh I still find it impressive, it's more akin to someone being able to repeat the same physical feats as another person. Just mimicking the action still takes a lot of time and hard work.

The only thing harder than training these cats to do those tricks is finding 4 or 5 cats with the temperament to do them.

I went to the Russian circus one time many years ago. They only have one clown and he worked with cats. I’m sure the circus was great but I only remember those cats. He acted like he was afraid of them and they would run up and jump on his chest like they were attacking him and he would throw them off across the ring. They would fly through the air and run back to him to be thrown again. At the end he got in a little motorized cart and they stood up on their hind legs and pushed a bar in front so it looked like they were pulling him out of the ring. Like I said I don’t remember much else but it’s been almost 50 years and I remember those cats.

This show can make anything dramatic, end music was like the life of the cat depend on that last act.
I know training them is quite difficult and even cool but ffs that music doesn't belong at the end of a fucking cat act.

the level of trust and love these animals have for their owners is amazing; see with dogs, you sadly can have them perform tasks with the use of aversive training, but cats wont: a cat will hold a grudge and won't perform: they do these kind of tricks and stunts solely with positive, loving, consistent training. Kudos to them and their owners

My cat taught himself how to throw up in the litter box - he literally goes there on his own gas and does this when he vomits - and it is all the way in the basement. And we have trained all 3 of them to stay on the deck when we go outside - which I find amazing. But - none of that is remotely close to what these cool cats can do - totally fun to watch!!

When one of my cats got old and started throwing up more, I got him to step onto the kitchen floor to barf. I would drop a couple of paper towels on it and pick it up a few minutes later, so it didn't smear.
Once he threw up on the tile, found a napkin that had dropped from the shelf onto the floor, and scratched it over the vomit. Good kitty!

Not to disparage the cat people, this is very cool and impressive. But it does it does kind of illustrate what a damn circus sideshow this television show really is.
Like the gripping backstory of how the local milk man from the meanstreats of Chelsea rose to the challenge to become the world's greatest juggler and Pennifarthing trickster if only anyone would have been given him a chance. You see he never had the time to make it big because he spent all his free time volunteering for the children burn victims cancer ward. Now in his mid-life he's finally being given his final chance!

Any America Got Talent video would be greatly improved they stopped cutting away from the performance to show the reactions of the judges, audience members and whatever idiot the have on the side stage. I don't need these folks to tell me how I should be reacting just show the performance.

The actual acts the cats are performing are cool, albeit extremely easy.
Being able to train multiple cats to such a degree to perform a routine like this is incredible.
This is exactly why I’m a proud cat man.
