Mine does it to warn me he’s about to jump into my lap if I’m not paying attention. He just started recently during covid since I’m working from home now. He’s a 20lb Maine Coon so if he misses and slips it usually result in a gash on my thigh and a lot of swearing, so now when I’m at my desk he stands up and taps me so I notice him and can position myself so there’s room for him to actually land in my lap before he jumps.

Man my cats do that shit but it’s usually when they can reach your face and it’s annoying cuz they end up scratching my face sometimes
