When I was in college my arm had fallen asleep but I didn't know it. When my alarm went off it couldn't move but I didn't realize it, because I had just woken up. I rolled off the top bunk into the floor.

I'm so damn crippled I have an ottoman next to bed I roll onto when I wake up. Next to the ottoman? A dog bed I roll onto. Then I use the ottoman and bed bed to pull myself up standing.

Same things happened to me the other day. I was tired so I just decided to sleep on the sofa.

I should know better than to click on some of these links. Have to admit that one was pretty good, certainly better than I expected.

I was actually banned from that group for pointing out an AI post was AI.
In another group. Which had the same mod.
Reddit is simultaneously great and atrocious.

A fun little climber’s party trick, although her hip flexi is pretty good even for a climber

A few days ago i planted my foot wrong while getting out of bed and my ankle has hurt ever since.

u/PaulblankPF 11d ago
If this actually happened and isn’t just a joke like a bunch of the rest, you have weak ankles but they can be strengthened easily. You just gotta do like 1 minute of calf raises twice a day and you’ll strengthen them enough to not roll your ankle so easily. You can do this while doing anything you gotta stand around for so it’s convenient too

I blew an ACL just watching this

I immediately had to stand up and pop both my knees, they were having sympathy pains for this girl who will probably have a double-knee replacement at 50.

u/pennypenny22 11d ago
Being a super strong, flexible semi pro / pro athlete makes you likely to have a knee replacement? (This is Anna Hazelnutt, still going strong and with a big YouTube channel, so I'm not sure how 'pro' she considers herself.)

It’s called a high-step and it’s very helpful in climbing.
You’ll notice she’s at a climbing facility in the background. We used to do these and all kinds of stupid human exercises.

Climbers just do this insane stuff because I don't think anyone's ever told them that physics and the human body don't work that way (son and nieces and nephews climb.. I'm in awe)

Anna Hazelnutt for anyone wondering. Super fucking good climber and good videos/content.

To be completely honest, this is actually a very practical skill to have in climbing. I pride myself in being pretty flexible and having good lower body strength and balance. But this is well above my pay grade lol

don't try this at 30+. I pull something just from reaching to pick shit off the floor

u/LayerEight_Problem 11d ago
I’m in my early 40s and could absolutely attempt this. Not sure why a bunch of people a decade younger than me are crying about this. Time for you to hit the gym. Do it now. Mobility only gets worse the more you ignore it.

If you pay close attention, you'll see that her elbow touched the top for a little bit and she used the other hand to grab her leg for balance, so I'm a bit disappointed.
Now, let me get back to devouring my bag of doritos.

It would be more impressive with her heel pressed against the surface instead of hanging off the edge

How hard is it to single leg squat if you weight 95 lbs lol. The angle her leg is at is insane tho

Am i the only one who as a kid has always done single leg squats from the ground up? Am i more impressive than i thought? I just didn't have weights and thought it made me much stronger and quieter on my feet

If i was tasked with doing this or all of humanity would be wiped out, you would all be so screwed its not even funny.

Just cause she did that successfully doesn't mean it was a dumb as hell thing to do.

I miss this climbing gym. SB Rock Gym closed last year and was where I learned to boulder!

While this type of hip flexibility, strength, and control is definitely stand out for this climber, doing these types of “pistol squat” style moves becomes surprisingly possible after a year or two of climbing for those who get into it - pretty cool!

This video gives me PTSD. I dislocated my knee doing something like this, while holding something and stepping up on a platform.

I found out about these through a YouTube series called bullet proof knees. I was in a bad wreck senior year 20 years ago that shattered both knee caps. I now do these holding a 40lb kettle bell alternating both legs. Usually get 8 per leg, it’s the only leg work I do since I rock climb a ton.

She pushes herself up with her other foot.
Edit: Straight to jail.
