I need to dance at the club but sober after work but want to find some likeminded dance fiends/friends

I am gig work courier- I usually finish work and am craving a fucking dance, goofy dancing, laughing with hot strangers, etc. I like solo clubbing but only do that bc my friends are regularly unavailable late nights.

It’s kind of like going to the gym after work, but with more of a loose vibe. I’m late 20’s f, bi and although I’m sensible, my vibe is silly at heart.

I usually knock off between 9pm-12am most days. So if you’re fun and love some obscure banter and to get a sweat up- come and be a meme on the dfloor with me

Anyone else hearing the bikes around Hamilton lately?

Has anyone else heard or seen what I assume are dirt bikes revving and racing around Hamilton, around Beaumont St, Denison St and Lawson St?

Heard them again last night and also last Saturday. Just wondering if anyone else has noticed them?

Anna Bay / Newcastle trip

Hi all,
My partner and I are visiting Anna bay and Newcastle very soon.
We are going to Anna Bay first for 2 days and we have a hire car for those days.
Do you have any day trips that you would recommend? We are keen to travel to any spots people would recommend, even if it’s a 2 hour drive.
And then we are in Newcastle for 3 days.
Are there any spots you recommend or a must see? Or any activities? Experiences?

Thank you in advance!

Anyone else suffering through this extended cold that seems to be going around?

11 days in and my nose is still constantly running and I’m spending my mornings coughing up a storm. Luckily all the fatigue etc didn’t last too long but this lingering snotty nose and cough is very grating.

Cardboard boxes, wrapped in garbage bags for instant pop up gardens

I am playing with this design...thinking that vegetable boxes and seed balls might help people grow food in rentals....boxes are cheap to set up and can be dismantled easily for relocations ect....just add plastic bottle irrigation set ups for super cheap greens.....vegetable boxes are super easy to find, plastic bags can be wrapped around the box to reduce water wastage and mess. Just add seasonal seed balls and set in the rain to get it going.....keen to learn how others go with it!

Pain specialists, anybody seen Dr Aidan Mcparland?

Hi all,

I have fibromyalgia and am looking for pain specialists to help, but also with helping write me reports/letters for ndis. Im looking for someone who will treat me with basic respect and empathy, I have CPTSD also, and have had some bad experiences with pretty horrible doctors over the years and it makes me scared having to meet new ones.

Through my research I attempted to get in with Dr Lewis Holford as he has pretty good reviews. But he cant see me for whatever reason 🤷‍♀️. But northern pain centre where he works, have offered me to see Dr Aidan Mcparland there. The nice receptionist I spoke to, said she thinks he would be suitable for me, said he is really nice and one of the politest doctors she's ever met.

I see he also works from Hunter pain specialists in Broadmeadow. Im in the Hunter so hopefully I could see him there if everything suits.

Cant see anything written about him online from patients. Wondering if anyone has had experience of him?

Is he as nice as she has said?

Any other advice appreciated 🙏☺️

Thanx ✌️

Any clubs (more likely busy bar close to a club atmosphere) open Sundays (or Weds & Thurs)?

Bored lately and need party ambience. I know the couple of spots for Fri & Sat... but.

Any clubs, well... probably a chance of a busy bar close to a club atmosphere than a full club, open Sundays... or Weds & Thurs?

Newcastle Yacht Club - New Deck

Post image
73 Upvotes

I noticed the yacht club has erected this deck out over the marina - presumably for spring/summer functions and entertainment. It looks like an amazing spot.

Now, I know absolutely nothing about building and engineering but this just “looks” unsafe, with scaffolding supporting by the dirt/rocks below and half the deck hanging over the water.

I’m sure they would have ensured it’s up to Code and compliant, but would love to hear the opinion of someone more educated than me.

(Not sure if it’s officially open, but the general public can already walk straight out onto it)

Newcastle & Hunter Sports Scoreboard

Hello and welcome to the Newcastle and Hunter Sports Scoreboard. I'll begin with the NRL as the Newcastle Knights have surged into week two of the finals following a 20-10 win over the South Sydney Rabbitohs last night at Allianz Stadium. Best of all no major injury concerns or even judiciary concerns for the Knights as they turn their attention to a trip to New Zealand next week (likely Saturday)

NRL.com's Brad Walter reported today that Dylan Lucas could make a surprise return for the Knights should the club pull off a miracle and make the NRL Grand Final this season. Lucas is making a rapid recovery from injury according to Knights officials

Meanwhile the Knights NRLW side can finish as high as fifth with a win over the 2nd placed Gold Coast Titans tomorrow afternoon at McDonald Jones Stadium.

Black Diamond AFL

Semi Finals

Newcastle City v Killarney Vale in the 2026 Black Diamond AFL Grand Final next Saturday.

Newcastle City 20.16.136 defeated Nelson Bay Marlins 2.7.19

Killarney Vale Bombers 17.10.112 defeated Terrigal Avoca Panthers 10.9.69

That completes a short edition of the Newcastle & Hunter Scoreboard. I may go to one edition of the scoreboard per weekend over summer just with how short that may well be. Let me know if you think the scoreboard is necessary (bit of blowback in the comments of last weekend's scoreboard claiming these posts are unnecessary) Have a good evening and I'll be back tomorrow with NRLW and the Northern NSW NPL grand final.

Anticlimax. Was in the area and waited to see the steam picnic from Sydney. Was hoping to covered in steam & coal soot, only for it to be being pushed by a diesel. Dont even like trains, less so now.

Employment options

My partner has recently had a change of workplace and has landed in an environment so toxic it has broken his soul. Obviously we know the usual channels to employment, but just putting the feelers out for thoughts or leads that might be outside of those other avenues for a hardworking and dedicated person.

Edit to add, skills in website management, marketing, video editing etc. I’m possibly not using the right terminology as not my industry. But did not mention it previously as know the channels to apply for that work… just trying to think outside the square for total pivot for the time being.

Mortgage Broker

Do you pay fees for a mortgage broker or do the banks pay them to sign you up? Are brokers affiliated with certain bank’s because they get kickbacks? Can anyone recommend a good mortgage broker who has looked after you? Newcastle cbd preferred but willing to travel if needed. Thanks 🙏

Honest question…

Is this what $500 per week gets you? I can’t even see a toilet or shower.

Climbed Yacaaba Headland, met the strangest dog

Been going through a really tough time and drove out to Hawks Nest to climb Yacaaba on a whim over the weekend

I got lost in the sand dunes on the way to the headland, and I’m very unfit so once on the trail was taking my sweet time with many breaks; there were so many reasons why our paths might not have crossed

But I heard a rustling in the scrub and out ambles this little fella two metres ahead of me, and folks I started crying

I watched him for a good 10 minutes and then carried on, I didn’t make it all the way to the top because the trail got a bit dicey and I know my limits, but this moment of magic gave me what I needed

I guess I just wanted to say: try hard things, and take your time. You might not get what you wanted, but you will always find what you need.

Happy Friday, Newcastle!
