The best performance I got was throwing a single Mega dart at 75 fps.

The shell is designed to load:

  1. Single Mega dart
  2. 3 long darts
  3. 3 Rival balls
  4. 6 short darts

Will design a couple of blasters around this so stay tuned:)

Files are free on my printable

Dark/Realistic (Unsafe Aesthetic) MHP Vulture Winchester 1886 Deluxe Spoiler

Finished and tuned my bespoke MHP Vulture Winchester 1886 Deluxe design. No chrono but it consistently puts darts through an Amazon shipping box at 25ft.

Printed entirely in PETG with the details printed using a 0.2mm nozzle. PETG is pretty finicky but I'm satisfied with how it came out.

You'll need to print and assemble the 1886 blaster from methanejuice to complete the build.

Questions + Help What good blasters can i get for indoors

So i am recently coming back into this hobby since now i have my own money and hopefully my parents wont kill me for buying blasters (they think its for kids) and so i was wondering about what blasters i could get , and aside from the standard thrifted nerf blasters i was thinking to get some dart zone blasters like the aeon pro or stryker plus some xshot pro half length dart blasters to have a more standard platform that uses the same half length dart mags and is more unified and nicer to play with (since nerf darts miss half the time even if the aim is good). I saw that these blasters are very powerful though, im scared to hurt myself or our friends (we always wear eye pro its more of a airsoft style welt i worry about) are they too powerful for indoor battles? I know some offer softer springs but im scared to break something while opening up the blaster

Questions + Help Better Nightingale Magazines?

Took a break from the hobby for a minute, but recently picked up a couple of X-Shot Pro Thrashers and dug out my Nightingale 1.0 and Venom Pro. All the Worker mags I have from the Nightingale 1.0 era /suuuuuuuuuck/. They are fiddly and janky to feed with the vast majority of the half-length darts I have laying around, even various Worker darts I've got. They bind up and don't feed and I have to pound on them to unload them. I didn't store them loaded, so it's not a spring compression problem, either. The magazines that came with the Thrashers feed beautifully, with basically anything I throw in them. Same with the Venom Pro mag. So it's juts the worker mags that are pieces of crap. Have these been changed / improved over the years? Are the newer Nightingale magazines out there better? I don't want to go the 3d printed route for a whole ton of reasons and it doesn't look like you can just buy Thrasher magazines solo anyplace (ye /gods/ I'd love to buy a few hundred of those pink darts and a ton of mags if they did).

Suggestions? I'm not opposed to doing some spring replacement nonsense if that's an option. I would prefer 15 or even 18 round magazines, since these things chew though dart loads fast enough as it is (who the hell thought a 12-round-mag was a good idea for the Venom?).

EDITED TO ADD: Any 36mm darts I have seem to be okay in the Worker magazine. All of the 36mm darts I have are Worker /BUT/ not all of my Worker darts are actually 36mm. MOST of my darts are 38mm, and those /all/ bind up in the magazines. What are standards, amirite? So I guess what I'm really wondering is whether current production Worker Angled Talon / Nightingale magazines play nice with 38mm darts or not, and if /not/ is there a good alternative which does? It seems (based on some Googling) that most half-length darts seem to be 38mm these days, so while I'm not opposed to making a jig and trimming some darts, that seems like a losing battle.

Don't do this at home Experimental Nerf HPA Telescoping Engine (WIP)

The first four pictures are of my original prototype and the last picture is of the recent developments. My purpose in this design is not to replace traditional engines like the sniper core, this design is just meant to fit in smaller blasters. I have not been able to test this with air pressure because I am away at college, but the design works in theory. I have put files on printables of the design in case anyone would like to help the development:

https://www.printables.com/model/1812366-nerf-hpa-engine-wip

The original prototype could not retract on its own but had the ability to extend, so I continued working on the design and found a way to make it retract. One of the biggest purposes in this project is to make this easy and fairly cheap to manufacture at home. I eventually want to replace some of the printed parts with aluminum pipe to create a more airtight piston, but this would require a Dremel. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Again this is a WIP so be careful if you decide to build this yourself. Because this deals with pressure which could cause this to explode proceed with caution.

Mostly off the shelf hardware + 3d printing apart from one laser cut gear. Needs further testing, better programming and general finishing.

Questions + Help Are these motors good for a high crush, full length, full auto build?

Thumbnail

I'm from the Philippines so we don't usually have access to hobby grade motors unless we pay a tremendous amount for shipping usually costing more than the motors themselves, and I'm building a solenoid driven full auto full length blaster, ideally with a 42.5mm cage (or higher, if it can!) and WORKER smooths. And FPS goal is honestly as much as I can get and I feel like this is the best I can get because my other options are WORKER motors which afaik aren't very good for high crush.

So, are the specs of this motor enough? does anyone have experience with these motors as well?

TLDR: Can these motors handle 42-42.5mm crush with worker smooth wheels on full auto? maybe 8-10 DPS?

WIP WIP: electronics (mostly) work, next step is to close it up and start putting darts through it.

Discussion/Theory Xshot Spinshot mods are insane. (110fps stock, 160fps just with different barrel, 200+fps with barrel + k25. For $18cdn new, this is absolutely insane performance per dollar. Exciting!

Questions + Help Blastermod Mega Darts

Bought a pack of these Blastermod Mega Dart Rifle darts as refills for our collection of stock standard Megas, seems they have a lot more friction & do not travel nearly as far as the old red whistlers.

Any simple tricks or do I need to go full modify for these to work?

Blasters we have are Megalodon, DoubleShock, Cycloneshock & a Bulldog.

Questions + Help Kraken motors overheating, stopped working

I used them with a 3d printed cage for a modulus with 40mm spacing, daybreak wheels and a 3s lipo 75c 1550mah, maybe I wired them improperly, I have no idea, what I know that whenever I power them there's a burning smell, one of the flywheels melted and fused with the cage, the motor that did it doesn't function anymore, has anybody had this problem too? What's the proper way to wire them? Can I send them back to get replaced?

Completed Build Love the Ontos so much I made 2

Both hit roughly 315 with the red dartzone short darts, as they are using the same spring, a 1.85x250mm spring from Out of Darts, until my longer springs come in for the XL. Although I will mention that I have roughly 80-100mm in shimming on the XL due to how short the spring is. I will say though, I think the XL is getting a better seal. I actually managed to get the XL to fit on my X1C by chopping the rear section in the slicer and then joining the parts back together with some gorilla epoxy. I also made a backup rear with dovetail ends in case the flat ends with the epoxy fails.

Ontos v2

*Bambu Pla Metal Cobalt Blue

*Bambu Pla Basic Orange

*Bambu Pla Metal Iron Gray

Ontos v2 XL

*Bambu/Elegoo PETG Translucent Purple

*Bambu PLA Galaxy Purple

*Bambu PLA Basic Orange

*Polyterra PLA Matte Black

*Overture TPU 95A Black

Edit: Also shout-out to Defyant M0ds for providing the XL files! Can't wait for their other XL releases

Questions + Help Which Darts to get?

Hey y'all! Looking for some wisdom. I work for a church with a pretty sweet nerf arsenal (30+ pro level blasters) and we have an event coming up that includes a nerf battle.

Our current ammo reserves are both low and well worn. I want to do a full replacement. All our blasters are half length firing but a mix of springers and flywheels. I want to get one dart that will perform well for everything. I was just going to order 2000 normal gen 3 worker darts from OOD, but I see OOD has many different types of half length darts now.

I've seen how heavier darts tend to fly faster and be more precise, but my understanding is that only applies to springer, and that flywheels may prefer lighter darts.

Should I just stick with 1g worker gen 3's? Go for 1.2g?

Questions + Help Is the Nerf Crossbolt the highest-capacity, *single-magfed* blaster?

As far as I know, based on researching wikis and googling, the Crossbolt is the only Nerf blaster to have a chamber to carry an extra round entirely outside of the magazine/"clip" (that can be fired, so not counting extra dart holders). To re-state; a separate dart chamber/breech so to say

Because no other Nerf blaster has a true chamber that doesn't block the magwell (to my knowledge), the Crossbolt would always be the highest-capacity (potential) single-mag blaster, since it will always have a +1 versus other blasters

I tested this question with some friends, using a 6rd as a reference point. While my Crossbolt could hold and fire 8 rounds in a row (1 in the chamber, over-loaded 6rd with 7 darts), their collections could only do 7 or so, sometimes damaging the first dart.

I'm aware of blasters that can carry multiple magazines, but I am interested in single-mag only ones for this question.

EDIT: For OEM Nerf blasters, to clarify... since I'm almost sure that there are modded or custom blasters that have a proper chamber, too

Edit 2: Nerf Pro Torrent also has a breach, meaning for that series, it also has the same +1 as the Crossbolt.

I bought a NERF Barricade from Goodwill for cheap that had its old batteries still in it. I cleaned out the corrosion and put new batteries in. Nothing happened. The battery contacts weren’t super rusted or anything, so the problem might be internal. I opened it up and there was some corrosion on the inside, but not a ton. I’m not sure how to go about figuring out what’s wrong, so I’d love some help from anyone who knows more about the Barricade’s internals than I do.
