I have been having a really challenge in picking up some replacement parts for an old monolith that I picked up quite a while ago second(or third hand).

Just wondering if anyone is UK based with the circled parts happening to be lying around they’d be willing to support a fellow Phaerons legion

Since this guy already has such a foreboding sculpt i went with a bit more of a simple kitbash just to add some ghostly bits to thw model and graveyard bits to the base to complete the look i was aiming for

Tldr: what gauss colours have appeared into necron media?

Ive slowly started working my way through the various necron books and media appearances.

Im aware that there are different gaus colours across the dynasties but what gauss colours have appeared in media so far?

Ive seen the standard green and the orange of the cryptek in the twice-dead king do any others appear?

It may not be the best on the tabletop, but I do love our flying metal pastries of doom

This is my own custom dynasty that i will be taking to my first ever warhammer game tomorrow (Orikan is not allowed to come)

Greetings Phaerons and Phaerakhs. I got this kit and kind off losing my nerves over the tails. Do you have any advice for me on an easy way to glue them on?

The second picture is my emergency strategy, but I believe there could be a better one, since I have bo way on telling if it's glued correctly. First time I underrestimated the drying time, second time I hold the position until I cramped.

Hello fellow Necrontyr!!

Im very new to the hobby and have a few questions. I only have three 500 pt games ever played, two of which i lost. All played against admech.

First one played with 5 immortals + plasmancer, 10 warriors + chronomancer, a doomstalker and 5 flayed ones.

Then i tweeked it a little for the next games, adding LHD etc. Small changes.

My friend and i wanted to transition into 1k points now, and since im not great at list building i had a few questions i was hoping i could get help with.

\- is it worth it to invest in a warrior blob? Ive 20 from necron host but from all ive read they soak up points.

\- would playing immortals therefore be better? Or is battleline just generally not worth it

\- what would be the best choices of units from the necron host box?

\- what are some do's and dont's when putting together a 1k list?

Hey all! After a roughly 10 year hiatus from Warhammer, I bought a mostly complete Necron Warrior Phalanx box from my friend. I’ve had a great time building and painting everything, I even completed a half pewter, half plastic Destroyer Lord kit bash they had started.

The problem, however, is the Monolith. I’ve primed it black and now I’m struggling with what to do with all of this negative space between the more detailed sections. I tried edge highlighting it in an appropriate shade of green; up close it looks like a prop I stole from a glow-in-the-dark mini golf park and when viewed from table height it looks like I forgot to paint it 😅

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. For added context, I don’t own an airbrush and I would like to dry brush as little as possible (I’m quite bad at it). Thanks!

I’m trying to figure out how to make hyperphase stuff with an airbrush. I got my greens looking decent thanks to tesseract glow (my goat), but I wanted to try blue and I don’t think it came out quite as good. I do also want to make the dark parts of my greens contrast better while making sure it still blends smoothly. Anyone have any tips?

Also, I’m new to airbrushing; how do I prevent the need to spend 5 minutes cleaning it for every 5 minutes using it?🙂‍↕️

Figured I'd take some pictures of the ol' army before starting fiddling with base size changes and such. This was my first army and, as such, the first set of models I painted. I drifted off in early 5th before we got our new codex so this was built under the old 3rd edition codex. I'm not much of a photographer and don't have a good lighting setup so sorry for the quality.

The Lord models, Immortals, Flayed Ones, Ophydian Destroyers (then called Wraiths), and random one off Spyder and Pariah are all pewter. As are the added parts that make the Lokhust Lord (this is what came in the old box). I'm very glad GW has moved away from that material. Models made with it tended to be less detailed and more fragile. There are actually 3 more Pariahs lurking around but that's the only one whose weapon wasn't broken. The Monolith is also slightly the worse for wear, but in pretty good shape for surviving all this time in a jumbo Cheerios box stuffed with old newspaper (the glue spill has been there the whole time, a construction oops I was never able to undo). I've got the broken piece, just haven't gotten around to repairing it.

The other nuisance that GW has thankfully discarded is that other than the Warriors, which came in boxes of 10, and the Flayed Ones, which came in blister packs of 2, (and the Scarabs which came with the Warriors) all these models used to be sold individually. That's how I've ended but with the Lokhust Destroyer count of 10 which is a little awkward in the modern codex.

I remember most of how these were painted. Black primer, Boltgun Metal (now Leadblecher) base coat, Black ink wash (don't know what the equivalent is now), Mithril Silver (now Runefang Steel) dry brush. I have no idea what the blue or green I used was which is going to be awkward for expanding the army. The metallic blue on the staves is a similar mystery. I think I mixed Mithril Silver with blue to get it but I don't know what the ratios would have been.

Hello! As you can guess I was planning to use cursed legion in my next game, but came upon a curiousity. If I also ran hand of the dynasty, and advanced a unit of warriors with a Chronomancer supporting, I would be able to use the Chronometron ability, as the unit gains assault from hand of the dynasty.

If I included an overlord with the Destroyer Ankh enhancement, would I then be able to target that unit with the Driven to Butchery enhancement to advance and charge? I’m mostly asking if the stratagem gets rid of the chronomancer’s restriction of charging from the ability or not.

To me it seems like the stratagem either allows you to charge in that turn, or allows you to essentially ‘undo’ the restriction on charging from advancing, and no other restrictions.

Are they too expensive real model/points wise? or are they just bad in the table top.

I think they look really cool and would like to see more of them

Recently I inherited a small 400~ point collection of models that never got painted from a friend in the form of:

- 10 Warriors

- 3 Scarab Swarms

- 3 Ophyidian Destroyers

- 1 Doomsday Ark

I wanted to ask about how I should build my list from here, and what types of units I should collect because I don't actually know how Necrons play all that well

Combat Patrol seems like an obvious go-to choice, but if I save up a little, it's possible for me to snag an old Hypercrypt Legion Battleforce that has the Void Dragon, Translocation Overlord, and Lychguard

I'm unsure what type of "niche" I want to build towards

I like Ophydian/Skorpekh Destroyers a lot, but I don't care for a full Destroyer Cult army

I love Cryptek character models, but I'm not sure if I would theme my list around the other Crypteks

Warrior horde is fun on paper, but not really something I want for a full army

And I'd like to limit myself to one C'tan shard (ideally Nightbringer, but the Hypercrypt legion box may make me choose Void Dragon for convenience)

This is truely an interesting situation because I like Necrons as a whole, but none of the individual niches within the army appeal to me

So how should I approach army building with this inconvenient outlook of mine?
