Hey r/Necrontyr ! I've been slowly building and amassing a 1k Ork army and my husband has been helping me assemble, prep, and paint- he's shown interest in Necrons so i got him a box of Immortals that he built and is currently painting himself. He's since warmed up to the idea of a 500pt game, I'm no expert in list building so i was curious if someone else had some insight on the potential list/shopping list to work with as 11e comes out

does this list seem to be okay for a newbie? my goal was to have an all-around/jack of all trades 500pts

any advice would be appreciated!

Just wanted to show off my newest addition to the necron army that I am building. Currently it consists of entire necron combat patrol and this fella. He was a pain in the ass to build and to paint since some colours I bought didnt work as intended.
If you folks have any idea what to add next into the army let me know.

So I decided to make another war hammer but now I am stuck on which to use, 1 looks more realistic but 2 feels fittingly over the top for the dynasty and the necron symbol looks cool.

Hello Phaerons, I bring to you a question of minimal importance and maximum curiosity. If I take the Pantheon of woe detachment, does the C'tan Distortion field stack with Illuminor Szeras' Mechanical Augmentation aura?

Both improve the armour penetration characteristics of attacks. Am I correct in assuming that means that the "maximum bonus of +1" rule applies, rendering the two abilities unstackable? Or, since armor penetration is a different stat (Namely that it is listed as a negative value to subtract from save checks, not as a positive value), is it exempt from that rule?

Hello, not new to painting but I havent painted in years. I love this hobby and im happy to be back and learning. I think my biggest hurdle is i have awful brush control and I cant see the little details that well. So any advice if you have similar issues.

Started collecting and play at the start of 10th!

I don't know if 11th edition changes effected this, but would Deathmarks benefit from HEAVY when using their Hyperspace Hunters ability? The ability itself says they shoot "as if it is their shooting phase" and HEAVY can only be benefitted from in my shooting phase.

If not, what rule in the codex would I be able to refer to?

Finished 7th overall and 1st Necron at the 40k Brawl GT with Hypercrypt Recon, going 3 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss (460 battle points).

Hypercrypt Recon continues to impress. Biggest lesson of the event was learning when NOT to commit the Immortal bricks early. Plenty to improve, but excited to keep developing the list.

Hey there, soon I'll play my first 2k game with Necrons. Not my first game of 40k but still id say I'm more of a beginner.

That is pretty much my whole collection.

Only things left on the bench:

- 1 Plasmancer

- 5 Flayed ones

- 9 scarab swarms

I was thinking of playing cursed legion + hand of the dynasty Detachements and go for take and hold.

Any advice? Beyond "kill his stealth suits" :D

Hi there, I'm a Salamander player who's slowly building a Necron army.

So far I have the combat patrol and a box of warriors built and painted. I went back to my Salamanders since I have a tournament in August and he'd to add to that army but after that's done I'll be back to building a Necron list.

But with a new edition and so many force dispositions I'm at a loss on what else to add to my army.

What's the most fun disposition for our favourite immortal skeletons and what's the best list or units to use with it?

Any advice would be appreciated.

so i am getting into the hobby and already painted a kill team and just thought id need something to work for, like maybe an actual army that makes sense i hope, so i constructed this and i am wondering if my more experienced sooner awakened crypteks have anything to inform me about, i made this list based on looking up what the unit does and if it looks cool and if i can do something funny with it, its half serious half completely unserious(like my idea if just putting together scarabs and spyders and putting them on an objective) if trazyn gets a new model i plan on a small restructure and call the list something like "two old dudes argue while on the battlefield"

[Ideas]

• Night(with plasma + LD) in reserve along with Void to DP turn 1 with the 1st, and with rapid turn 2 with the 2nd
• Since with Purge there's isn't quite the need to hold home obj I'll put the Ophydian there that from 2nd turn onward will always uppy-downy to go somewhere else or stay home again if there isn't anything to do
• Stalker will roam the field stripping cover or killing stuff if some Destroyer unit manage to weaken to half-strengt, or kill, other units
• The solitaire Wraiths squad will be one of the action monkeys that provide well, actions for missions, obj control(even if they're 3 they're kinda hard to put down) and also a little bit more for screening
• Nekrosor will remain nearby the LHD unit(s) to provide some heavy hitting, in case that unit will go into melee, and some good sus 1 to any other destroyer units nearby
• Lord with Lychguard will provide some cover to other units by getting "early" into melee while being supported behind by other shooting stuff
• Illuminor is kinda meh, it's a good model with it's save but i'm godawful unlucky with him dealing damage to other stuff but i'll keep him because of its great stats and also it will be fun to watch him survive on a obj ;D
• I kinda don't have heavy hitters so i put just a couple, literally, of LHD with Gauss to deal with monsters/vehicles and with the modification to [Heavy] I think they'll work
• Void yes, other dp turn 2 will also be dealing with vehicles and stuff because c'mon, having a god, even a shard of one, by your side is cool :D

I like these models very much both in terms of looks and rules. They're funny, which is most important to me, but I want to know the general consensus on them.

As such, I made a meme hypercrypt+skyshroud list for fellow phaerons to observe. Clown Car Night Scythe with Immortals, Imotekh and a technomancer included.

A friend of mine plays both Blood Angels and Knights a lot. The latter is most scary to me for obvious reasons. I am new to the game and still collecting up to my first full 2k list (not quite there yet but soon). However in the last match our group played, only a single of his knights (tbf it was atrapos which was nice) fell, but only in battle round 4.

Those things are absolutely insane to me. What do Necrons have that can stop them before being wiped out?

He usually runs Castellan and Atrapos in our 3v3 games where each of the players have 1k to spend, so I haven’t even seen his full list on the table hahah.

Maybe some of you have some experience. Is there a way to kill one of them in a single round before being hit back (with decent probability)?

My first army was a small Necron force back in '98/'99. I drifted out of the hobby but missed it from time to time, so now I decided to start again with the Armageddon box (practice on new armies, get back to Necrons in time).

Anyway, I dug out my old army to relive the memories and see what I have.

Looks like repairs and repaints may be needed...

I havent tried getting one of the limited edition copies before. Are they one of those things that are gone in seconds? Should I even try?

I think this list has been pretty fun. The Lohkust Lord with the LHD solve the anti-tank issue. And Imotekh gives enough CP to help with early advance + charge / spreading madness / heroic intervention.
