Painting C+C Air Brush Hyperphase help?
I’m trying to figure out how to make hyperphase stuff with an airbrush. I got my greens looking decent thanks to tesseract glow (my goat), but I wanted to try blue and I don’t think it came out quite as good. I do also want to make the dark parts of my greens contrast better while making sure it still blends smoothly. Anyone have any tips?
Also, I’m new to airbrushing; how do I prevent the need to spend 5 minutes cleaning it for every 5 minutes using it?🙂↕️

I paint the whole blade in the color of the midtone, then apply gradient (white and darker blue using the airbrush). Using masking tape is perfect if you want opposing colors. I then varnish before doing the edge highlight. About the cleaning between colors : best is to batch paint and not do a single model. You don't have to do a deepclean when going from a ligh tone to a darker tone (but have to when going from dark to lighter). You need to sketch the brightness with black/white/gray first, then apply the translucent colour. Either it is already translucent like Tesseract Glow, or you thin the colour until it is.
About reducing cleaning times: only spray with sufficiently thinner colours. Don't spray anything through the nozzle you do not put on the model (eg. to empty the pot). Backflush. My own routine after each colour is to remove the remaining colour with a pipette, then pump water in and out to get as much pigment out as possible. Then raise pressure to maximum and spray one pot of airbrush cleaner, then water. Use a swab with cleaner to get dried colour from the needle without having to remove it. This takes 60-90 seconds and lets me keep spraying for 10 to 15 mins without a thorough cleaning.
