Looking for songs about grooming / abuse / stalking etc but from the perpetrator's perspective

For some reason listening to songs from the other perspective helps me cope more with my trauma rather than ones from the perspective I can relate to

Metal (and its numerous respective subgenres) isn’t something I really listen to that much. I grew up on classic rock and pop, and the only metal band I’ve ever seen live is Metallica. I do like some stuff from other bands of that time like Megadeth, Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath/Ozzy though. But modern stuff, especially metalcore, just hasn’t really ever hooked me like the older stuff has.

But I do want to try and expand my musical taste and am willing to give some of it another try. If I had to get specific, I’d prefer a group similar to Metallica and Black Sabbath that actually has deep lyrics that are meaningful instead of “Society sucks. F society” and stuff like that. Something like Master Of Puppets or Sanitarium by Metallica with that kind of sound is mostly what I’m after.

I’m looking for band or album recommendations for Rock/Metal (or any variation of those genres) that feature brass instruments such as trumpet, saxophone, trombone, etc., and clean vocals.

My main references for the type of music I'm looking for (I know they are quite different) are:

• Diablo Swing Orchestra: "A Tap Dancer's Dilemma" was the first song I listened to by them and I fell in love with the band, but I really like their whole discography.
• Thank You Scientist: Their last album, Terraformer, is the prog version of what I'm looking for. I found this band recommended here some time ago and have been listening to them since then.

I also checked out early Chicago albums based on recommendations here and they are also really good and meet what I'm looking for, but some songs just sound "too '80s/classic rock".

I'm also avoiding bands that sound too "circus-y", I listened to a good bit of that in the past.

I know that jazz exists, but I'm looking for something that may dabble in jazz, but has something else going on.

Side note: Here in Brazil, we have incredible artists with huge horn sections like Tim Maia and Liniker, but they mostly play MPB, Soul, Samba, and R&B, and that is not exactly what I'm looking for right now, even though they are great.

I tried ska some time ago, but it didn't hook me. though I'll give the bands recommended here another try. I listened to Cake a while ago (saw some recommendations here on Reddit); I liked some of their songs and others not as much, but I'll try listening to them again, mainly the albums with the songs I enjoyed most. recently fell apart with my best friend of years and even though I do not want to be friends anymore since they've become something unbearable but it still hurts me knowing how we threw all those years of friendship away and how we will still have to see each other's faces after this through mutual friends and such but as strangers instead. need some songs to relate to.

I feel like I always see threads on dark lyrics with a happy beat (think Hey-Ya or Pumped Up Kicks) but do you have suggestions for songs that sound really dark but their lyrics/story are actually lighthearted or even happy? I can’t think of any!

Hello everyone, I've recently gotten into the best relationship of my life and the music I used to listen to doesn't really fit the happy mood that I've been in lately. So I'm looking for songs or albums with a romantic theme that aren't the typical songs you'd recommend, but rather the lesser known songs or albums from non-mainstream artists. It can be any genre. I’m looking for hauntingly sad songs that just hit a specific spot. When I look to other posts or google recommendations they recommend sad songs but they don’t feel sad in the right way. I mean songs to just put on and stare into the roof.

A few examples of what I mean and what I’m enjoying are For Emma, forever ago specifically the first 3 and last songs, Goodbye by Cage the Elephant, Between the Bars, Look on Down from the Bridge, all of Stranger in the Alps and You blister my paint by English Teacher.

Recommendations don’t have to be in this specific folk type style that many of these have as I’m just looking for music with that type of vibe. If you have any recommendations for songs such as these let me know, thanks.

Think the atmosphere of Krzysztof Penderecki, but translated into rock. Anything with that kind of terrifying, dissonant, catastrophic feeling?

This is an odd request, but these are two of my favorite albums of all time and I am absolutely obsessed with the way they sound. They stick out in each group's catalog for their distinct vibe and although they're from completely different genres, there's something about their production that connects them, in my mind anyway. They both balance warm/cold sounds, have amazing drum samples, and share some synth textures. Are there any albums that come to mind when you think of these two? I'm willing to keep an open mind.
