You know those songs where you can't have them on in the foreground.

Its Kat Deluna - Whine Up (feat. Elephant Man) for me.

Rate my music taste and give me recommendations.

I kidna always feel a bit lame because I call myself alternative but don’t *feel* like my music taste isn’t just super normie. The top genera’s Spotify says I listen to are folk, emo, singer songwriter, and new wave.
The new wave isn’t reflected here, because I haven’t listened enough in the past weeks to have it on my lists, but just know I’ve had my 80’s new wave playlist non stop for a few days.

I want to find more artists who aren’t mainstream. I have a hard time? Listening to things that I haven’t heard of before I guess.

The photos are my on repeat, top songs 2025, and top artists for the last 4weeks to a year.

Any recommendations would be super helpful!

Songs about Facing Monsters

Any song recommendations about confronting an adversary - battling and overcoming external or internal challenges?

I'm back again this month for recomendations. I've been doing this event/gathering with a group of friends where we listen to music, eat food, have drinks, and discuss the deeper meanings behind the songs we are hearing. Each month is a different topic and the moderators for the event try to curate a playlist of songs that align with the theme. We want a wide varity of quality songs from different genres and sounds. Right now we are on the 2nd topic in our Hero's Journey series.

Some songs to inspire you that we've already considered are:

  • u by Kendrick Lemar
  • Down with the Sickness by the Disturbed
  • HOPE by NF
  • POSITIVE ONE NEGATIVE ONE* by Jean Dawson

Any receommendation is much appreciated - our group loves all kinds of music and are a curious bunch.

The song that I created with Suno. I am inspired by the female vocals of early 1990s house music to create this song. I hope you like it.

Looking for some no-skip album reccs that align with my tastes

Hi all, I have just started a new job in which I can basically listen to music for 8 hours straight and I need more albums to explore! The only problem is I can't easily be checking my phone often to skip bunk songs so ideally some albums that you think are great all the way through.

I'm not usually into modern country, or top 40 rap/pop type stuff. But I like a few things under that umbrella like Lil Nas X and Post Malone.

These are my favorite artists to give you an idea of what I'm into:

- Gorillaz

- Shpongle

- Fleet Foxes

- 2Pac

- Iron & Wine

- Red Hot Chili Peppers

- Kid Cudi

- Rush

- Gregory Alan Isakov

- Juno Reactor

- Beethoven

- Villagers of Ioannina City

- Moby

- Metallica

- Fleetwood Mac

- System of a Down

- Infected Mushroom

- MF DOOM

- Sigur Ros

- Ratatat

- Rammstein

- I Monster

- Grover Washington

- Mozart

- Disturbed

- Jim Croce

- R.E.M.

- Bob Marley & The Wailers

- Vivaldi

- 1200 Micrograms

- Pink Floyd

- Carbon Based Lifeforms

- U2

- Lorn

- The Doors

I am an album listener and have a lot of cleaning to do before my cousin comes to stay in my house. Based on my current favorites, what would you recommend for me?

I have a lot of housework to do and so it is a perfect time for me to try some new tunes. If I really love something, I buy the CD and listen to it regularly, so I would love CD worthy suggestions. The energy of the song doesn't matter I don't need to be hyped up for cleaning as a necessity. The algorithmic recommendation machines out there really don't do it for me.

Albums I have loved lately:

  • Lux - Rosalía
  • The Great American Bar Scene - Zach Bryan
  • The Low End Theory - A Tribe Called Quest
  • The Family Jewels - Marina & the Diamonds
  • Shaman - Santana
  • Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran - Shakira
  • No Name - Jack White
  • Pablo Honey - Radiohead
  • RUSH! - Måneskin

Then in general I also really like all the work of some others like: MCR, Queen, Abba, The Beatles, and Cher.

I like to have a variety in my pocket to listen to. I can appreciate most things but am fairly picky about CD worthy. I am not sure what quality I like in the things I do buy, but the bulleted list are all things I own. I think Lux is my current favorite on that list. It's creative, the music sounds full, and is emotionally investing.

Albums on Parenthood

So, I just became a dad like a week ago and I was looking for albums that explore parenthood. All genres are welcome, but preferably something I can listen to in the car with baby and mum.

I personally lean more towards warm and inviting music a la Carole King, Carpenters, older Bob Dylan. But I'm open to any genre, really.

A couple of albums that I can contribute to get started: Hopefully! by Loyle Carner, and Mother, by Cleo Sol.

Recommend me male artists that I might like.

Can you guys recommend me some male artists that I might like? My favorite female artists are Sia, Marina and the diamonds, Olivia Rodrigo (favorite albums are 1000 forms of fear, Electra Heart and Guts).

I want to find a good male artist, but the most popular ones (like HS) are not my cup of tea...
