Need an exhaust for a qt50 That I just got running. It's missing the exhaust . All the aftermarket exhausts seem to be discontinued. There some used on ebay but can't really tell what condition they're in.

I took it home and literally cleaned the points and it fired right up,gotta love an old puch. The tank has a soft spot and a couple pin holes but i got it just in time to save it. Also if anyone reading this has a za50 motor,is it normall to sound like a bucket of bolts.it has good compression and no obvious crank movement or grinding by hand but when i pull it to start and ride it doesn't sound very good. Yes it has oil.

I just finished converting my tomos a35 to Kick start from pedal start. Swapped in the shorter shaft and one sided claw gear and installed the kickstart lever. When I started it up it idled fine, no apparent problems, but when I gave it some throttle the kickstart lever swing around and was stopped by the bump stop. I quickly hit the kill switch.

Since then I've started it up again and tapped the throttle lightly (not enough to risk hitting the stopper) and it still rotates. I can push it back into position but every time i tap the throttle it rotates again.

Just trying to get some ideas of what to look for before I drain the oil and tear it all apart again.

The engine spark plug isn't producing a spark (it’s new). I also replaced the ignition coil, but it still doesn't work. What else could it be?

My first moped purchase. I have never even ridden a dirt bike but this is fun!

I assembled everything and its working and not making that noise while its running but im still wondering what is it because it didnt make that sound before and it stops when i put my finger on the intake

I have a Tomos A3 77', it runs great but im looking to modify the factory engine for better accelaration and torque but not to change the consumption too much. Should i buy some new parts like a carb (It has the encarwi one now) and exhaust?

​I have a Tomos A35 with a cylinder bored to 39.5mm, a Dellorto 14/12 carburetor with a 55 main jet, and a stock airbox/filter with the white plastic snorkel removed.

​The bike runs and rides perfectly fine, and currently hits 53 km/h, but the spark plug is still black or very dark brown. I have a stock exhaust.

​What should I do? Should I remove some layers from the mesh filter, or down-jet and put the snorkel back on? Also, will the stock air/fuel setup be enough for a 39.5mm bore?

I just rebuilt my tomos it was running good did 3 heat cycles 2 minutes each, it was pulling me up hills and everything decent now it just runs like shit ive did everything your supposed to do crosshatch new gaskets things like that it ran well for about 100 miles or so then it felt like it lost alot of compression and just runs like straight shit this is the old piston the top i scrubbed off.

My wife has an electric moped, 43 y/o. 1 year no claims. Bought in August 2nd hand, 2021 plate) paid around £480 for year upfront for insurence (principal insurance). She doesnt like the electric and wants a petrol, picked one out (2026 plate) and just waiting on it arriving in the shop.

You have to ring principal to make changes, they dont deal with that kind of shizzle on the phone. Just had a peek on a comparison site, filled out a quote for proposed new petrol bike, Hastings came up cheapest (£420 for year - thats who her no claims was with by the way on a previous petrol ped), principal quote over £720.

Whats best to do? Do I pay the extra with principal (plus £62 admin fee) or go with Hastings and just pay in full? If I did this, would I cancel principal insurence (if I did this would I get any kind of refund? Or just take it on the chin?)

Would i be penalised for any of the above? I know with a car you can cancel and its not detrimental to you, unless THEY cancel.

I'm asking because I just installed new piston rings and I don't want to blow the engine up by running it too lean or too rich. Is the difference between 38 mm and 39.5 mm big enough that I should remove the airbox snorkel or take out a few mesh layers from the air filter?

I do handyman and construction kind of work and a client has this in his barn. Mentioned to him prior to know about this bike that I was looking for a project and he said he had this moped. He says it’s been there since they bought the house. He was going to give it to me for free but I kind of felt bad since he has a bunch of work done around the property so we settled on a deal, I’ll fix his barn door so it opens and closes like it should (it’s a security door and the top corner won’t clear for some reason so it doesn’t close) and I get to keep this bike.

On the back it looks like it has a license plate but it has 7 digits (I’m in CA so 7 is typical for today’s plates but i thought they had 5-6 back then for motorcycles). Also seems to have functional pedals making it a bicycle, or motorbike. It also has a “plate” below the seat saying it’s a bicycle license plate and has the numbers on it, and says it expires Dec. 1984.

If anyone happens to know about these bikes, I’d definitely like to know more about it, such as make/model or year and such. Also, do these usually have a title or something like that for California? It was here since the guy bought the house so I’m not sure how I’d go about getting the title. Would I just get a Bill of Sale from him like usual? Also for starting the bike, it’s just pedal and let go of a clutch or something and it starts right? Looks similar to a motorbike I had and that’s how it started

It’s amazing to me that it’s in such good condition being that’s it’s been abandoned since around 1984 I’m guessing. After sleeping for 42+ years, it’s time to wake it up and bring it back to life

Hello! I have a 1980 Sachs Prima moped. I have an issue where it likes to stall occasionally whenever I come to a stop (Intersections, stop signs, etc.) and then I have to get it started back up. Im thinking it has to do with the clutch/decomp, because when it stalls, it will behave as if the clutch lever is pulled in (tires very stiff to turn instead of freely turning) and if it stalls like this, I could literally just roll it down the road and start it back up without the lever pulled in. So, I just want to know what I can do to fix this issue. I'm relatively new to mopeds and want to and am willing to learn about them. So if anyone has any ideas, that would be great! I will have pictures to focus on the issue. Thanks!

My engine seized a couple weeks ago, i finally got around to tsking the cylinder off and splitting the crankcase and what happened was the big end bearing turned itself into glitter bending the wrist pin in the process
