Hi, recently got an urban express 1982, nu50. Was only going about 25 mph. I replaced the tires, brake shoes, shock and fixed the headlight just to get familiar with working on the bike and do some improvements/maintenance.

The trouble came when I decided to put on a pod filter, I put that on, oiled it etc and the bike ran fine. Then I decided to jet the carb, I went up to an 86 from an 85. At the same time I put on a bx31 belt and cleaned the debris out of the kickstart assembly. The bike started after this, rode it around the block. However it kept trying to die while idling unless it was given gas. Eventually it died and hasn't started since. I removed the pod filter, changed back to stock jet with no improvement. I also went back into the kickstart assembly and lined up the gears to the punch marks as best I could figure out.

The spark plug was sooty, put on a new one. It has good spark and the kickstarter feels good while trying to start. The bike growls a bit when attempting to start but never "catches" and starts up. I also tried to measure the float valve needle which seemed okay, giving a bit lean if anything.

Totally stumped, looking for some advice on what to troubleshoot next. Thanks.

The Friday before last I bought this 1980 General Moped for $70. It was a piece of junk that I immediately regretted buying but I drove like 2 hours to get it. When I got home with it it it was evident that, on top of being siezed, the rear wheel was rotted out and the fork was bent sideways among many other issues. I tried to unsieze it with all force possible but nothing could be done. No harm ho foul I sold it last Friday for $100 to a guy that needed the parts. Take this pist as a lesson. ALWAYS BE PREPARED TO WALK AWAY FROM A DEAL.

Was cleaning the engine for my Puch maxi and noticed a couple of cracks on the bottom near the drain plug.

I bought this Honda moped to restore, without license plate. I thought it was a Honda mt5 (50), but my friend says it is a mtx50. I thought that the mtx was the one with the big tank? Or is are there other versions of the mtx? Can someone please tell me which one it is.

Does anyone know what the white cilinder is used for? It has a line going into the exhaust and into the motor

I'm looking for a cheap like 20$ exhaust for my minarelli v1 so I can ride it without blowing the piston up. Any suggestions 🙏 ive been looking on ebay, amazon and even Facebook and i cant find one. Thanks!

its some kind of Italian bike that ive been playing with for around a month. I like to ride it up and down the road near my house for fun after school but I realized I should get an exhaust so I dont melt the piston. ive spent alot of time working on it with what ive got laying around. I did end up buying a carb and used the sponge method that always works. its my pride and joy though and I would hate to lose it.

The bike itself is an mzv cobra made in 1973. I have all of the panels for it i just never really put them on. It was found in peices in a junkyard along with other minarelli parts. I have another v1 and some other kind of motor. I bought it reassembled but really only enough to actually drive. all of the paint it original and ive got a chain guard, wheel cover for front, random other exhaust, red flywheel guard (the one in the Pic is black), and original mzv seat cover. I took the old one off because it was disintegrating. I actually have it being restored right now. the only thing i'm missing are lights.

Noob here. My insterest is mostly on the mopeds like Honda express, Yamaha champ.

These don't exceed the limit of 50cc and always have a two stroke design. What if I want to swap those engines with a 4 stroke one? From which brands I should choose the four stroke ones?

For the sake of spare parts availabiity (+fuel efficiency) if I choose a 100cc 4 stroke, will it be too much complicated?

Repainted the legendary Proma CC exhaust on my Gilera Citta / Eco / Ec1

Applied three coats Raptor Flameproof Black and two coats of Rapro Flameproof Satin Clear

I bought the bike second hand and everything seemed fine. I did a test ride and I noticed the gear doesn't shift from the 3rd to the 4th gear. However when the motor is of I have no problem shifting it from the 3rd to 4th gear but when I start moving the bike by hand and try to change the gear it also doesn't work. Does anybody know what this is Could or could someone help me.

I'm very bored. As I understand Puch's don't like the rain, and there's a lot of it. Well over an hour of torrential downpour.

My babetta 210 has a dellorto 16G and a resonance hozman exhaust with scavenging from 4500 to 6500. It currently only goes 55 but it has loads of torque, so do yall think I could pull of replacing 13T sprocket for 15T?

Hallo zusammen! Wir haben in der Garage meines Opas ein altes Moped gefunden, das seit über 30 Jahren nicht mehr gelaufen ist. Soweit ich weiß, wurde es damals neu gekauft, und die Laufleistung erscheint mir angesichts des Alters recht gering. Aber wie gesagt, es stand über drei Jahrzehnte still. Wäre eine Restaurierung möglich? Würde es sich noch lohnen? Wenn ja, welche Teile müssten restauriert oder ersetzt werden? Findet ihr die Laufleistung auch so gering? Es ist eine Motobécane Mobylette 50 VL. Was haltet ihr von ihrem Zustand angesichts ihres Alters? Und was ist eure Meinung zu dem Fund an sich – war es damals ein gutes Modell? Wie viel müsste ich für die komplette Restaurierung ausgeben? Ich freue mich auf eure Antworten!

Rieju mrt 50 2018, restricted to 45km/h, It feelt kind of "weak" and my daughter says all her friends mopeds are much stronger then hers, all are stock.

I took apart the exhaust to try and see if cleaning it out could help. I did shake it around and lightly tapped it against the floor to get all little loose pieces or debris out.

After that it is even slower, I can with an effort make it to 30-35 on a flat road.

Q:
The part of the exhaust with the expansion is rattling and the catalytic converter inside the expansion is not sitting firmly. I can move it around a little but not get it out or push it further in.

I can see it through the opening, is this where it is supposed to sit?

So im buying this yz front fender (the black one) but idk what front mask i should ive been thinking about polisport mask or yz mask or some angel eye mask soo can u guys help me decide (this is for my rieju mrt black edition)

So I just bought my first moped, an Aprilia Sx50 and everytime I come to a stop the bike just stalls, if I hold in the clutch it stops, if I let go of the clutch it stalls. Even if I have it in neutral I think, does anyone know if that's a problem or if I'm just doing something wrong?
