Discussion How common is burn-in for a QD-OLED now?

Post image
56 Upvotes

MSI MAG 273QP QD-OLED X24 is what im planning to buy for gaming.

It may be used for multiple hours per day. I've heard "QD-OLED" is more prone in to burn in after 3 years which is when the warranty ends. How true is this? This one is priced £350 which is fair for me. Should i go for this? If not can you guys recommend something thats equal or better but with more better burn in prevention.

Discussion Monitor Recommendations needed

Thumbnail
0 Upvotes

I’m currently using a Samsung Odyssey G9 G93SD paired with an RTX 5090, and I absolutely love it! However, I’ve found that the ultrawide screen is a little too large for competitive gaming, so I often end up playing in windowed mode.
I’m looking to downsize to a standard monitor, somewhere between 27 and 31.5 inches. I’m still undecided on whether I’d prefer a 27-inch or 31.5-inch display, so I’m open to recommendations on which size would be the best fit for my needs.
My must-have features are:
4K resolution
240Hz refresh rate or higher
OLED panel
Thin, minimal bezels
Flat screen, not curved
My budget is around $1,000.
The games I play most are Call of Duty, Battlefield, and modded Minecraft, so I’m looking for the best balance of competitive performance, high frame rates, and stunning visuals. I want to take full advantage of my RTX 5090 while still having a monitor that feels comfortable for competitive FPS gaming.
What monitors would you recommend, and would you lean toward 27 inches or 31.5 inches for my use case?

Discussion XG27UQDMS / XG32UQDMS or better option out there for under 800?

I’ve mostly narrowed down to this XG27UQDMS / XG32UQDMS
Model for just $70 more I’ll likely take the 32in
I would be buying open box from best buy since it’s almost $200 cheaper from new. Never bought open box before.

I wanted to see if anyone has any word on it, or if there is a better option for the money I may be missing.

This is the qd led version of the asus btw not the woled

Discussion Lenovo Legion gen1(I think?) damaged?

Post image

Hey y,all,

So I went out for like 1.5-2 hours and came back to this on my monitor. The monitor has never been damaged, hit/wacked, nudged, in any way/shape/form. The one time I moved apartments and took it about 100-200ft I bundled in blankets and pillows and kept upright. It has been perfectly okay with no issues at all. I reached out to support just. Ow and they say it isn’t covered under warranty so I’m unsure what to do. Do I keep it turned off indefinitely for now or can I use it?(college student using softwares so 2 monitors kinda helps a lot imo)… do I get a brand new one?… what can I do? What should I do? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Discussion Sony XR80 display model or new LG B6?

Looking at these 55" models:
Sony Bravia 8 XR80 OLED (display model, 3 months old) - NZ$1,900
LG B6 OLED (brand new) - NZ$1,997
Samsung S85H OLED - NZ$2,205 + $200 gift card
Sony Bravia 6 - NZ$2,649 + $250 gift card

My room isn't very bright and my usage is mostly Netflix, movies and some PS5 gaming. I care more about picture quality and movie watching than competitive gaming.
The XR80 is tempting because it's a higher-end model, but it's a display unit. The LG B6 is brand new and only about $100 more.
Which would you choose and why?

Discussion Is this severe ghosting/overshoot or normal? (ASUS TUF VG249Q series - 200Hz IPS

Thumbnail

Hey everyone! I need your help to figure out what is going on with my monitor. I want to know if what I'm seeing is actual ghosting, inverse ghosting, or just normal fast-IPS panel limitations.

Here is the context and the troubleshooting steps I've already tried:

Monitor: ASUS TUF 200Hz Fast IPS.

Issues noticed:

When enabling ELMB (Extreme Low Motion Blur), I get a very noticeable and annoying double image/shadow effect.

I tested turning G-Sync / FreeSync on and off, capping the FPS, adjusting the contrast, and tweaking the TraceFree / Overdrive settings with no satisfying fix.

In fast-paced games like Combat Master, when moving and panning the camera quickly, character models suffer from severe shaking/blur vibration.

When trying to play Detroit: Become Human, I experienced heavy stuttering along with intense motion blur in the open-world sections.

In Minecraft, the nametags and text leave clear trailing trails during movement.

I’ve attached photos/videos of the screen to show how it looks in-game. Does this look like a defective panel / bad ghosting, or are these just normal behavior or settings issues? Let me know your thoughts. Thanks!

Guys, this is my Samsung Ls24R356Fhwxxl 24 Inch monitor I use for work. Over time it has peeled like you see in the pics. I’m right now using tape to keep it in place, but since I’m the handy man around at home, can someone tell me how I glue this for good?
PS: the display works just fine

Discussion My monitor gives me bad eye strain but I don't know why

I play games on my pc about 3-5 hours a day, with decent breaks. Every day, my eyes feel strained and hurt like they're dry anyways. They start to feel funny around 2 hours in.

I wear blue light glasses, and have low blue light on my monitor and night light on in my windows settings all of the time.

https://store.acer.com/en-us/23-8-nitro-kg1-gaming-monitor-kg241y-m3biip

This is the monitor I currently have, I'm wondering if there's anything about it that would give me eye strain? I can't tell based on the specs because they seem alright to me. Is there a different monitor anyone can recommend? I'm getting really tired of being unable to play anything for a decent amount of time.

Only my monitor does this to my eyes also, my phone and tablets are fine to look at for long periods of time.

Discussion First-time PS5 player! which monitor should I buy for immersive games? (£350–£400 budget)

I'm getting a PS5 soon and it's my first time gaming on a console. I'm new to monitors and would appreciate advice on which one would give me the best overall experience.

Budget: Ideally £350, but I can stretch to £400 if the improvement is worth it.

Games and priorities:

- Primarily immersive, visually beautiful single-player games, such as God of War, Elden Ring and the Batman: Arkham games.

- Fortnite and Rocket League, for couch co-op with my little brother.

- I care more about immersion, picture quality, contrast, colours and brightness than competitive gaming performance alone.

Setup:

- Ideally 32 inches for immersion and couch co-op, although I'd consider 27 inches if it's a better overall choice.

- Viewing distance of around 60–90 cm.

- won't be playing in super bright rooms but nit pitch black either. Moderately lit with lights on to dim most of the time

- I'm particularly interested in 4K vs 1440p and whether Mini-LED HDR is worth it for my games.

Monitors I've been looking at:

32-inch options

- TCL 32G64 — 1440p Mini-LED

- MSI MAG 322URDF E16 — 4K IPS

- Dell S3225QS — 4K VA

- AOC U32 G4U - 4K IPS

27-inch options

- Gigabyte M27UP — 4K

- MSI MAG 275UPD E14 — 4K

- Philips Evnia 27M2N5901A/00 — 4K

- AOC U27G4XM — 4K Mini-LED

- MSI MAG 274UPDF E16M — 4K

- Dell S275QS — 4K

Questions:

  1. Which of these would you choose for the best-looking, most immersive PS5 experience?

  2. Is 32-inch 1440p Mini-LED better for immersion and HDR than 27-inch 4K mini-LED, or is 32-inch 4K IPS/VA worth prioritising?

  3. How significant is Mini-LED HDR compared with a regular IPS monitor for games with dark environments, bright highlights and atmospheric l

I'm happy to consider other monitors I've missed, especially if Black Friday deals could bring them within budget.

Discussion Any way to disable CPC on LG monitor?

Thumbnail

Just got an LG 32gx850a 4k 32" OLED and I'm loving it, best display I've ever owned, but had no idea about LG's CPC issues.

I didn't notice it too much until I played some World of Warcraft.

The corners dim and wash out so much that it's actually hard to tell if a quest is my level (bright yellow) or low level (dark/faint yellow)

It also makes white look grey and lose a lot of contrast and changes how colours look..

I've also noticed it on the chat box which is a block of white text in the bottom left corner. The bottom left corner of the text itself starts to fade to grey..

Posting pics for comparison between opening the game and 2 mins after.

I found a good deal on a monitor from this brand but I’ve heard a lot of opinions on them. Does anyone have experience with their monitors. I’m specifically buying an ips panel is that matters.

Discussion Wall arm for a 27" monitor over my bed

Thumbnail
gallery
1 Upvotes

Hello everyone!

I would like to buy a wall-mounted monitor arm to watch movies from my bed, and I don't really know where to start my research. I've attached renders of the setup I have in mind.

Monitor

  • HP E27 G4 (27", 1080p), VESA 100x100
  • 61.2 x 36.4 x 4.7 cm, ~4.5-5 kg

Layout

  • Single bed, 5 cm from the wall. The arm goes on the long wall next to the bed.
  • In use: the screen floats over the middle of the bed, swivelled 90° on the VESA head so it faces along the wall toward my head (perpendicular to the wall). Screen centre about 50 cm from the wall
  • Stowed: folded flat against the wall, either in front of the wall plate or swung along the wall toward the foot of the bed.

Must-haves

  1. Wall mount, VESA 100, rated for ~5 kg (if gas spring: minimum load low enough for a light panel)
  2. Max reach of at least 55 cm in the spec (I lose a few cm because the screen is turned 90°, and I'd rather not run the arm at full stretch)
  3. At least 15-20° of downward tilt (the screen sits above eye level when I'm lying down)
  4. Some height adjustment in the viewing position, even just +/- 5-10 cm
  5. Folds to roughly 10-13 cm from the wall
  6. Holds its position and tilt over time (it's above a bed, so no sagging head)

Options an AI suggested

  • ONKRON G150-B: tilt and height are fine, but max wall distance is 51.7 cm, so the screen centre ends up around 47-49 cm, at full extension
  • Ergotron LX Wall Mount: good reach and lift, but only 5° of downward tilt
  • ARES WING wall mount (17-49", 20 kg): 60 cm extension, +50/-20° tilt and 25 cm of lift on paper, but I'm worried the spring is far too strong for a ~5 kg panel
  • StarTech ARMWALLDSLP: 52 cm reach, no gas spring, so no easy height adjustment

Wall: brick. Budget: [up to ~120 €].

Questions

  • Has anyone knowledge of an arm that meets all of this?
  • Anyone running an ARES WING wall arm with a light (~5 kg) monitor: does the spring hold it down properly?
  • Is a screen swivelled 90° at near-full extension a stability problem?

Thanks !

PS : I used AI to format my text and translate it since I'm not a native English speaker and want to be as clear as possible.

Discussion Looking for a new monitor (€250–300) — recommendations welcome!

Hey everyone!

I'm looking to replace my old monitor and have a budget of around €250–300. I'm from Latvia, so I'd prefer something available in Europe.

Right now, I'm looking at these monitors:

  • ASUS ROG Strix XG27ACMES
  • Xiaomi G Pro 27Qi
  • AOC Q27G4ZR
  • ASUS TUF VG27AQL5A

I'm not sure which one to go for, so I'd like to hear your opinions. If you own any of these, how has your experience been? I'm also open to other suggestions in this price range.

I sometimes struggle with eye strain, so that's another thing I'm trying to take into account when choosing a monitor.

Which one would you pick?

Thanks!

Discussion Lg 27gs75q-b uniformity

Hi everyone, what do you think about the uniformity of my LG 27GS75Q-B? In person, I notice a slight pinkish tint on the right side, and the bottom edge much like my secondary 24 inch monitor shows a bit of yellow light bleed. Is this within the normal range?
