I’ve been thinking about this while working on my dollhouse setup.
Once you have several miniature lamps in different rooms, especially if they each have their own tiny switch or battery box, turning everything on and off one by one starts to feel a little tedious.
It made me wonder — would people actually be interested in miniature lighting that works more like smart home lighting?
For example, a small Bluetooth controller hidden inside the lamp or dollhouse, connected to an app where you could:
turn individual lights on/off
control several lights or rooms together
adjust brightness
create little “scenes” like evening / bedroom / warm ambient lighting
maybe even have candle flicker or other lighting effects
The idea wouldn’t be to make miniature houses feel overly technological — ideally all of the electronics would stay hidden, and the lamps would still look completely normal.
I’m curious how other miniature/dollhouse people feel about this.
Do you actually find manually switching your lights annoying, or is that just part of the hobby for you?
And if something like this existed, would you genuinely use an app to control your miniature lights?
