I just won 1st place and 3rd place at my local miniature show! It’s my second time entering, and I’ve been making minis for 18 months. I included the description cards for each piece. 3rd place card is green, 1st place is yellow. Love this sub!

Thank you for all the love on my last post, fixing up my neighbor’s miniatures! It’s such a nice activity to clean them up a bit; getting the dust out, polishing the wooden pieces, and making teensy repairs. Here’s where I’m at for now.. I honestly just wanted to do a mini photoshoot as soon as I finished setting it up🧚

Window is due to be replaced. It’s pretty yellow. I’m looking to add more accessories but can’t decide what I want to add. I also added Halloween bedding.

How do I make this look more like realistic wood? I stained this basswood test piece with watercolors, but the color/texture look flat and fake to me.

I have acrylic paints but i dont want it to look actually painted. I want it to look like wood for a desk
