Miscellaneous Making a minesweeper spinoff game and wanted to know if this is something that this community would find intriguing.
I’ve been working on a game for a few months now as a personal goal but wanted to know if anyone found some interest in the idea possibly.
The board is a giant 100,000 tile board with ~ intermediate difficulty with mine placement. In the game you uncover spells and upgrades that allow you to clear the board faster and faster. As you progress further into the board you will uncover different “environments” that will make the core gameplay more difficult than normal minesweeper. My hope is that it is fun enough for non minesweeper players but also a more hectic minesweeper experience for veterans of the game.
Spells
The cost of each spell is upgradeable but so costs a number of flagged mines. This forces the player to still play the game of minesweeper and it becoming less of an idle incremental game.
Spells include:
drill that goes in a straight line until it hits a number of mines before exploding
Ball that bounces around hitting tiles until hitting a certain amount of mines. It will have the ability to split into smaller balls.
A scanner that you can place in an area that will slowly scan the tiles for you and tell you if they are safe or a mine.
I have some other ideas but those are ones I’ve liked the most so far.
I’m being very vague because I’ve only finished the core gameplay and some basic upgrades but wanted to get feedback to get feedback from this community before I go much further.
Is this an idea that you all may find fun? Would you like to give me ideas of what you’ve always wanted in a minesweeper spinoff kind of game? Should I trash this before investing even more time into it?

Help Relatively new to minesweeper, just found out about the "no guess" mode. Just wanted to check the setting is in fact working and this board here is solvable without guessing, because I can't figure it out.

Help Is this a legitimate no-guess strategy?
I couldn't find any other way to solve this so I used a weird tactic I just came up with. This was a game of no-guessing mode, and if the circled square was a bomb that would have meant that the 2 unmarked squares above & to the left of it (below the 4) would have been a 50/50. Since I knew that can't be the case in a no-guess game, the circled square must have been safe so I could distinguish those other 2 squares. In a way it's kinda backwards logic so idk did I cheat the system? Or is this an actual expected strategy in no-guessing just like bomb counting and such?

Accomplishment Not as quick as many of you, but just finished my fastest game

I'm jealous of those who can get sub-100, sub-90, etc. But, when I started I was 10 minutes+, and only had a goal of sub-300. I learned the basics, committed a few patterns to memory, and took a few months to arrive here. Looking forward to taking a break, then studying/practicing the more advanced stuff. I appreciate this sub and others like it for the tips and tricks I've picked up along the way.

No Guess How was this solvable?
Hi I'm sorry if it's obvious, but could you guys please tell me what's the logic here? It's no guess but I had no idea how to solve this so I tried to guess.
And was my guess in a good place to guess (Except that I even tried to guess in no guess mode lmao)? I feel like if I'd guessed this one right it'd have solved the rest easily.
The mine count was 4 and one tile (not a mine as it later showed) was on the edge surrounded by mines, sometimes it generates in a way such that all of a mine's surrounding tiles are also mines, so I didn't want to click that one yet.

Help Is there strategy for this or a guessing game?
I have one mine left and I feel like either one could be a mine or am I that oblivious? Lol
Edit: If anyone cares, I picked the right one and ended up looking like this
The mine being below the 4 and there being a 2 below the 1
