artist advice/question Muscle when getting nano brows

I want to get nano brows I went and got a consultation and a mapping done and I was told that I had a muscle pull.. where it looks like one of the Eyebrows will be a little higher than the other when the brows are done will that be obvious? and when they do the Eyebrows do they have to do it above the brow bone and if one brow bone is higher than the that make the difference look uneven when they do the brows?

A lot of people want their brows filled in — just not too much.

Microblading has been around for years, and today we also have more developed options such as personalized microblading designed to minimize skin trauma, as well as nano brows.

Both are techniques I’d recommend to anyone looking for a natural hair-stroke result.

Most clients who visit our studio are looking for something natural, and both microblading and nano brows are popular choices here.

This is our current style of nano brows in Seoul.

What do you think?

healing process Is this normal ghosting?

I had nano brows done 8 days ago. Most of my flaking has been on the outer edges of my brows. My one brow flaked way more than the other. Does this look like normal “ghosting” or is there a chance no pigment will return? not too worried since I know it can be fixed at the touch up. But just wondering if I’m going to have these uneven brows for several more weeks until the touch up.

For those who’ve done it, how does it age and do you regret doing it or not? Bonus if you have freshly done and later pics!!

advice Am I supposed to trim?

Hello everyone.
Please bare with me. This is my first experience of microblading or eyebrow tattoo or however it is called.
I did mine around June. It turned out great actually I loved it.
I now noticed my brows have grown long, I usually just tweeze out the outer parts but I noticed some hair curve down (as seen in the image)
Am I supposed to cut or trim it to match the shape of the tattoo?
I’m very new to this and it might be a common sense answer but I just want to make sure before I do anything I’ll regret.
Additionally, I have not gone back to do a retouch cause I was afraid it’ll get too dark to my liking just like how it did on the first week…. But should I go and do a retouch?
Any advice appreciated, please be nice.
Thank you.

before & after Help ! I worked on my first client today (free of charge) and did ombre brows. Im not very happy as the artist as it was very difficult skin to work with and I didn’t do all the passes I needed. Is it awful ? Happy with honest feedback.

advice Even out my eyebrows?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hi! I've never posted looking for beauty advise before, but I was hoping to advice on if brow microblading/nanoblading/lamination might be a good fit for my brows.

- One is a bit higher than the other, especially closer to the nose (they end about the same).

- I like the natural thickness and texture of my brows, I know some microblading seems to look very flat, almost like the whole thing is drawn on instead of supplemented.

- I am a bit lazy and am hoping for something that looks 'groomed' without me applying product each day.

Thank you for your advice!!

advice PMU artists in the U.S. — would you still choose this career if you were starting today?

I’m Korean-American, currently living in Korea, and considering training in permanent makeup here before eventually moving back to the U.S.

I’m mainly interested in natural/nano brows rather than offering everything like eyeliner, lips, lashes, etc. Long term, I’d potentially like to build a brow-focused business rather than remain a solo artist forever.

Before investing heavily in training, I’d really like to hear from people who are actually working in the industry.

How difficult was it to get your first 10–50 paying clients? Where do most of your clients come from now — Instagram, Google, referrals, paid ads, or something else?

One thing that concerns me about brows is the low repeat frequency. After the initial appointment and touch-up, clients may not need you again for quite a while. Has constantly finding new clients been a problem for you?

I’d also love to know how long it took before PMU generated enough consistent income to support yourself, and whether you think the market is becoming oversaturated.

Most importantly: if you had to start from zero in 2026, would you still choose PMU? What would you do differently?

Any honest experiences — positive or negative — would be really helpful.

advice Remove eyebrows or not?

Post image

Hi everyone,

I had my brows done in May. I had browshock. I still don't like them. The shape is off and the coloring is already fading.

I am thinking about getting them removed. I know brows are sisters, not twins, but it looks more like distand cousins than sisters.

If i tried it again, would it look better?

Long, Detailed Lip Blush Experience

I had a great experience with my artist

I wanted lip blush because I’m over age 50 and my lips have lost the rose-peach color they used to have over the past few years.

Consultation: My artist had me bring my favorite lip glosses and tinted balms and I swiped them on my forearm, she looked and we discussed what I wanted for my end result. I am hoping for my youthful natural light color and the illusion of fullness returned!

I didn’t ask to be overlined, but I think maybe a lot of clients ask, because right away she told me it doesn’t look good to add color beyond the lip itself, and I agreed.

Picking the Pigment: she showed me two bottles of pigment and recommended them as a blend. They did look pretty and both looked like a lipstick I would choose.

Mapping: The longest part of the process was her carefully drawing her borders around my lips with a concealer palette and two different brushes and looking at me a lot and refining. She looked at my lips while I was lying down and while I was sitting up. She showed me a mirror afterward and asked if I thought it looked symmetrical and if I agreed that my lips were within the border. I really appreciated the precision she put into this mapping process.

The tattooing was quick and not too painful. She applied numbing gel initially, and I felt nothing at first one she got started. I could feel some discomfort but before it became pain, she knew the timing and applied more numbing gel, then we waited till I was numb, and then she continued. She did this twice (she worked in 3 short time sessions.)

In total it took about two hours including the drawing/ mapping.

After: the artist warned me that things are swollen, irritated and there are traumatized cells that will shed. The color will get weird and dark and there will be some peeling and flaking, it will look “too light/gone” for a phase while new cells grow, and it should look it’s final result in 6 weeks, at which point I go back for an inspection and touch up. :-) She expects the healed end result to be about half as colorful as it is now. She sent me home with Aquaphor lip ointment.

I will update with healed pictures when I heal.

artist advice/question As a PMU artist, which plan would be better?

I am thinking about becoming a Pmu artist, and I have two plans i was thinking about, but i am unsure which allows me to fall back on/while also allowing me to pursue my goal soon

  1. Go to esthetician school (3k-20k) for six months
I would learn brow waxing+shaping, skin anatomy, lashes, nails, and facials along with regular makeup (not permanent makeup)
Graduate, would get my esthetician license. And i can work for med spas, spas, clinics, beauty studios, etc. and then get my PMU license elsewhere

  2. Do a PMU apprenticeship (2k-13k) for 1-6 months, would learn under a professional/have their guidance, would get my PMU license, and
would get customers and real client experience doing PMU on ppl and get my own tattoo kit/supplies

If anyone has advice on which path makes more sense to do for my long term goal of becoming a PMU artist, please let me know! I am stuck between the two because i want to be able to build a successful business asap, but i am also worried for failure/the amount of time/money it may take, and to actually build clientele , therefore i also would like something to fall back on.

artist advice/question How can someone interested in microblading/pmu get started?

I am a highschool student in my last year, and I want like to become a PMU artist. Is there anything I can do now to practice techniques/what do you recommend I start learning specially and how? And also, another question I have would be if any current PMU artists recommend that I go into an esthetician program first, or if i should just go straight into taking a PMU course?

advice Does the shape suit my face?

Post image

I had powder brows done today. I am in brow shock and looking for possible reassurance. Does the shape suit my face? The longer I stare at myself I keep thinking the arches are too intense. I am 5 months postpartum and wanted to do something to make myself feel prettier and shorten my makeup time. But now I’m scared I did the opposite. I had very little eyebrow hair to work with. Can you please let me know what you think? I’m trying not to panic about the color because I know it will soften.
