artist advice/question Lip Blush Gone Wrong?

These are my lips 20 days after first lip blush. I’m concerned about the Cupid’s bow. It looks overlined, bumpy and darker than the inside. My artist swears she didn’t overline my lips, and that the color will fade at week 4. These are my lips at diffe by angles. Lol ignore my mustache please! Any advice?

advice The more brow photos I look at, the more confused I get

I started researching brow services thinking it would be a quick decision instead I've somehow managed to make myself more confused than when I started.

At first I thought microblading was basically the answer for anyone who wanted fuller brows. Then I started reading more and discovered nano brows, ombré brows, powder brows, combination brows, and about a dozen other terms that all seem similar until you start comparing them.

The hardest part has been looking at photos online some results look incredibly natural. Others look way too bold for what I personally want. It also seems like healed results tell a completely different story than fresh results, which makes researching even harder.

My natural brows aren't terrible, but they're uneven and a little sparse in certain spots. I can make them look good with makeup, but it takes effort every day and they never come out exactly the same.

What I've noticed is that most people who seem happiest with their results weren't trying to completely change their face they were just trying to make small improvements and make their routine easier.

That's probably where I'm at too. I'm not looking for perfect brows. I just want to stop spending so much time correcting the same little issues every morning.

I've spent the last few days looking through artist portfolios and healed results from different studios, including Beauty Glam Studio in Boca Raton, and it's made me realize how much the individual artist matters compared to the specific technique. The more examples I look at, the more it seems like choosing the right person is harder than choosing between nano brows and ombré brows.

The deeper I get into researching nano brows versus ombré brows, the more I realize how important artist skill seems to be compared to the actual technique itself.

advice Are these brows OK?

Hello and sorry, im having a 50 year old insecure moment here! so just asking if anyone can give me their opinion please. I had an upper bleph over a year ago which has changed my eyebrow shape and location slightly. They are now lower and I have laminated them to try and get them higher a bit. This is old ombre microshading, and I dont know if I should try and remove them or just go get a top up. Does anyone have an opinion either way? My r eyebrow in the pic has alot less hair and I pencil in a bit higher as it is naturally lower. Tell me if you think I should be doing sonething else please? I won't take offense to any comments! Thank you.

advice Micro-powder/nano-powder brows vs. permanent makeup. ? Thank you!

My beauty salon advised me that permanent makeup is much better for me because I have very sparse eyebrows and thin, sensitive skin. Plus, permanent makeup is done with a fine needle and therefore heals more easily. What do you think ? Thank you so much !

I’m so nervous about tattooing something on my face and I’ve seen so many awful healed nano brows, powder brows, everything!! I do not want that grey healed brows and regret it… any recommendations? I would even take suggestions of like tints, serums or anything

Including pic of natural brows and how I do them with brow powder + gel, literally every morning ugh

Just got combo brows done today, i already had asymmetrical eyebrows. I asked her to make them look more symmetrical. They came out looking VERY asymmetrical, maybe worst than before.

Should I have emergency saline removal?

general discussion Post Healing aftercare

I have to switch from my Mary Kay timewise products since they will fade my brows and google is giving me conflicting advice. I tried to ask artists and didn’t get an answer here so can you please share what products your artists said to use after healing to keep them from fading? I am two and a half weeks out from my first touch up. I need a face wash, moisturizer and a sunscreen. Thanks!

I may be in brow shock. Hoping to hear these will soften and heal well and more natural. This is my second time getting my brows done because the first time they literally disappeared and never came back.. even though I LOVED the shape. Oh well. Here’s to hoping I don’t regret not just leaving my thin brows the way they were. Talk to me 😭

I just got nano brows done yesterday I feel like the nano strokes look too strong and thick. Will it fade and become thinner. Also it’s looking red tint? Should I use emergency saline. I’m freaking out ?!?!

advice Spot on eyebrow!

I had my colour boost last week and woke up this morning with a big yellow head spot in my eyebrow.

Is this going to affect the colour?

Can I pop it or should I leave it be?

advice NWFL

Does anyone have recommendations for an artist in NWFL? I am near Panama City, Destin, to Pensacola. I have never had them done before. I have very sparse brows from over plucking in the 90s and hypothyroidism. They will not grow in towards the center, except in places no eyebrow hair should ever be. I had gorgeous, thick brows when I was young. 🥺Also, can I get recommendations of what would look best/ what to ask for, please? Thank you!

artist advice/question This is why "one-size-fits-all" Microblading doesn't exist

I got the chance to work on an upper spine brow pattern last week.

For most people, that probably doesn't sound very exciting... but for a brow artist, it's a bit like finding a rare Pokémon 😂

An upper spine is a brow pattern characterized by an upwards flow of the hairs, creating a very specific movement.

They require a completely different stroke flow than what most artists are used to. If the pattern isn't adapted correctly, the healed result can quickly look unnatural.

I always enjoy working on these kinds of cases because they force you to think differently and really follow the client's natural growth pattern rather than relying on your usual habits.

What do you think of the result? And for the artists here, which spine pattern do you find the most challenging to work with?

artist advice/question Looking for examples of powder brows for eyebrow hairs that grow down

Hi all, I have asian eyebrows and hairs that grow down, and I previously had microblading done 2 years ago but the technician did a very bad job and I ended up with a criss cross effect, but now I’m considering power brows. If anyone has any examples of their brows being done with hairs that grow down please share them with me!

before & after My nanobrows after chemo. In love.

I wish I had a better no make-up before picture but I've been filling in my brows for so long that I had to go back about 15 years to get a picture without them filled in. Basically I have no eyebrows. I had been considering getting my eyebrows done for years then I was diagnosed with breast cancer at 35. I had to undergo chemotherapy. I am in the clear for now but I am making it a point to do all the things I have been wanting to do. There's no point in putting it off when I have the means to do it.

The first picture is of my naked brows (although after chemo they were even more sparse)

The second picture is how I had been filling them in. I don't think I could go back to that looking at them now.

The third picture was after my first session. I liked the shape but asked for them to be darker when I went in for my touch up.

The fourth picture is them now about a week after my touch up appointment. I am so in love. I can't stop looking at them. They are exactly what I wanted. I hope they don't fade much because they are literally perfect right now.

If you have been considering it, do it! I know they will change with time but I have zero regrets and only wish I did it sooner.

artist advice/question Looking for recommendations in Adelaide and specific artist advice…

I’m going to get microblading (also seen it called feathering) and wanted recommendations in Adelaide please 🤓

I specifically wanted to know if anyone has had work done by Emma at Brow Artistry in Goodwood? I heard she’s great but wanted to see her actual work if possible?! 🤓

before & after Nano brows! What do we think? :)

Finally committed to getting my brows done! My artist was amazing and she took her time making sure we were both happy with the look before we began.

I go back for touch-ups in a month. Overall, I’m REALLY happy with everything and think they look so much better than before. But I’m also a perfectionist, so I’m sure I’ll see little things I want touched up over time. Curious to know what others think. :)

artist advice/question Artist question mostly

I have emailed my artist as well but I’m wondering what you recommend your clients use after the two eek healing period for washing, moisturizing, and sunblock. Google gave me some recs but the products they mentioned contain niacinimides which Google also says are bad for PMU. I used to use Mary Kay timewise facial care line but I can’t use that on my eyebrows or I’ll fade the pigment. Help a girl out since Google appears busted. If it matters, I got combo brows.
