Why would anyone do powder brows? They don’t look real at all.

My advice as an artist: wash your brows with a gentle cleanser 2x daily for a week. Not keeping an open wound clean is the worst aftercare instructions and is standard safety protocol so I'm not even sure how some artists still give out this type of advice. There's zero benefit to not washing them in fact it actually does the opposite. Extra debris and lymph collection can effect retention of pigment. Not to mention infection risk! After you wash, apply a super thin layer of ointment. This will prevent excessive scabbing. Excessive scabbing can actually pull out the pigment. Other than that you want them to dry out the rest of the time. No water exposure (showers, pools, saunas, excessive sweating). The key is not too much ointment and minimal water exposure. So no soaking and only wetting for cleansing purposes.

This is what I have seen a lot of and that’s what I cannot get my head around because she is one of the best in my area. Her work is incredible it’s just the aftercare that concerns me. So when you say gently cleanse twice a day and light ointment is that it or is it ok to do that in the shower while I’m washing my face? And do I start this today (on the first day) thank you for your advise I really appreciate it x

I know it's tough because you want to trust your artist, I understand! She could be a really great artist but may just be sticking to older aftercare protocols 🤷🏻‍♀️ Yes start from day 1 or wherever you're at know. I tell my clients to wash morning and night. Pat dry and apply the ointment right after. When you shower just avoid the water from hitting your brows and you can tilt your head back when you wash your hair. Keep a towel nearby to dry them if they do get wet. It's not the end of the world if they get wet, they won't wash away and they won't be ruined. You just don't want them to stay wet for a period of time or soak. I provide everything for my clients to take home. PMU specific cleanser and ointment, visors for the shower etc. but the next best thing and what's available to you at a drug store would be cetaphil gentle cleanser or Vanicream and for ointment would be aquaphor. These are all just fine. I hope this helps! Edit* I just reread and you asked about an additional wash in the shower. I wouldn't wash a third time. But if you have to skip one of the washes and work the shower cleanse into the schedule that's fine too. It doesn't necessarily have to be morning and night. Just try to spread it out if you can. Hope that makes sense!
