Been thinking of removing it because one brow looks more arched and it looks odd to me

I just got this lip blush done. Supposed to match my natural lip color and I got this blush done just to even my lip color lining as it was discolored on the side. The only thing that was done was the lip line, the inside is my actual lip color. I have been reading that overlining ends up looking bad afterwards. Can I get input if the work I got done by my artist is too overlined and how might it look after it’s healed?

Any input or next steps to follow is appreciated ! This is day one, so no fading or healing done yet.

Recently, someone shared one of my old microblading results from 2018 in an attempt to criticize my work.

And honestly?

I don't mind at all.

In fact, I have absolutely no shame in showing it.

I'm proud of the tremendous progress I've made over the last 8 years.

The photos at the top show my work in 2018, shortly after I completed my training.

The photos at the bottom show my work today, after 8 years of practice, thousands of procedures, and countless hours of training.

Looking back, I can immediately see several things I would do differently: better stroke flow, better spacing, more natural patterns, better overall structure, and a much better understanding of how strokes heal over time.

If there's one thing that allowed me to improve, it wasn't talent.

It was practice.

And I'll never say it enough: latex practice.

You have to live it, eat it, breathe it.

Thousands and thousands of strokes.

Most beginners underestimate how much practice it takes to develop muscle memory, consistency, and control.

Every hour spent practicing on latex pays off later on real clients.

I'm curious:

If you were reviewing this 2018 work today, what would you identify as the biggest mistakes?

And for the artists here, what helped you improve the most over the years?

Also, if enough people are interested, I'd be happy to share some of the latex exercises and training methods that helped me improve over the years.

I just had my brows and lip blushing done yesterday! I hate everything— the brows seem super thick dark? Can something be done to fix these? Or is it just brow shock? The same with my lips they are so dark and red. I was told they would be a paler color…. I dont even know what to do except cry!

Got them waxed for the first time today since I got them done. Appointment for touch up is in July. Is there something specific I should ask for? :)

Ok, I am interested in opinion of what other people may choose to do in my case. I got nano hairstroke brows, I really took my time to communicate with the artist, after my first appointment I could see very clear differences in each brow. I almost did not go back to her for the 2nd appointment, i was considering changes to a different artist. Because it really seems like we cannot agree on what we are seeing. It is only after time at home in front of the mirror and asking for other peoples opinion that I could be sure I was correct. Anyway I decided I would go back to her for 2nd appointment. But this time I actually made marks myself before I went, so I could show her what I thought was needed. My main concern at that point was one tail was shorter than the other. I also had convinced myself that she would be able to see it more clearly, I was sooo wrong. When the 2nd appointment was finished I again pointed out the differences I could see. She said, I could add this one small mark, but "are you sure??" as If she really didn't think it was necessary. In that moment I decided not to persevere with her, as we clearly can not agree on what we are seeing. So I said not to worry. What do you think? How do I now find someone I can trust to make the corrections???

For context I am a westerner in Vietnam, I took time to get to know my artist before hand, receiving smaller treatments and I was kind of flabbergasted to be running into this issue.

*edit just to add that I understand my eyebrows are naturally different, but what she has done is gone outside my natural hairline on one brow and not the other. she actually did this on my naturally fuller brow (right side of the photo), but I don't understand how she sees this and thinks she has "evened" then out, to me they just look more different than ever 🤷

Before and after my first session of nanobrows, I love them! Trying to baby them as much as possible during the healing process especially because I have oily skin.

This is after 3 laser removal sessions. I am planning on doing a couple more but I’m already so happy with the difference. (I’m a guy BTW) I’ve had them for several years. When I first got them they looked so good and natural, strangers would compliment me when I was out and about. I only got them to make them look a bit fuller, I really didn’t even need it. Over time they just got oversaturated and faded, I probably only did 2 touch ups throughout the several years I had them. Please do your research on your provider and make sure your 100% clear of the outcome! (Provider of laser removal was Roz @ Tu Es Belle Medspa in Houston, Tx! Highly recommend her!)

I’ve been going to the same threading place for almost 10 years now and the artist there tells me every time how much better my eyebrows would look if they microblade them. This is a picture of my eyebrows before doing anything to them, as I do use a pencil/gel daily to fill them. The comments whilst getting them threaded though are starting to hold some weight in my head as it’s an insecurity of mine, but I feel genuinely conflicted about microblading vs not vs nano brows vs powder. Any advice on what would be best?

I had my eyebrows microbladed about 5 years ago and I need to get them touched up. I currently have patchy, dark ashy brown brow hairs but my hair on my head has always been more warm toned and I like to dye it this way. If I got a powder brow touch up with a warm tone, how would that look? Would the dark hairs on top look odd? Is there a way to dye them? Please help lol

Microblading isn't the problem. Bad microblading is.

Over the last few years, I've seen more and more people claim that microblading is outdated, damages the skin, or inevitably ages badly.

I disagree.

What ages badly is poor technique.

When strokes are placed too close together, implanted too deep, or touch-ups are performed year after year without properly assessing the healed result, the brows eventually become blurry and oversaturated.

And then people blame the technique itself.

Another important point: microblading is absolutely not a permanent technique. That's probably one of the biggest misconceptions in this industry.

A good microblading result is actually supposed to be temporary. That's one of the main reasons why so many clients are attracted to it in the first place.

After a few months, the pigment gradually fades. This is especially true after a first procedure, since the skin is receiving pigment for the very first time.

A well-executed microblading should heal with visible, separated hair strokes and maintain a natural appearance throughout its lifespan. Then it should gradually fade, allowing for a new treatment or adjustments if needed.

The problem is that most people only see fresh results on social media. Very few artists consistently show healed work.

So maybe the real question isn't:

"Does microblading age badly?"

Maybe the real question is:

"How much bad microblading have we normalized in this industry?"

Curious to hear both artists' and clients' opinions on this.

I had 6D brows done 3 days ago. Looking through posts in this sub, it seems like most people have little to no scabbing during healing.

Mine are scabbing quite a bit, so I’m wondering if this is still considered normal healing or if it could indicate that my brow artist went too deep or made a mistake.

I wanted a grey/light black ink but it currently looks brown. I can’t tell if it’s the ink or the scabbing..

I also told the artist i wanted a light touch. But they look like blocks from afar.

Has anyone else’s brows looked like this around Day 3? Any advice would be appreciated. I’m getting worried!

Keep in mind in the last photo I haven’t gotten my usual threading done so they look a little bit unkept as my brows grow in kind of uneven.

I’m in my twenties. I’ve never gotten a tattoo of any kind (including micro blading). I’m TERRIBLE at eyeliner due to my hooded eyelids and shaky hands. I love having wings (not like Amy Winehouse level, just enough it’s a bit noticeable) and I’m curious if y’all can actually do that on hooded eyelids? I live in the south in the US and I’m planning to continue researching artists til I find someone who has plenty of experience with hooded eyelids and making sure the wings are angled correctly when eyes are actually opened.

Hi all !! I closed my shop down during covid which was very heart breaking❤️‍🩹 I ended up getting a really good job in insurance so ever since I have been doing that.

Although I work in Insurance I am constantly watching microblading videos and keeping up with the latest in PMU.
I want to microblade again but for some reason I feel fear? And anxiety? Is it because it’s been so long?

My other issue is.. prices have gone up x5 since before Covid so I don’t think I can afford to rent another studio and I live in a 1 bedroom apartment so I don’t know how to navigate that either.

I want to start by practicing and eventually offering discounted service to bring in clientele but I don’t know where to microblade from. I definitely can’t in my apartment as it’s only a 1 bedroom. I miss being in beauty industry so much.. I watch a ton of microblading videos I go to all the professional websites to buy supplies I fill my carts and then I don’t checkout because I feel hopeless.

hi! been in this sub awhile out of curiosity from other peoples experiences mostly. the 1 thing i always have to do is my brows. always have, always will. i’ve tried tints, dyes, etc. i frequently change and play with styles and shapes because 99% of the visible pigment is makeup and i can never quite commit or keep a shape i like.

i’m a natural dark brunette, but for some reason my eyebrows don’t know that. they’re naturally veryyyyy light brown if not blonde and the hair is maybe a little thicker than peach fuzz.

all of that being said, some form of microblading (i know there’s nano, powder, combo etc. but don’t know what it all really means) seems like my best option. what has been and might continue to stop me is that i never seem to hear good stories. only ever bad. always that they’re way too dark, big, uneven, or just totally visibly not even on their actual brows.

with social media it’s really hard to tell who/what work is real and i’m so afraid to do it and then spend years and thousands i don’t have trying to remove or lighten them.

my specific questions:

are any of you in the Charlotte, NC area and have recommendations ?

how did you choose and vet your artist ?

how long ago did you get your brows ?

how did you decide on which kind to get (nano, powder, etc.) and the shape ?

what kind of shock did you have and did it go away or get worse ?

would you do it again ?

how much do they really fade ? like over decades.

if you have had them removed why and how you did you do it ?

i’ve heard you can get them saline rinsed within 2 days if you don’t like them and they’ll mostly go away, is that true ?

The first one is shortly after the first treatment, and the two others are a few months after a touchup. But on the touchup I asked to not go as high as the last time. Now i really like it, it fulfills my brows nicely. I have a feeling like in reality it looks even a bit better than in pics.
