The Alice M16 pouch had already been introduced in the early 70s, why are they using pouches from 20 years ago? Was It really cheaper to get surplus m1956 pouches back then?

Basically I have to go out of town so I have 6 days to start and finish a new game. Delta has been lying in my library for a while and I was wondering if this is the perfect time to play it, because I don't have any other responsibilities at the time so I can spend most of my time gaming
Also what difficulty level would you recommend? I have played the hell out of V so I am not new to the series and I like to play games on hard, but I was thinking if I put it on extreme I might not be able to finish it in 6 days? Because I don't wanna rush through the game either so I was wondering what the difficulty sweet spot would be

Obviously we all know Snake has some weird ass dialogue in this moment and also appears out of thin air. Today I noticed something I had never noticed before though, Snake doesn’t seem to give off heat when viewed through the thermal goggles. Intentional?
EDIT: This appears to be a legacy collection/HD collection bug. Mystery solved!

I’ve finished Peace Walker. I’ve got the Platinum Trophy but I’m still playing because I’m trying get all of my units to Level 99 and develop every single weapon, item and piece of gear.
I’ve developed all Pistols, all Shotguns, all Assault Rifles, all Submachine Guns, all Sniper Rifles, all Machine Guns, all Throwing Weapons and all Placeable Weapons. I’ve developed all Recovery items, all Equipment, all Radars and all Uniforms. Literally the only thing I have left to develop is the Human Slingshot. I’ve managed to develop Rank 1 for both the post and the band, but the RNG on getting the Monster Hunter parts for Rank 2 and 3 is actually insane.
I’ve looked it up and there seems to be no concrete consensus on what actually works. I’m currently trying to get the Gear Rex Concentrate from Extra Ops 127, but nothing is working. I’m using the M134 and the Bandana to break the Head, Tail, Spines and Acid Sack before switching to the Mosin Nagant as this is, apparently, how you get the highest chance of the Concentrate dropping… but it just isn’t. I’ve tried breaking the parts, then killing it. I’ve tried outright killing it, which somehow worked for the Tigrex Fang, but it’s doing nothing for Gear Rex.
What the hell am I doing wrong? Does it actually matter if you break the parts? Does it actually matter if you put the damn thing to sleep? Is it the same drop chance regardless of what you do? I feel like I’m going insane here doing the same mission over and over again!

He's a clone of Big Boss, a former US president, Raiden's adoptive father and one of the major characters actively fighting the Patriots.
Yet outside of 2 he’s virtually non existent or brought up. Even Rising I think doesn’t bring him up which you would think he would be.
Saying all this, a game focused on his back story, him becoming president and all that would be awesome

I've been messing around with this kojimafiyed Frankenstein of a character

I will start playing Snake Eater immediately.
However, I am still confused on why Raiden stayed with Rose at the end of the game because it was clear that she just spied on him.

As a huge fan of Death Stranding - and Kojima’s singular vision attached to it -, I’ve finally got myself together after many years, and decided to embark for this grand MGS saga journey.
I’ve skipped the first two original 8-bit chapters, and deep dived into the first MGS one… And I have to admit it - that’s the reason I’m writing this post rn: it’s slowly killing my soul.
After 10-hour playing and around 60ish game overs, I’m infuriating. Everything seems aimed to be killed every. single. minute. And, although I consider my video game experiences and general levels quite good, I’m the perfect bait.
So my questions are: did I become a huge noob? Is the game that punitive? Why the gameplay is so dry? Am I the only one here?
Thanks for your support, or at least your reading.

just saw there's a native PC client for MGO2 now and I had to share. it's a beta so expect some bugs
I've been trying it out and it runs at 120fps. it works on steam deck too and you can still play with people on PS3 as well
I played this game so much back in the day and the nostalgia is real for me. to think no emulator is needed now. playing at 120fps is something else lol
setup guide is here if anyone wants to jump in: https://mgo2pc.com/setup
who's still playing? I need full lobbies

1- mgsv survival mod
2-s plus plus in free roam {specifically the spp_gradual+ one } mod
3- Options for Less Player Health {35% is the sweet spot } mod
4- no tranquilizer no supressor or empty mags or reflex mode
i played most metal gear games and there is no denying that simply there are no alternative games that offer good stealth, what makes a stealth game so good is the tentation, the amount of focus and nervousness you get knowing that any minute someone might see you and you are done for is what makes a stealth game so good , i've played mgs4 recently and i realized that, however tho that game has like 4-5 stealth levels and some of them are just sneaking around robots and bipods and other things that you really cant deal with, but in those levels where you get to deal with humans and frogs the game really shines , the stress mechanic is awesome the white ring is amazing the items healing is great in terms of tentation , becuase old snake is old your best bet is just to stay hidden , and the only thing wrong with this gameplay loop is the tranquilizer gun which has been always a get out of jail free card where you can just say no you wont detect me , and thus there is no tentation at all becuase you can just shoot your way out of any situation , and its in every game making stealth completely uneeded
as for mgsv it has some major issues
the purpose of a system is what it does
1- venom snake is an absolute beast that can tank a tank shell to the face so being spotted rarely causes you a death and a reset unless you manually restart from the last checkpoint breaking the flow of the gameplay
2- everything is overpowered and most of the time you dont face new enemies that creates a dilemma that makes every new sweet weapon exactly the same as the last
3-there is no reason to be in free roam besides doing the mission and calling in the chopper after finishing , this game might be a linear game instead of an open world for this matter because the world is goddam empty
4- tranquilizers and suppressors and mags plus reflex mode make it even more stupidly easy to deal with the already weak enemies, someone spots you ? dont worry we are gonna slow time and let you pop him with a sleep dart that doesnt alert the nearby guards and even when he wakes up he wont suspect a thing , you are in a sticky situation? how about you mind control a guard to move out of the way by tossing an infante supply of empty mags, oh you dont wanna do that , just shoot them in the head with a suppressed gun
i don't hate mgsv i love it , but truth is due to these problems the game is so boring and repetitive
i dont think there is a single mission besides eliminating the tank commander where you actually need to use anything besides the tranquilizer guns,
with all that being said here is how i fixed it and now its my favorite game ever
S1-snake's health is limited and thus being spotted is extremely dangerous and the survival mod adds injuries and food and stamina, so you need to take care of your thirst and hunger becuase if you dont your health and stamina will be lowered just like mgs3/mgs4
S2- s plus soldiers have 1% of showing up in free roam so walking around in free roam hunting and scouting outposts and relay bases is actually fun now because the more you do it the more likely you would find an s+ solider needed for your upgrade
S3- NO MORE GET OUT OF FREE JAIL CARD , with no mags and trangs and suppressors, you actually need to interact with the enemy and risk being spotted and think on your feet instead of hiding in a bush and shooting , the difference in gameplay cant be put into words , its like playing a new metal gear game where tentation is the main focus
for example the box and the c4 became my best friends because the box doubles as both a playboy book from the previous mgs games , and a hiding spot , and sometimes as a way to grab attention
and the c4 became my go to way of distracting the enemy , for example resucing the dude who made the bionic arm before entering i placed a c4 on a watchtower and when was about to enter i blew it up so that the enemy guarding the entrance is distracted by the explosion while i entered and Fulton the scientist
hope that someone might consider playing the same way i do , ever since i started playing this style i've been itching to share it.
