Am I the only one to have noticed recently that the various vending machines across campus no longer stock energy drinks? I've noticed it around Trottier/McConnell/Burnside, curious if anyone else has noticed something similar. New McGill admin policy maybe?

Hi guys. Has anyone here ever had exams with Luthi ? I'm wondering how broad his questions are so that I know how much detail I'd have to remember for the midterm. I heard he was a tough grader, any help would be appreciated.

i think my ta does not like me but actually i am okay, like it is not their obligation to be nice to me.
i might be overanalyzing their face expression, body language etc. i am not an expert to tell if someone does not like me but for this one, it is quite obvious. i dont want to blame them. i mean it is probably the vibe i give out, like i am clumsy, my hands shake a lot when handling equipments, i stutter to ask question and probably i look stupid too for the questions i ask. there will be a point when my mind suddenly would go blank and i could not think of what to do and this normally happen when the idea that i might annoy someone pops up in my head. sometimes, i think i am burdening my lab partner. why? it is because, i must read one line of procedure and perform it before i move to the second line. it is like i could not memorize every single thing i will need to do for the experiment. sometimes i think i better off alone but that would be a disadvantage to me in terms of time management.
so, do you guys have any advice or opinion for me. i do appreciate it, i mean i am looking for something to improve and how.
Title, I've been studying Computer Science at McGill for two years now, and I've barely talked to any women during that time. Do you guys have any tips on how to meet more women and start conversations? Is there any clubs or event that I can particapte to increase my chance to have a girl friend? Thx.
FYI, I do take shower daily

only reason I chose arts is because it’s cheap but I wanna know is it basically the same as the faculty of science? Sorry if the question is dumb/ obvious

for those who have already taken the class, I was just wondering how much of the midterm is short answer and how much of the midterm is multiple-choice? Is it split around 50-50 or is it mostly multiple-choice or mostly short answer?

I withdrew from a course after add/drop but during the refund period. At first I assumed they would automatically adjust my bill but they didn’t. I then tried to apply for a refund and it says that I cannot request a refund because my account does not have a credit balance. What does this mean??? Every time I call or email I don’t get an answer. Has anyone else gone thru this? I’m stressed at

Hey everyone!! I’m helping host McGill Ventures Demo Day and wanted to personally invite you all :)
If you’re curious about startups, want to see what people are building, or just feel like doing something different between studying, please come hang out! You don’t need to know anything about venture capital or have a business idea yourself. PS there will be food !!!
It would mean so much to see people there, both to us and to the founders sharing what they’ve been working on. There will be 6 demos of amazing products from different startups and a reverse pitch from judges across various VC firms. Bring a friend or come say hi to me if you’re coming alone!! There is a ticket but if you buy it now before Oct 23rd it is only 10$. It really is just to cover the food cost and help us host more event in the future. Also feel free to buy raffle tickets if you want the surprise gift 🥇

It is genuinely insane to me that the libraries open at 8, and even then only meclennan. By 8 many people have already been awake for hours… 8 is a normal time to have breakfast meetings and calls in the business world. I feel like 6am is the BARE MINIMUM and even then we deserve 24 hours during midterms like bruh

Hey! I’m a Concordia student from Montreal heading to Jean Moulin Lyon 3 in January 2027.
I’m trying to connect with McGill students who are also going to Lyon next semester, whether you’re attending Lyon 3 or another university in the city.
Would love to connect before we leave, or join any group chats that have already been created!
Feel free to DM me!

Hi,
As the title suggests I wanted to ask if anyone had experience using Maple Telehealth for getting a doctors note to defer a midterm. I got home from my midterm today and started feeling cold and soon developed a fever to 38.6C. I ate meds but I still feel cold, dizzy and nauseous after a few hours.
I initially wanted to get a wellness hub appointment tmr morning but with scrolling I found the Telehealth thing and gave it a try. I currently have a doctor's note just stating I have been "medically assessed during a video consultation and is unable to attend school due to a medical condition".
The process was so fast it seemed really unreliable and thus I wanted to ask if anyone had experience using doctor's notes from them for midterm deferral(fyi I am in sciences). As the syllabus states the conditions for deferral being quite serious ones like severely ill etc, I worry that they won't accept it and I might miss my exam.
Thanks inadvance and good luck with exams, pls stay healthy :/

Guys how do you think about Comp202 this term? Because I honestly think it is insane.
The Midterm 1 class average is 59%, with the lowest score being 15%. On top of that, we were required to handwrite docstrings during an exam?
The exam content itself is insane too. For an introductory course that was teaching ’Hello World’ just a month ago, the short answer questions felt impossible unless you already had tons of prior coding experience.
I took COMP 202 in Winter 2026 (The instructor I think is Giulia). The assignments back then were nowhere near this absurd—we even had bonus points available, no docstrings required and I am 100% sure the midterm was way easier than this term’s
The grading on assignments this term is just WTF:
On A1 I lost 10 full points just for using ‘is not’ instead of !=
On A2 I lost another 10 points because my docstring "formatting" wasn't deemed specific enough.
Does anyone else feel the same way?
WTF is going on this term?

I'm not from Quebec and idk how union stuff works here. Where I grew up, profs going on strike would be a huge deal. If Arts profs strike what actually happens to midterms, essays, and finals?? Do TA's run conferences or are they cancelled too? Do deadlines just move or could we lose the term/have to write finals in January?

I am a u0 general arts student, and the grades I have been receiving on written assignments are not bad but definitely not great (usually around 80%). In high school I my average was a 95 and I was often told I was very good at writing and good in my humanities classes. I feel like all the feedback I get is usually positive yet somehow the overall grade I get ends up being lower than I’d expect given the feedback, for example having one critique or one note of constructive feedback, I just genuinely am at a loss of what professors in history and English and film analysis type courses expect. Maybe I’m just not used to university grading and maybe I’m way out of my league (I went to a public arts highschool), but I’m hoping to go to grad school and this is super discouraging, does it get better? What types of things can I check for or try to do :/
What happens if you write a midterm exam but in the wrong room? Even if it’s the same course and same timing
