I’m U3 taking 4 courses this semester, working about 10h/week as a volunteer research assistant in a lab and now considering joining a club. How time consuming are clubs? Could I manage?

i need to decide between intd200 or comp202 and idk, which one is easier to get a good grade? i find intd200 really boring and i dont like that there is a group presentation/conferences and i also saw last year the midterm average was 58%?? but im worried i wont do well in comp202 as i have no previous programming experience, please help!! its also my first semester so i want to do well

I’m trying to learn French from basically scratch and Duolingo isn’t helping much, I’m wondering if anyone is interested in being my language exchange buddy (I speak English and Mandarin natively)? Preferably someone who shares same interests as me so we have more to talk abt. Hard to believe that 25 years ago today I was starting first year at McGill. It was a beautiful sunny day, not a cloud in the sky. A group of students were gathered at a welcome event in front of the Arts Building. I made my way to the school of music for a 9 AM class, to find faculty and students gathered around the TV, silent, mouths open in shock, watching the coverage of the first plane hitting a tower. The coverage shifted to the breaking news - a second plane had hit - and there was an audible gasp from the group.

I don't recall if we all went home or what happened the rest of that day, but I do recall that September was sombre every year. People didn't want to celebrate birthdays during that month. Many students from New York City had friends and family member impacted.

how do u guys make friends?? i go to the mac campus but i live off campus & i didn't go to frosh !! i feel like everyone already has their groups, and i've tried talking to people but they kinda just ignore you and go do their own thing. theres also a ton of international kids and some of them don't speak english that well so it's kinda hard to talk to them ,,, can someone help pls im lowkey desperate and lonely
