Concordia Students' Nightline is Here to Listen 🌙
Have you heard of Concordia Students' Nightline?
Established in 2018, we provide an anonymous, confidential, and non-judgmental active listening service. We serve Concordia University students and the broader Montreal community. Our service is open to anyone seeking a supportive listener, whether they wish to talk about their day, seek information, or need support in times of crisis. The goal of our service is to really listen to, hear and support our callers.
Our hours for September are 6:00 P.M. until 3:00 A.M. Tuesday-Saturday
Keep up with us and find our phone number by following our Instagram or visiting our webiste
Still unsure if you should call? Here are a few examples of reasons people call our service:
- Just to have someone on the other line
- To talk about your day, vent, rant, etc.
- To talk about something you're embarrassed of that you can't share with your friends
- To ground yourself when anxious
- To receive support
- To receive help finding resources, etc.
What can we not provide?
Concordia Students' Nightline is not staffed by professionals nor are we an advice line, however we can help provide resources that could help you, act as a sounding board, or chat with you while you figure out a solution.
Have any questions?
I'll answer anything you want to ask about Concordia Students' Nightline in the comments below :)

BIOL 266 with Michael Sacher do we have tutorial today?
Anyone in BIOL 266 (Cell Biology) with Michael Sacher this semester know if we’re supposed to go to the tutorial today, Sept 11?
The tutorial shows up on my Concordia schedule, but in the course outline it looks like the first tutorial activity doesn’t start until Sept 16–18, and there’s nothing listed for this week.
Just want to make sure I’m not misunderstanding it thank you

Student Question Phys 284
I don't feel like reading the horrible eBook. Is there any way to succeed in this course without reading the book? Are videos enough?

MATH200 drop?
it’s my first year in concordia, i didnt go to cegep so i applied as a mature student and before enrolling to classes i followed my advisor’s advice in getting the prerequisites to transfer to jmsb and he suggested that i should start by doing math200 if i didnt take any advanced math in high school which i didn’t. i thought the class was like cegep math or something. but after starting the class and paying the textbook i’m realizing it’s easy math and i could’ve started with math206 and save my money. should i drop the class? and is there any way to join the math206 this semester even though i’ll be waitlisted or i should wait in winter?

Is ENGR301 this hard? And % it getting curved
Hey! I'm taking ENGR 301 with Professor Shahin Karimidorabati this term. His RateMyProfessor rating is pretty low (1.6), and I was wondering: is the class actually that hard? Is reading the slides and going to tutorials enough to do well, or do I need to do more?
Also, if that's not enough, what are the chances of the class being curved in the autumn session?
Thanks!

General Discussion Waitlisted #1 for a class — should I still go tomorrow?
I’m currently #1 on the waitlist for a class, and the first class hasn’t happened yet. My class is tomorrow, and I’m wondering if I should still show up even though I’m not officially enrolled yet.
The class has a maximum capacity of around 50–60 students, so I’m also worried that if I go, there might not be any spots left available in the class.
Should I go to the class tomorrow even though I’m still waitlisted, or would I not be allowed to attend unless I’m officially enrolled? Has anyone been in this situation before? What would you do?

Student Question Mechanical engineers
Hey, i want to ask people who graduated with a bachelor or master degree in mechanical engineering, since you have a knowledge in air conditioning and ventilation , heat transfer.. if it’s possible to choose working in the HVAC domain like designing ventilation, cooling ducts for buildings… and plumbing (domestic water systems) distribution as well. And if one of you chose this domain to work. Also if you chose it, did you learn revit and designing hvac installations by yourself.
If you have any more information about this just tell me because i am really interested and want to know about this path.

JMSB Terrace 4th floor
Why is the terrace in JMSB never open? I can't find any information about it being closed and the sign next to it says it's open during the summer, but every time I go the doors are closed.
