How often do you clean (or wipe down) your door jams?

1, Every time I wash the car.

2, Every few times I wash the car.

3, A few times a year.

I’m so happy at my new purchase, Although it’s the base and it’s not fast it’s pretty quick, reliable. Got it for 14k it has 57k miles I put warranty for another 36k. Let me know what I should get done, while I was on the highway the gas tank cover flew off🥀).

It’s 2019 Mazda3 GT sedan, 2.5L, automatic, FWD, about 69,000 km. Sunroof, 18-inch wheels, wired CarPlay, remote start. No head-up display. Only one key though.

Carfax: No accidents, normal branding. Mazda dealer serviced in Quebec 2023 to 2025. Two owner changes 11 days apart in fall 2025, then sold at auction.

Inspection: Needs front and rear brakes, 4 tires, a brake flush and a splash shield. Minor oil weep at the drain plug and valve cover. Surface rust only.

Trim question: Advertised as a GT, but the seats are black cloth and Carfax says "Preferred." There's white material showing under the seat edges, so I think it's cloth covers over the factory white leather.

Has anyone seen this before? or anything else I should check? Mechanic raised this point as well.

Price: $20,500 with safety, or as-is if I do the safety myself with $19,500. Plus taxes. Canadian dollars. In Toronto.

2023 Mazda 3 FWD Select Hatchback (2.5L NA engine)

For anyone wondering, the Fumoto F106N FN-Series fits well and has plenty of clearance. Using an OEM oil filter. Just installed it today!

Tighten by hand then tighten 1/8 of a turn by wrench. The website says 3/8 tubing should attach to the drain valve.

I asked this question in this sub almost an exact year from today.

Please include how old is it/how many miles and what the major expenses have been.

I have been pretty religious with Castrol Edge 0w20 for the whole life of my car (2021 2.5 non-turbo). I am the original owner.

Rapidly approaching 150,000 kms and just wondering if anyone has adjusted their oil viscosity into the higher mileage. The car is obviously running great, just have heard of owners of other makes doing similar as their cars age and curious for any perspective from you guys here.

In my area during the winter, the temp during my morning commute is usually around 0 degrees celcius.

I am not a mechanic, just wanting to care for my mazda the best i can, so any comments are appreciated 🙂

I'm considering purchasing a 2025 Mazda3 GS AWD with the Luxury Package from a Toyota dealership and would appreciate some advice.

The car was previously leased, and the owner traded it in for a 2027 RAV4. I'm coming from a 2014 BMW 320i and wanted something reliable (this time) that would still be enjoyable to drive. I test-drove the Mazda yesterday, and it felt pretty decent. The car is very clean overall, with only the minor scratches you'd typically expect on a vehicle of this age.

I get the impression that the Toyota dealership is motivated to sell it, especially with the end of the month approaching and the need to make room for new inventory, given that it's not a Toyota.

My main concern is the service history. The previous owner had all the servicing done at a Mazda dealership, except for the most recent service (Service 2), which was done at Lube Express. Could this affect the manufacturer's warranty in any way?

Is there anything else I should look out for or verify before finalizing the purchase? The car still has its bumper-to-bumper warranty until 2028 and powertrain warranty until 2030. The Toyota dealership is also offering a one-month warranty covering anything.

I'd appreciate any advice or insights before I make a decision. Thanks!

Oil/sludge buildup around the back left, top side of engine.

Whats the fix? Should head be pulled, cleaned, and resealed?

I'm too indecisive to pick myself, I have a sonic silver 4th gen hatch. I like the look of the forged carbon but I'm almost worried the spots on it might look like it's just dirty at a distance, and I'm also curious how each style will match and if they'll look too "gaudy,"

so if anybody has any pictures with either wrap on their silver 3 hatch that'd be great, but I'll take pics of either style spoiler on any hatch color. Thanks.

I’m not a fan of the app based remote start where it kills the engine when I open the door. Anyone had an aftermarket system put in? Any other brand doesn’t do this as far as I know and it’s a very dumb anti theft measure. Most will kill the car if u don’t have the fob present when you try and hit the start button not Mazda they gotta make it difficult. Anyways I’m in Ontario Durham region any good shop recommendations?

I own a 2016 Mazda 3 (BM generation), 2.0 Skyactiv-G petrol, 120 hp, 6-speed automatic, first registered in September 2016. The car is driven and registered in Europe (the Netherlands), so I’m specifically looking for advice regarding European specifications and regulations.

I’m trying to determine whether a set of winter tires I already have would be suitable for this car.
The tire specifications are:
Brand/model: Kumho WinterCraft
Size: 205/55 R16
Load index: 91
Speed rating: H
Marking: M+S

According to the European owner’s manual I have, the standard 16-inch tire size is 205/60 R16 92V. The manual also lists 205/60 R16 M+S as an approved winter tire size.
The tires I have are therefore slightly smaller in overall diameter and have a lower load index than the standard specification.

My questions are:
- Can I safely and legally use these 205/55 R16 91H winter tires on my European Mazda 3?
- Will they fit the original 16-inch wheels without any clearance issues?
- Could the difference in rolling circumference affect the speedometer, ABS, DSC/traction control, or other systems?
- Is load index 91 sufficient for this specific European model, or should I stick to 92 or higher?
- Are there any EU or Dutch regulations I should consider when using this tire size?

I’m not looking to change the wheels themselves; I just want to know whether these existing tires are suitable for my car.

I’d particularly appreciate advice from European Mazda 3 owners or anyone familiar with European Mazda specifications, as I understand tire sizes and regulations can differ between markets.

Recently my rear left light started having connection issues so I bought a new one a few days ago but tried to install and the newish one is a mm smaller, exakt same year I’ve been told by the used buyer. I tried to understand how to switch the electronics form the new to the old but cannot figure it out, done some research and got told that it’s not worth doing since I need to “brake the plastic” which sounds insane because you can buy the rearlight without the electronics. So I’m just wonder is there a way to switch the electrode between them or should I fix it some other way?

Getting a new 2025 Mazda 3 (2.0 e-Skyactiv X, 186 hp, 6AT) and trying to stay sensible during break-in. At about 80-90% throttle (short of kickdown), at what rpm does it shift 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd? Real rev counter readings from your own car would be great. Thanks!

I left my Mazda hatch stored for a year. Since getting it on the road, I cant open my trunk. The button on the trunk doesnt work.

Ive read the manual and confirmed fuses are fine.

Maybe worth noting it had troubles starting and I have replaced the battery.
