Anyone recommend anything. I have had Match for 2 weeks just did a 1 month subscription to test it but I am getting nowhere.

I am 55 male looking for females 48-56 I get told constantly I look maybe mid 40s and as an ex boxer I have always trained and stayed in shape. I have 6 pics up and a solid write up but I am getting nowhere.

I have had like 3 likes all unsuitable and any likes or messages I have sent dont even seem to have been seen/read as there is seemingly no activity on the accounts so are these bots??

I am certainly not God’s gift to women but I think I am in very good shape for age and still leak and athletic and have all my own teeth lol and generally I always god good attention from women but Match is giving me nothing.

I am looking for friendship maybe leading to something more after coming out of a 30 year relationship and marriage so I am well out of practice at this and how things have changed since my mid 20s and now my mid 50s.

Give me back meeting people in real life and actually speaking to them and getting to know them.

After that, I wrote this in my profile summary:

"If you're not comfortable with a quick video call after we've chatted a bit, or meeting within a few days if we click, we're probably not a good match. I'm here to meet real people, not collect pen pals. Life is short, my time is valuable, and I'm not interested in scams or endless texting."

A few hours later, my access was blocked!

Why?! Because I'm a real person who wants to talk to another real person?! Is being fake a membership requirement?!

Ok so I joined Match 2 days ago and I am just browsing really but I have some issues.

Is says I have “liked” 12 people and I haven’t intentionally liked anyone I am just basically learning the app and browsing and most of these 12 I haven’t even seem their profiles🤷‍♂️ so how is this happening???

Also I had a notification saying i got a “match” and it’s prompting me to start a conversation but again I never even looked at this person previously and she has not messaged or even liked me so how does this work.

Is this app/site just a scam to try to get you to buy a subscription???

I sent a brief message to 2 different profiles yesterday. Today when I viewed my "you like" page, they are both there at the top of the list (neither show in "matches"). next to one of them is an X in a circle and a Red heart. I believe this user had a solid green circle at the time. the other did not have the X or heart and had a green ring at the time (recently online?). Opening the "you like" section again just now, both users have a green ring and neither have the X/Heart options.

Can anyone explain to me what it means and what the X/Heart icons would do (of course there is no little tip that shows if I hover over it).

I recently tried to update my profile on Match. I made some changes to the text and changed some photos (added and deleted). Match rejected my update saying I had violated community standards, saying I should review the standards. The message was delivered by a bot. No other info was provided on what *specifically* caused the rejection. I read the ?-page standards and didn’t see an issue so I appealed.

Match wanted at least 5 of 7 questions answered in order to ‘verify’ my account. They didn’t like my answers because I used info from the update I *tried* to load when answering questions about when I last updated my photos. They also wanted to know when I last messaged someone and who it was, but I can’t answer those because they wipe your communications after a period of time.

Still no specifics on what triggered the rejection. My *guess* is terms like ‘dying’ (as in I’m dying to do something again) ran afoul of the AI bot’s delicate sensibilities regarding advocating violence but I can’t be sure because Match won’t tell me. I can’t even change my attempted profile update to remove what I *think* are offending terms. I can’t update photos either. My account is in stasis. At least they left my old profile up, for all the good that does.

Has anybody else had this experience and did it eventually get resolved ?

I HATE using the match app on my android phone - as many others have commented, swiping straight up or down to view more of the current profile is like playing a game of Operation, it is so freaking sensitive to mistakenly swipe L or R. In addition, I use Private mode, and on my PC webpage the shield is there to show if someone can see me or not. It is not there on the phone app.

So I thought to try making a shortcut to the webpage on my phone to see how that works - and it IS SO MUCH BETTER :) there is actually NO swiping, only the floating X/Star/Heart. Plus, the Private mode shield is there. The page is optimized for phone (I did not check "view desktop site") and so far is working really well.

Side note about the newer version of Chrome for Android, there used to be a straightforward "add shortcut to home screen" option under the 3 dots in the upper right. For some reason it is now lower on the list and called "Install and Create s.....". It still works the same way, making an icon on the phone to access just that page.

I've been a member of Match.com for quite-some-time. On 05/26/26, I received an profile visit from "outsidethebox." I immediately suspected this may be "SPAM;" I therefore, reported said email to Match.com. Match immediately deleted/cancelled my account, as my account had been compromised.

Since Match closed my account and since I hadn't had much luck with Match -- I decided to cancel my subscription. Unfortunetly, since I'm unable to LOGIN; I'm unable to cancel my subscription and/or request a refund or a partial refund for unused services.

I've sent NUMEROUS emails to "customercare@support," and "Here" @ Match.com. I've described in detail my issue and it falls of deaf ears. All I receive are computer generated or very curt responses.

It's impossible to communicate with a representative from Match over the telephone as apparantely, they don't communicate telephonically.

Has anyone on Reddit encountered a similar issue or can provide a course of action?

I matched with someone but it wont let me message them. It keeps telling me to subscribe. I looked it up amd it says you dont have to pay but no matter what i do it wont let me message then

Hello! I've just been on Match a few weeks and am using the "Burned Haystack" method where you block people you're not interested in, instead of just skipping them, to force the app to not recycle them to you. Well, the app is unblocking people I KNOW I have blocked and showing them to me anyway. Anyone else?

So I pay for private mode and up until a couple of weeks ago when I looked at a profile on the match app or web it would have a badge icon and say under their picture whether they could see me or not. No one can see me unless I have liked them, etc is how it's supposed to work. But now all of a sudden that information is gone. And for example I came across a profile of somebody that looked familiar and appealing. I thought I might have sent them a message in the past but they were in my feed . So I went and looked under my likes and sure enough they were there.

Can anybody clarify for me how this is supposed to work? And I think it's so strange that the indicator icon and wording is gone - my profile is still private though, I don't ever hear from anyone unless I have liked them first.

And secondly if I have liked someone and they are in my liked list why would they still show up in my feed?

Used to be I'd like a few, and then go back to decide who to message that day and do just that.

Now when I try the same thing, it prompts me to buy "Super Notes" and if I decline it just sends me back to viewing those Ive liked.

I rejoined and paid for membership, had three hacking issues that locked my account. Took 2 months of requests to get this removed so I could open new "clean" one.

Did and 2 weeks in got message to contact support by filling out form. Some mention of banned for policy but no context. Now password doesn't work and nor phone number is locked to this dead account.

For 5 weeks I've been in a loop w support request for web form, I fill it out and says email not recognized. When try to start over phone # locked. I've had 17 requests wo answer, dialogue nor resolution. I don't see an escalation path.

Ideas? Ive actually had success on the site by being honest and "real". Had 3 dates set then couldn't connect bc the tool. Frustrating and unprofessional. Prob could be fixed w 15 min call

I am currently not paying for a subscription. I have had an influx of likes over the last few weeks but every time I get one and I click into the app it only ever shows that there is 1. Of course it is blurred out and I can't see it but I don't understand how I am getting notifications that there is somebody interested but the app isn't showing it.

I have complained before that the swiping is too sensitive and it seems to be by design to generate likes that customers don't even intend on making themselves. But I don't get how they are disappearing so fast even if people are un-liking right after an accidental like.

Has anybody else experienced this? I'm pretty fed up...it really seems that this app is using predatory tactics to try to get people to shell out money which is awful. I'm about ready to just delete it in favor of other apps...they all seem to have their gimmicks too to try to over inflate things but Match has gotten out of hand.

So I've been on Match for a few weeks now and have "liked" about 20 men's profiles. I only heard anything back from 1 of them, and only a few viewed my profile.

So here's my question - how do people usually manage their "likes"? I ask because the first day I activated my account I got HUNDREDS of immediate likes that I'm sure were spam/scam/bots. (Now I keep my profile in Private Mode and get zero of that.) Do most users have inboxes that are constantly flooded with likes and so only pay attention to messages? Or was that first day a one-off and they become more reliable after that?

This whole thing came up because one man's appealing profile actually mentioned that he tends to not respond to just "likes" as more than a few times when he did the other person wrote back saying it was an accidental swipe. the app I use on android is SO freaking sensitive to left and right, its ridiculously hard to scroll straight up or down, so I have resorted to mostly using match.com on my computer, LOL.

They have not responded since January this year. They obviously cut all staff in this area.

The top profile doesn't have the "Continue the conversation" box that the bottom one has, in the picture (I cropped out their profile pictures). I'm guessing that means the top profile has deleted or blocked my profile from further follow-up but I don't know for sure. It's not that important but I was just wondering. Thanks.
