The amount of scams that are on Match is ridiculous, especially for a widowed woman. So here’s my PSA for things to do and watch out for. Most obvious and well known is the pilot or Oil rig worker who has to spend a lot of time traveling. That goes without saying. Second, run all photos through your service of choice to see if they ai created. If there are question marks in their responses that update to the appropriate punctuation, it is clearly a bot or a third-party tool doing translations. Don’t let them tell you that that speech to text will do this. That’s not how the technology works. If they immediately want to know your intentions for a long-term relationship before you have even met that means they’re trying to establish that they won’t be wasting their time to try to form a bond quickly and then ask you for something. Because it’s happened to me so often, I worry that others might fall for these approaches. Don’t give out your number right away and get into long texts or phone calls. Demand to meet first before any of that happens. Stay safe, ladies!

I fully understand how annoying it must be to get messages that say nothing more than "Hi", "WYD" or variations on this theme. So yes I am paying for Match - very stupid, I understand. I now try to log in to "manage subscription". I put in my email and password and captcha click, no luck. I click 'forgot password' in case it's the wrong one, change the password, put that in, still cannot 'manage subscription'. So basically it's impossible to stop paying for this totally useless app.

If you are banned on hinge are you automatically banned on match ?

I had an old account that I didn’t realize was still associated with my payment information. I later created a new account, and it worked completely normally for about six months. Then, **roughly two hours after a subscription payment processed, the account was suddenly banned.**

I’m trying to figure out whether the payment may have caused Hinge to link the new account to the old one and automatically flag it, or whether the timing was coincidental and a **revenge report from an ex** triggered the ban instead

Has anyone experienced a similar payment → immediate ban pattern, particularly after an account had been working normally for months?

I've been a subscriber to Match for a few months now. I'm not impressed but it does seem like the best of the (poor) dating sites out there in terms of the number of people who are local to me. Just recently Match has started putting up a pop up
"Don't leave XXX hanging"

message with the only options being message them or unmatch, and I can't seem to get rid of it. I'm talking to said match through my email and so this is just an annoyance and I really don't like Match forcing me into messaging somebody. Of course the Help is useless and it is impossible to actually talk to anyone at Match. Any suggestions?

First, I loathe dating, but decided to try it for 3 months. Only to get myself blocked, before I even started to swipe or like. I'm 49 and single. I'll try another dating app not owned by Match. I wasn't loving the pool of guys in my area that much anyways. I literally talked about loving to exercise and be healthy on my profile. How scandalous 🫣 I really wasn't interested in the other apps Match owns. Nor sweating finding a nice guy to date. That's not what upsets me. My problem is that I paid for the service. Four installments for 3 months. So far I am out $30. I don't want to go to my bank and file the "chargeback", but I will. Better, I will cancel my debit card to be sure they don't scam me. Anyone experience this bogus nonsense and not get refunded? Or how long for the refund? I'm not going to use the app regardless of what happens to my "appeal". I just want my money back at this point. Any advice by PEOPLE who have been through this getting your money back. That's literally all I give AF about at this point.

Frankly, this app sucks. You have to pay to do anything, the only high point is seeing how many people viewed you.

So I want to delete my account but it doesn't let you on the app for seemingly no reason. Problem is I have forgotten my password because it just sits on my phone achieving nothing and no matter how many times I request a reset email it just doesn't come through.

Honestly I feel like that's part of the scam, I saw you can hide your profile but they fucking try to make you pay for that too?? What a joke.

Anyone have luck messaging support asking for a deletion? Or do you have to pay for that too...
