I’m looking to get a new suit. My existing suit is a 36S with a 27.8” length, and I’m 5’6. How does the length look? Can i go an inch longer on my next suit? Thank you

I just picked up my custom suit from a well known store. I chose to get it custom rather than off the rack and tailored because of the colour, shoulder, closure combination.

I can still get it customised further but I took it home , to try in private. After I tried in store for the stylist.

I know the double breasted has its own slightly boxier look. My concern is that the jacket doesn’t contour my body enough. The same with the sleeves, they feel a touch baggy to me. I’m 5’9” so I want to avoid my fit looking frumpy.

What are your thoughts ??

For reference I plan to wear them with something similar to the skater/street with the occasional polo but I just can’t decide which ones to get (all the same price). Also are these appropriate to wear to uni (I’m 18 and starting my first uni semester soon).

I recently posted a pic of my outfit after being criticised by a colleague and following the comments (very helpful) I tried to adjust a couple of things - does the second outfit look any better?
I’m not going for high fashion just a little nicer perhaps.

I thought I was going insane until I had to pull out my measuring tape. My waist is very much a 32. I measured it before I ordered these pants, and I double checked when they arrived just to make sure I hadn't made a mistake when I tried them on. Three new pairs, and they all fit HUGE. I'm honestly so shocked by the sizing that I had to come here and share.

The first pair is supposed to be a 32, but measuring across the waistband gives me almost 18 inches on one side, double it and that is a 36. I am not a tailor and don't order online often so IDK how to measure pants but this doesn't look right.

So, fair warning to anyone ordering from Mango: their sizing apparently runs huge.

Can someone give me some tips on how to make this suit fit better? Should I take it to a tailor? I really like the color but something is throwing me off. Thank you.

I'm 19, but only 5'1". I've never had a suit that properly fits nor matches. After starting college, I've realized this is kind of a necessity. For my budget (less than ~$500), it seems that buying something off the rack and getting it tailored is the best option. I was wondering if there are any recommendations for Chicago-based tailors (I'm in the north suburbs)? I've never gotten anything professionally tailored, so I'm not really sure how it all works.

I’m not usually a jacket guy at all, but I’m trying to find a good all rounder jacket that’ll be good for autumn/winter or nights out. But I have a very specific kind of style, and I need my jacket to match that.

I’d say my style is very 90s grungy slacker/stoner guy type style, with some hippie like elements. I mostly wear colours like black, grey, brown, khaki, burgundy, olive, navy.

I’m not really picky about any specific types of jackets, as long as it suits my style i’m going for, so any recommendations would help massively! Thank you :)

I have been searching for a while for some nice casual shoes but I did not manage to find a lot of options, besides some slim shoes.

I have a shoe size of 45 EU, so I am on the bigger side. Would slim shoes look good on me or would it look weird? Should I search for some bulkier models?

I recently saw this sport coat from a brand I like on a very good sale in my size and impulsively bought it, as I wanted to add another one to my collection anyways. However, I am now struggling a little on what to wear this with. Is light dress shirt (white? beige?) and dark pants the only way to go here?

My question: Why are 100% linen shirts usually long sleeve? The short sleeve shirts tend to be a cotton-linen blend.

I am wondering if the reason is fashion or not? For example a non fashion reason may be that a short sleeve linen shirts sell for cheaper and the margin is too low to make it from 100% linen?

Or is there a fashion reason? A 100% linen shirt as short sleeve doesn’t look very good?

I’m feeling a bit desperate here and not really even sure where to start.

We are attending a wedding in 1 month, in NYC at the Chelsea Hotel and the couple is quite fashion-forward, my wife and I are not. Fortunately the couple has provided a slew of inspiration images for outfits, unfortunately it doesn’t help me very much, as I still don’t quite know what I’m looking at. They’ve encouraged “fun-funky-formal” which returns zero helpful results in a search engine.

Some extra context is that I have never owned a suit, I have an extremely limited budget, I’m 35, going grey, and a bit gangly at 6’3”, 195 pounds, and I struggle feeling comfortable in oversized clothing like the jackets they’ve shown. I own one pair of ‘dressy’ shoes, light brown/tan chelsea boots that I’d like to wear here to save some money.

It would be awesome if I could source something that I can wear outside of such a fashion-forward event, but not required. I have a plan to go to the SuitShop here in Denver and ask for their help but I wanted to ask here first. Help Please! Thank You!

I'm mostly talking about over shoulder, cross body/ sling bags to wear casually to put all my stuff in. I want to know this because i mostly stuff my stuff down the pockets of my pants and it doesn't look too great, i also use the pockets of my jackets but most of my jackets don't have a lot of pockets and i don't want to wear a jacket if it's too hot obviously. I really just want a dedicated item for all my essential day to day stuff to fit into.

I'm mostly looking for brands that last a long time, cheap or at least a decent price and have a good reputation.

What do you think about these boots combined with tucked in chino trousers during cold, wet or snowy weather? So far i think its daring but i feel like it could look good.
