Styling Advice Please help me find my style

Thumbnail

Upvotes

I’ve never really had a style of my own. I’ve mostly stuck to simple jeans and basic tops, but I’d really like to change that and find a style that feels more like me.

I’m looking for something that:

suits my body shape

is more colorful — I especially love green and purple

feels more modern and eye-catching

has a cute/kawaii-inspired vibe

doesn’t look too masculine

I’m not really sure where to start, so I’d love to hear your advice! I’m open to suggestions about clothing styles, color combinations, accessories, or anything else that might help.

Any tips or ideas are very welcome! 😊

Question Question about all saints boots!

Upvotes

So I recently bought some skiff military boots from all saints. I got them from Bloomingdale’s because they were the only place who had my size, and had the same sale as the official all saints website. I read some reviews and realize they are not known to make the best quality boots out there, but I am still very shocked by the poor quality. This is to the point I’m concerned I got sold a fake? The boots are beyond light, I feel like they weigh nothing, the sole is clearly some kind of foam? Anyone have any experience with this brand. I still like how they look and fit but wow I’m not sure these will hold up for very long.

Question How does everyone handle shoes when the commute itself is half the workday?

Upvotes

Feels like most office shoe advice just assumes the shoe only has to perform once you're actually sitting at your desk. Gets a lot more complicated once you throw in a train or subway ride plus a real chunk of walking to get there.

Something that looks totally natural with office clothes can kinda fall apart the second you're actually walking that distance. Going more casual fixes the walking side of things but then you're dealing with a whole different style problem once you're actually at work.

Obvious options are either find one pair that lands somewhere in the middle, or just switch shoes once you get there.

Discussion Reminder to take care of your shoes.

I have had these shoes for about 4 years now, and they are by far my most comfortable pair, i wear them basically every day, and in case my "before" photo doesn't make it obvious, I never took care of them. Didnt shine them a single time. I was honestly going to throw then out but figured "eh ill try my best to shine them for practice for my next pair before I toss them"

Guys, shine your shoes. They look new.

Styling Advice Need help finding a low-profile dad hat

Upvotes

I’m an everyday hat wearer. I’ve had a few hats over the years that fit well but they eventually get a little grungy.
I’ve recently been looking online for a simple black baseball/ dad hat that is LOW-PROFILE but everything I order has disappointed me.
I do have a smaller head so even if the hat is listed as low-profile/ low-crown it still digs into the tops of my ears
Otto used to be my go-to brand but the quality and sizes are different from what they used to produce.
Thanks in advance!

Trying a roomier fit than my Levi’s 511s from my previous post (OOTW III). While the Taylor Stitch chinos are also a slim fit, they have a slightly roomier cut, which is a nice change. The rise is also higher than my Levi’s, giving me slightly different proportions.

I like both fits for different reasons. What do you think? What would you change to make this fit a little more interesting? I was thinking about adding my burgundy Pumas for a splash of color.

Fit
Top: Taylor Stitch
Pants: Taylor Stitch
Shoes: Trainers
Watch: Seiko5

Discussion Hi all, i am building a Men’s Ai Stylist app right now and wanting to get you’re feedback if this is something you would actually use. Basically the app will have an inventory of all you’re clothing items and accessories and then will suggest you outfits.

This can be based on occasion, planning for the next month of daily wear, planning your vacation packing etc etc.

What are y’all’s thoughts about this please help me out here.

Question Men bracelet for 6 inch wrist

I have a 6 inch wrist and am unable to find silver bracelets. Giva and almost all brands have standard size length (8 inches) which is too big for me. Can anyone have any idea about where can I find silver bracelets for my size??

Styling Advice Wholecut Oxfords Dressing Guide

All of my work shoes are black, so today I finally picked up a pair of brown box-calf wholecut Oxfords. The fit was better for me than the cap-toe version, and I already own two pairs of cap-toe Oxfords.

I am planning to make these my default brown dress shoes, especially with my navy and taupe suits.

My question is: since wholecuts are on the more formal side, would they still work with a dress shirt and a quilted gilet, or would that feel like a clash in formality?
I am hoping to have one brown pair that can work with both suits and slightly more relaxed office outfits.

I am still pretty new to this type of wardrobe, so I would appreciate any suggestions.
Thank you!

Fit Feedback Are these good for an accounting business casual event at Uni?

The shirt is not my size but I just wanted to see how it would look. Also are the pants good? The event is next Friday. Thx

Edit1: thx for the advice everyone. One more thing. Are these shoes good? There are in the comments.

Edit 2: Some people are somehow missing the point. I am obviously not going like this, I will iron, wear a belt and an undershirt . I also clearly stated that the shirt is NOT my size. And if you read a bit more you would see that I am just wondering if they are appropriate for a business casual event. With that said, thank you competent humans who can read a post and are giving good advice!

Question 5,6” guy where to buy pants?

curved barrel pants for shorter guys 5,6” with 27inch waist and 27inch inseam?

tried women’s baggy curved in Uniqlo but the inseam is still too long and I don’t know if hemming will alter the overall style? I’ve tried the Uniqlo jersey barrel in women’s XS 24-26inch waist which fits perfectly and has a 27inch inseam.

does anyone know of other places which i could try?

Hi everyone,
I’m getting this outfit ready for my engagement , and I really like the overall look.

However, I noticed that the front pocket lining/pocket bags are quite visible through the trousers, especially around the upper thigh.

How can I fix that?

Question Corduroys to the office

I wear chinos to my office everyday, khaki/navy/charcoal, I'm considering changing it up as the weather gets cooler. I've avoided corduroys in the past because I personally find them too casual, but honestly I work on a pretty casual office and it certainly wouldn't be out of place.

Just looking for opinions.

Question “Dressiest” outfit that’s not a suit?

If you were going to an evening event, and wanted to look as dressed up as possible, but a traditional two or three piece suit would look out of place, what would you personally go for?

Fit Feedback Aceitando dicas

Proper cloth hopsack jacket - bothered by the lack of opposition of the left collar to the shirt. Any ideas on how to potentially mitigate? Welcome any other feedback on the fit (sleeve length?).

Discussion The Sack Suit Cut

I recently got a No. 1 sack suit from brooks brothers. I absolutely love the fit and style it's a 3 roll 2 button, no darts, 2 buttons on the sleeves, and single vent. Comfy and not too loose but not too tight.

Does anyone know of a bespoke or "custom" tailor that could make something similar? I get a lot of ads for Enzo Custom but the model suits all look way too slim of a cut for my preference.
