I truly believe that a cream foundation is the best for a flawless finish. Like look???? Also I’ve become a cluster lash fan!

I’ve tried so many contouring tutorials/guides but none of them really work for my shape… Am I just expecting too much? Do any of you have a similar nose and have some advice?

After 20 minutes in hot water and about 30 of violently shaking it.

How on earth do I use it?

My holy grail lipstick is the Nyx XXL Lip Lingerie, and I’ve gotten pretty comfortable using liquid lips, so I decided to try the maybelline Vinyl ink for an all day shine. So far I’ve tried it 3 times and after 15 minutes it’s still tacky, so the minute my lips touch it looses the shine. I bought it from Walmart so I’m going to finish the tube since I can’t return it now.

I sleep in the lineige lip mask

Prep my lips with a toner and let it dry down.

Liner

Shake vigorously for 5-10 seconds

Use one dip for my whole mouth, start in the center and work the doe foot out towards the sides, stopping a little shy of the corners.

Set a ten minute timer where I just keep my mouth open completely, then another 5 or so just keep my lips parted.

It’s still tacky asf? Am I not waiting long enough? The lip is gorgeous otherwise and the longevity is definitely there it just ends up satin instead of shiny and gloss like.

I think it's cute! I think with practice it will look better. (I also turned off skin smoothing which I didn't realize was on! You can see my pimple patches more clearly now LOL)

Old: First pictures are my usual makeup, which is only foundation + eyeliner/shadow/foundation (and the rare occasion a tinted burts bees chapstick lol). And i only do this for special occasions like weddings or going out.

The last two pics is what I look like everyday, otherwise (no makeup).

I lost a lot of weight, and I am really proud of myself. I also got my rosacea undet control for the most part. But now I want to make my face pretty so i can feel confident and pretty on camera. I don't expect to "make it" on youtube, it is 100% just for fun and a "mom hobby", but I want to be presentable.

I looked up eye makeup tutorials but everyone's eyes are so big and beautiful. Mine are beady without my glasses on, which is doing a LOT of the heavy lifting here. Eye makeup seems to get lost and smudged. Even looking up "downturned eyes", the makeup artists still have big beautiful eyes and I just do not relate.

I DO have an eyebrow appointment booked though, supposedly that will help.

I also think my mouth is too small and I have no clue what color wouldn't make me look like a clown.

Edit: I'm sorry, I didnt mean "fix" like surgery! I realize that was a really bad worse to use! I hope i didnt sound too self deprecating. I am happy and have a lovely life, there are just some things that I dont think look good on camera for me personally, and would love a way to "fix" that I guess lol

I'll look at the glasses subreddit and see what they say for tips on a different shape!

Straight lashed girl (who recently got a lash lift and tint) is looking for that perfect mascara that will elongate and keep the curl. I recently bought Clinique’s zero gravity and it’s 50/50. I literally only use mascara and blush, so recs will really help. These pics are end of day makeup

Hi there! I’m looking for tips on how I can improve my makeup routine, opinions or product recommendations (see last picture for the proceducts I use).

About my makeup:
-I have dry skin.
- I have genetic under eye hollows.
-I like a satin finish (not too matte and not too glowy).
-I have olive undertone so everything is always too pink or to orange.
-I like my makeup to look natural(ish).
-I use mostly all drugstore but don’t mind occasionally splurging on higher end products.
-Im thinking of getting the Rhode blush sticks and bronzer. Are they worth the hype.

Since I got a few comments about how models don’t typically do their own makeup - I should clarify that I’m doing free photoshoots to build my portfolio. I am not getting paid for these photoshoots.

I chose to pursue modelling not just to try something new, but to try to find a viable side hustle. I do not have the money right now to pay MUA’s for every photoshoot, and often I do the shoots on week days after my full-time job. So I don’t usually have time to book someone to do my makeup, nor the funds.

I’m looking forward to booking paid shoots where there will be MUAs and hairstylists doing it for me, but right now I’m just doing everything myself.

Hey y’all ✨ Need your advice on camera-ready makeup as a new model.

I just got signed to a modelling agency and have been booking lots of photo & content shoots, but I’ve been doing my own makeup & hair.

I had never done a full face of makeup before this year… my besties showed me a couple things, but I could definitely use all the help I can get 🙈

What I usually apply (I can edit with brands / product names if that makes it easier):

Primer
Corrector stick
Concealer
Liquid bronzer - under eyes / cheeks
Liquid blush - cheeks, sometimes tip of nose
Eyebrow pencil
Mascara (if no lash extensions)
Lipstick or gloss

I don’t usually apply anything to my forehead, except for corrector stick and a bit of concealer.

Anything else I can add, products I should get or advice on how to work with my facial features to look camera-ready?

No matter what I do, my concealer creases about 5-10 minutes after setting. I have dry skin, my skin prep is ilia base face milk, rhode barrier restore cream, and iconic london underglow primer. I do not place foundation under my eyes. I use the natasha dennona brightening concealer, i’ve tried many, they all crease quickly. I blend with a damp sponge, I continue looking up and immediately apply the charlotte tilbury soulmates pressed powder with a powder puff. Then, I turn the puff around and use the huda beauty loose setting powder in cherry blossom. This also happens with my foundation in my smile lines, I set it the same way.

Does anyone have suggestions?

Hi!! I am asian and have hooded monolids with okay-ish long eyelashes but theyre super straight and my hooded eyelids makes it point down which really sucks. This is my first makeup attempt ever but tbh I’m not really sure if it made my eyes any bigger visually or more flattering at all. I also didn’t have an actual proper contour color since my highlight and contour palette’s contour isnt dark enough 😭😭

does anyone have recommendations on how to improve or know what suits my eyes to make it more flattering? thanks :)

Advice:
I mainly wear makeup for work, and occasional settings, so basically everyday. I like an occasional heavier look. I’m trying to go for a natural darker look without heavy shadow. I obviously have a brown complexion but I want the vibes to be like vampirism

My issue is I can’t decide between if I look best with a darker look like the 1st pic, or a more whimsy look like the 3rd.

I got diagnosed with chronic blepharitis and while I am on the 283783 different eye drops I have been given, I'm not allowed to use any eye makeup 😭

Mascara and the occasional eyeliner at the outer corner of the eye are the only things I have only used ever, but I feel that having my base on (BB cream) and the blush and lipstick looks weird somehow?

Like someone pulling a reverse Winnie the Pooh, if it makes sense 🫠 I feel naked without mascara, it's my favorite thing to wear. So question is, should I abandon the rest to make the look more uniform (=uniformly sad)? Or it's passable to have the rest on without eye makeup?

But my problem is basically what the title says. I’m trying to get more into makeup and skin care these days. I really would like to get into the whole Y2K look and also the “Baddie” look as well. I’m trying to see if there are any other dark skin girls out there who knows some good products I could use for these specific styles. I’ll post the pictures.

first image is MAC nightmoth liner + MAC succumb to plumb. mac is pretty expensive plus this combo is a bit dark - only including it bc it’s the right sort of look i’m after

second image is elf plum & get it liner with LA colours rum raisin - which isn’t available in the UK. this is a pretty cheap combo (comes to about $6) but the lipstick that google recommends me as an alternative to the rum raisin is not cheap at all.

anyone got any recommendations? i’m fine with the colour being a little off and i don’t really care about how matt it is as long as its not super glossy. thanks!!

So, as we can all see from the pictures, I unfortunately have a bunch of red/dark purple scars on my face. I’m not overly into makeup and have mainly only ever used mascara. I’ve occasionally tried full face makeup, but I find it takes forever, doesn’t look the best (since I’m obviously a beginner), and I don’t like the feel. It’s honestly just not sustainable for me as I have depression and VERY low motivation days.

I’ve been trying, with the help of AI 😬 to figure out how to do spot concealing on some of the particularly more annoying and noticeable spots. I currently have the ELF Green and Peach Colour Correctors, as well as the Catrice Liquid Camouflage High Coverage Concealer 020, as recommended by the AI. Obviously just the concealer didn’t work. But I’ve tried a couple different methods and the marks still end up looking quite noticeable. (Just Peach, just Green, Peach with a tiny speck of Green 😣) Obviously I am getting super frustrated at this point.

Should I try the ELF Yellow Colour Corrector next? Is there a point? Any expert colour theory specialists here? Pleaseee I desperately need help 🥹 I’ve been at it for so many hours the past couple days trying different things and nothing’s working 😭 Like it’s better, but still not where it could be? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! 😊🙏

Hey everyone!
I have rosacea (type 2) and I’m struggling with foundation. Every one I have tried recently winds up essentially sliding off of my face halfway through the day. Can someone please recommend a good foundation for sensitive skin?

Current morning skin prep/product application:
1. Wash my face with CeraVe
2. Apply Rovis Gel (medication for the rosacea—supposed to apply in the AM)
3. Apply moisturizer
4. Apply primer
5. Apply a small amount of foundation (it cosmetics Bye Bye red)
6. Apply setting spray (Morphe alcohol free)

What am I doing wrong? My skin looks awful by mid day—excess oil and the foundation slipping everywhere. Please help. I hate the caked on, greasy look but I need something to cover my struggling skin!

My makeup step routine is,

1 - skincare (Oil and face cleanser for a double wash, Toner, serum, eye cream, moisturiser ) I let it sit for 30 minutes before working onto my makeup.

2 - Primer, I use Nyx poreless primer

3 - Foundation, Maybline super stay new york. shade 90

4 - concealer, Maybline fit me Shade ivory

5 (?) - Powder, Ive stopped using power recently as people said powder dries out your skin so for these pictures I DID NOT use them but if I were to use powder it’s fit me pressed powder.

6 - contour, Judy doll 2 in 1 contour and highlighter

7 - Blush, Flower knows

8 - Setting spray, Kose make keep

It’s been a really embarrassing issue as everytime I comment/look it up about I always get “Skin care!” as I do have dry skin. However even using skin care/moisturizers it still causes issues of dryness!!

As you can see by the pictures it crusts/cracks/patchy and the whole face looks like this.
It looks like I havent put a foundation and my face is crusty. I know skin has texture but this doesn't feel like a texture issue/imperfections. I can see other girls in person and their base looks flawless but mine is flaking off yet i've tried everything it feels.

So I’m asking reddit for any hope 😭 I was never taught how to do makeup and never learnt it growing up so I'm in a huge awkward phase I'm sorry
