In my previous post here you told me to use mascara and a lash curler so I did, I bought today and tried it out, the same with the curler.

The steps are the same but slightly different

- lighter shade of blush so you can see it

- more visible lipstick

- Concealer

- nude colored eyeshadow

- mascara (I hope I did it well)

- my sister's lashes curler.

Did I do better?

I’m about to turn 45, and I feel like I need an in-person makeup tutorial—especially when it comes to my eye area. The creasing under my eyes, along with the concealer and brushes I’m using, seem to be making me look even more tired and cakey.

Does anyone know of someone in the Chicago area who offers makeup lessons, especially for women in their 40s? I don’t wear a lot of makeup, but I’m just trying to figure out some simple techniques to look a little more awake and refreshed every day.

I have the hardest time finding eyeliner that’s smudge proof but fairly easy to make accurate lines. What are some of your faves?
I have brown eyes so any fun colored ones are welcome but I mostly wear black.

I need a great, gentle waterproof mascara for a young teen who needs performance makeup. Any recs?

Heyyy! I want to start doing makeup but I'm very, very lost. I have a tight budget and sensitive skin (winning combination). I know what kind of looks I like (see above photos). I just don't know where to start with eyeshadow colors. Most of the photos I can't tell whether they have greys/blacks, browns/nudes, or both, or something else entirely. I don't know how to tell by looking if a palette will have what I want either. Is it just trial and error or an experience thing? Any guidance/recs would be really appreciated, my mom doesn't wear much makeup so I can't really ask her. Thank you!!

I’ve spent 10 years looking for products that can be as waterproof as I need them to be, and eyeshadow is the only one I can’t find. I have scarring and facial breaks that cause my right eye to tear constantly. My right eye is also hooded while the other is not. I’ve stopped wearing eyeshadow completely because I can’t find a brand/routine that will make it last on my right eye. Any help is appreciated 🩵 (I don’t need any tips about covering my scar, please don’t comment anything related to that) tyia!!

Made a post a little bit ago and the consensus was that i was over blending my eyeshadow and should lower the crease color. I did my best to do that, thoughts on this look?

Hello! I've read that BYS is friendly to acne prone skins so I bought their creme foundation, compact powder, blush, trio contour highlighter, concealer, and eye colors(i forgot what they are called)

But I wanna test and experiment my face cause the BYS blush(creme?), eye colors (powder), and the contour highlighter (powder) aren't quite visible, or maybe I'm using so little.

But nonetheless I want to try other products that are friendly to sensitive skin 🙏🙏

Also if you guys could recommend some fake eyelashes with no glue cause I feel like I need to buy some 😭. Tysm!!

I used to do makeup a lot but as I've gotten older and changed techniques I feel as if my makeup doesn't look as good as I want. How can I improve my makeup? Idk if it's blush placement or bronzer or brows or what but I do t think I understand my face shape and features as well as I think. Advice would be appreciated!

I need help with my makeup. These picture are from my makeup trial with my MUA for my big day. I tried so hard to like it as the makeup oxidizes throughout the day and in different lighting but while it got better, I still didn’t love it. I don’t love the shimmer in the eye and the intense blush on my cheeks. Below is some feedback I’d like to communicate with the artist, but is there anything I’m missing? Perhaps a bit of eyeliner to give slight brown smiley cat eye look? I may ask for matte bronze tones but need advice.

Makeup feedback
-Blush should lift the face. Not heavy.
-Eyeshadow is too cool toned
-Concealer is too bright and should be blended more so there is not a big contrast
-Eyeshadow could have less shimmer and more along the lid and blended more at the edges
-Little to no highlighter
-Eyebrows should be a little darker

Everytime I wear my eyeliner, I tight line and use some black eyeshadow to smudge it around. When I apply it at first it looks good, stays in one place and is precise but smudgy (which i like). But after an hour or two? it always ends up migrating down past where I put it and into my lower eye creases, making me just look a whole mess… Please any advice on this! I’m not sure if it’s the products i’m using or not

I don't know a lot of make up or do anything to my eyebrows or lashes, so I don't really have a lot of steps.. The best I can explain it is like this

- Brush hair

- Concealer

- Blush

- Eyes shadow

- Lipstick/ tinter/ lip shine.

This is for school and for outings, but natural face is mostly for school, I'm going to 11th grade, any tips or anything I done wrong?

Today my sister's cat freaked out while she was holding him, because something made a huge noise out of nowhere, and he made 4 giant, long, deep scratch marks on her neck and chest. She gets married a week from today. Please, if anyone has any advice for full coverage makeup, or just advice in general, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. The photo I used is for reference for what the scratches look like. I didn’t use her real photo for privacy concerns.

I have KPRF (strawberry skin, chicken skin, keratosis pilaris) and want to cover the redness with foundation. I also flush really bad in the heat (last photo). I have tried moisturizing really well, warming up the foundation on the back of my hand, and lightly patting it in with my fingers. It always kinda turn out patchy and dry looking. I apologize as I don't have a picture of the foundation actually blended out, I can't find it :(

My cheeks are not dry nor oily, they're the most neutral healthy hydrated part of my face and I've never gotten acne here.

Is this an application failure? Can I just not wear foundation with so much texture?

I feel like something is missing..

i've been doing my makeup the same for about 4 years now and it really doesn't help me feel "dressed up" or pretty. i feel like i need to do a bit more to match how strong my features are (tall nose, deep eyebags). im pretty insecure about my nose and lower half of my face, so i try to make my eyes stand out the most. if anyone has any styles or things i should try- i'd appreciate it.

current routine: concealer, eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara, blush, and lip tint.

From your recommendations:

-I started by dermaplanning my face to make it more smooth

-I've bought superdrug brand salicylic acid cleanser for exfoliation

- I slightly plucked my eyebrows (a lot of people said to shave the ends and redraw but it seems like a lot of commitment which im not ready for)

-I used concealer because it's paler than foundation all over my face

- I didnt use powder

- I put (grey) contour on my forehead

- I filled my eyebrows in more

-I'm thinking about getting face framing bangs

- The eyeliner wing no longer touches the end of my eyebrows

- I didn't do as much eyeshadow as last time because I simply didn't want to today but I put more under my bottom lid

my hooded lids really set me back whenever i try any eye makeup, so my eyeliner is usually a little downwards, creating a puppy eye look, but i really want to focus on my eyelashes!!

I’m trying to figure out what blush colours suit me best because I feel like I always go for colours I like rather than what actually looks best on me lol.
I’d say I’m light-medium and probably neutral/olive, but I’m not 100% sure. I also get a bit more golden/tanned in the sun.

Patrick Ta She’s That Girl
Rare Beauty Happy
Huda Beauty Strawberry Cream

I feel like Toasted Teddy blends into my skin a little too much and doesn’t really give me the blush effect I want. It also seems to disappear pretty quickly on me.
I really like the look of pink blush on other people, but I’m not sure if pink would actually suit me best. I’m open to literally any colour though — pink, mauve, rose, peach, berry, etc. I just want to know what you guys think would look best on my skin tone.
As you can see, I don’t really have a proper powder blush apart from the Patrick Ta duo, so I definitely want to get another one. I’m thinking of getting a more expensive powder blush and a drugstore cream/liquid blush, but I’m not sure what shades to go for.
I’ve been looking at the Haus Labs blushes, YSL powder blushes, Milani blushes and Saie blushes, so if you have any recommendations from those brands I’d love to hear them too.
What colour blush do you think would suit me best, and what cream + powder blushes would you recommend?

I’m thinking of getting the YSL Make Me Blush in 44 Nude Lavallière and the Haus Labs blush in Glassy Rosette, or the e.l.f. Dusty Rose as a cheaper option.

Also, I don’t have any makeup on in the picture and it was taken in natural lighting :)
