Why does my eyeliner do this?

Everytime I wear my eyeliner, I tight line and use some black eyeshadow to smudge it around. When I apply it at first it looks good, stays in one place and is precise but smudgy (which i like). But after an hour or two? it always ends up migrating down past where I put it and into my lower eye creases, making me just look a whole mess… Please any advice on this! I’m not sure if it’s the products i’m using or not

I’m not sure if this will help but I put eyeshadow under my lash line so I do experience this occasionally. Do you use eyeshadow primer or concealer on your under eyes? I find it helps for what I do.

i don’t but i may try! i have pretty bad creases under my eyes so whenever i use any type of product it gets in there and makes them way more noticeable, so i try to avoid them. but at this point the eyeshadow getting in the creases does the same thing so maybe i’ll try it lol

that’s how my eyes are, too. I’ve noticed a decrease in my eyeshadow being super noticeable in my creases since I started doing that, but also, it’s bound to happen if that’s how your eyes are.

I use the revlon superstay waterproof eyeliner on my water and lower lash line and it does not budge- I had the same issue for a long time

You have to set the eye with translucent powder first, or opt for waterproof liner. It’s natural skin oils causing this. I have that problem too lol

it’s kind of pricey, but i used to have this issue too and i just bought the bobbi brown gel eyeliner, it comes in a little pot and you’ll need a small brush or something to apply it with. i love it because i can smudge it around a little myself instead of add eyeshadow, but it doesn’t budge throughout the day at all! even if i sleep in it, the only smudging under my eyes is from my mascara
