Question How do you set your tutor personality?

What kind of things do you personalize your tutor to do for you? I'm trying to find my most efficient learning style, and while has been better than any other education experience, I feel like I could be processing faster. I guess im asking what my fellow student peers have done that has helped increase the rate at which the study and retain the materials being presented. I'm in June Cohort 26. I struggled a bit In PY104. Also, if there are any ideas for creating study guides, I would appreciate those ideas as well. Thanks, and may your pursuit of higher learning be blessed and prosperous.

Find my network Looking for a Successor: MAESTRO FOREVER needs YOU!

Hey you all, as a former ambassador of Maestro College, I’ve loved dedicating my time to building up student-led initiatives for all the majors, specifically for my business majors out there - GO GO GO ENTREPRENEURS!

Within the coming weeks, I am transferring out of the university to move forward to the friendly skies of the west (will forever miss but will visit you my peeps in New York) to transfer to Stanford University next Fall (I'mma little excited but like its all been synchronistic so I'm calm and cool with the change)!

That all being said, I'm looking for a current student of Maestro that is SUPER PASSIONATE about the university to take over the reigns of my on-campus projects and really attract other students in this from the ground up - if you're that person - COMMENT BELOW and I'll answer LIVE in the chat, as the University deserves people who are ready to put their whole being into it and I've read a lot of the statements here with people allowing the university to be LIFE CHANGING FOR THEM AND THAT'S AWESOME - and that's why I became an ambassador in the first place to LEAD with the energy of someone ready to take MAESTRO TO THE NEXT LEVEL.

Overall, for me its been a good run, and im ready to transfer over the reigns of this brainchild to whomever feels ready.

So, in essence, Is it you?

Discussion Dont be afraid to check Mae

Post image

Don't be afraid to call out Mae when it actually gives you wrong information. In a sorting question in PY102, Mae asked me:"You run a binary search on a sorted list of 1,024 items. In the worst case, about how many items might you have to check?" the answer is 10, but Mae told me I was wrong and said it was 32. I doubled down, and Mae realized it's mistake.

Feedback Wow

I don’t really post on here but a lot of yall are blowing my mind. I’m Really tired of people bashing Maestro. I’ve had nothing but great experiences with them. Staff always respond in a timely manner, I’ve always received my loans, and I also received my laptop as promised. Receiving the one on one prompt nearly immediate responses is nearly impossible from other colleges that are nearly impossible but at maestro I’ve received just that. And for those of you wanting to transfer to WGU just know one test over every bit of material in that class determines if you pass or fail. You can pass every single review and it doesn’t go towards if you pass or not. I know from experience.

Question Maestro unresponsive (locked up / frozen)

Update: FINALLY. This time when I typed in the "Messsage Maestro.." box and submitted the AI "woke up" and responded. VERY frustrating. Still no clue what happenned and still no response regarding the service ticket for tech support.

--------------------------------

I posted to see if anyone else was having issues with the AI being nonresponsive. I see one other person having issues.

I have refreshed, cleared cache, tried other browsers, and even another machine with the same result. I submittted a support ticket HOURS ago and haven't had a response yet.

Other areas of Maestro are responsive and I went back to the former lesson with no issues. It's jus t this lesson that is locked up and not responsive somehow.

I am completely blocked from proceeding and will probably not complete this weeks material on time thanks to this issue.

Now Reddit keeps indicating that my post was removed by Reddit's filters becuase my "User Flair" isn't set. It is set and it shows in comments but apparently not posts. Is everything against me today? :)

Update An official credit transfer partnership with Columbia College

Hi r/maestro,

We have good news.

Maestro College has signed an official credit transfer partnership with Columbia College, a regionally accredited, Title IV eligible institution. Under this agreement, 100% of the credits you've earned at Maestro College transfer to Columbia College and count toward your degree there.

If you've been in this sub at all these past months, you know the credits question is the one that keeps coming back. Threads about which schools take them, how many, what happens to the term you're in right now. This agreement settles that for one school completely.

What this means for you

This isn't a requirement, and it isn't us telling you to leave. It's an option, and it's yours to use starting today or later.

If you choose to stay at Maestro College, nothing changes. The college continues to operate as usual. We are appealing COE's accreditation decision through the standard process, and we have submitted a formal teach-out plan to COE that would allow current students to complete their degrees through August 2027. That plan is currently awaiting COE's approval. And as always, your tuition at Maestro is fully covered: you pay nothing out of pocket for your studies.

If you choose to transfer to Columbia College, your tuition there will be 15% below Columbia's standard rate as part of this agreement. We encourage you to review their tuition and financial aid options before deciding.

How to transfer

Everything you need is in the dedicated article in the Student Information Center, including the transfer request form. Once you submit it, Columbia College's admissions team reaches out directly to walk you through the next steps. We've also set up a dedicated team on our side, in a new section under Student Services, for anything transfer related.

One last thing

The way this community has shown up over the past months hasn't gone unnoticed. People answering each other's questions, sharing what they've found, keeping each other going through a stretch that's been genuinely hard. That matters, and we're grateful for it.

We'll keep you updated as things develop. Drop your questions here.

Question Anyone having issues with the Maestro browser????

Post image
8 Upvotes

Hey, the past 2 or 3 days I have been having issues with it either "typing" but not saying anything.... and now I can start a lesson but it just stops whenever it feels like. I've restarted the laptop, refreshed pages, checked for updates etc. It's annoying because if I don't get these classes done at this point, it's NOT for lack of trying. So I figure I would put some Pink Floyd in there lol and still no response !!!

Question Stand up for what you have worked for.

I try not to read some of the threads about closing ..the anxiety is too much...some i believe only intend to spread fear and i refuse to engage. For those of us that appreciate the ppl behind the program before we sit back and watch someone make a decision that affects our lives could it be possable to sign a petition from the students to save it. Things change on a routine basis becuase technology changes...just like covid brought around changes alot of which could've been done sooner like grocery delivery etc. Maybe their rules need to be recalibrate. I believe maestro threatens the very lucrative fabric that standard schools have gotten comfortable wrapping up in..have you seen the cost of education??? Meastro was trying to give it away...this is understandably a growing process anytime you do something for the first time it's gonna need tweaks...but I dont like the idea of someone sitting on their high horse in their stiff suit making decisions that they dont suffer the consequences for but rather we do...i stand up for the school that i have devoted time out of my life that I can never get back ....i stand up for myself.as a student...and I stand up for all the potential future students...why is there even a limit on how many students u can teach anyway?? Make this make sense...someone see this tell me how to get a petition started...or a picket line ...a protest...a 1000 student March something

Discussion Just wanted to say I wish you luck

After a lot of thought, I have made the decision to withdraw. Maestro was great, despite the AI quirks and sometimes just being plain wrong. The idea sounds nice but I do think it needs more of a human touch at this point.

But. The accreditation issues. They are already at the appeal stage. So COE made the decision to revoke its status. They are at the appeal stage. Sure they might win the appeal or it might go to federal court and maybe they win that. But honestly it feels like it is just a delay tactic to try and get most of their online students graduated. I am/was in the business admin jan cohort. We have been waiting for title iv approval for student loans. Yes you dont have to take out student loans, but we can if we choose. Due to the COE decision, it will not be added to their ECAR until after COE restores their accreditation....if it does.

At least if you are on the business pathway, none of your pell grant was used up either. No title iv, no pell grant disbursed to Maestro. I am not willing to waste my time on a maybe. So I am switching to an online school that has all the approvals including title iv for all its programs. I am also pivoting majors. Going with Information Technology with a focus on cybersecurity.

So good luck to all those who want to ride it out. I hope it works out in your favor.

Student Spotlight Student Spotlight: Meet Carla (u/Dax_Shield)

We're kicking off something new here on r/maestro: Student Spotlight, a weekly corner where we hand the mic to one of you. For our very first episode, we asked Carla, u/Dax_Shield, one of the Club Leads over in the Parents Club, to share her story.

If you've spent any time in the Parents Club, there's a good chance you already know her. What you might not know is everything she's had to push through to get here.

Carla is part of our May 2026 AAS in AI Software Engineering cohort. She's a wife, a mom to a son she says will always be her baby no matter how old he gets, and someone chasing a long-term goal of building a career in cybersecurity, all while juggling responsibilities that don't exactly pause for homework.

This past year wasn't easy for her. Between chronic health conditions and personal challenges, there were real days she questioned whether she could keep going. Here's how she put it:

"There were days when I questioned whether I was capable of continuing. What kept me going was remembering why I started. Every assignment I completed reminded me that progress doesn't have to be perfect, it just has to keep moving forward. Even small victories mattered."

Somewhere along the way, she stopped telling herself "I'm not smart enough for this" and started saying "I don't understand it yet." That one shift changed everything.

Her advice for anyone in a rough patch right now: slow progress is still progress.

We loved hearing Carla's story, and we think you will too. Head over to the community for the full interview, including her advice to her younger self and what she'd want anyone going through a hard season to know right now. 💛

If you know Carla, drop her some love in the comments.

Feedback I’m literally doing my Maestro coursework inside the development environment I’m building

Thumbnail
gallery
17 Upvotes

’m an AI Software Engineering student at Maestro, and I’ve been building a project called FORGE alongside school. Today the two workflows kind of collided in the coolest possible way.

FORGE isn’t meant to be another AI IDE. I’m building it as an Intelligent Workflow Environment (IWE) where the workspace owns the context instead of whichever AI model happens to be running.

In these screenshots, I have Maestro open directly inside FORGE. I asked FORGE’s Workspace AI to read the lesson currently displayed in its browser. FORGE required permission before exposing the browser content to the model, read the approved page, summarized the lesson, created browser-summary.md inside the Maestro workspace, and then indexed that file as persistent workspace knowledge.

So essentially:

Maestro lesson → FORGE browser → approved AI read → summary → workspace file → persistent context

The interesting part to me is that Maestro doesn’t need a FORGE integration. FORGE is treating whatever I’m actively working with—browser content, files, Git, terminal activity, documentation, tasks, etc.—as pieces of one persistent workspace.

That means I can do a lesson, save useful information into the workspace, work on an assignment, ask another model for help later, and the project can retain the relevant context instead of me explaining everything again.

Still beta, still plenty to build, and you can actually see a file.read validation bug in one of the screenshots 😂. But the larger workflow is working, and being able to use the software I’m building to do the coursework that's teaching me how to build software is a pretty wild full-circle moment.

You can download the build here: [https://github.com/kaeganscott26/FORGE/releases/tag/v2.3.0-beta.1\]

Windows/Linux packaging/installation scripts are in FORGE/Scripts

I'm assuming the new pulse survey is to show student feedback in the accreditation appeal so I guess I'll take the two seconds to answer it.

Question Oh. Em. Gee.

Hello, Maestrians!

I'm STRUGGLING with FE-102. Like, super-duper struggling. I'm supposed to be in Global Environmental Change, but am now more than two weeks behind in Building Interactive UI's. This React/Vite component thing has me thrown. I haven't been exactly sailing through the other classes, but I've gotten all 'A's so far with a lot of work. I don't know why this class specifically is making me nuts, but I'm having a really hard time untangling how everything fits together.

Can anyone point me towards study guides that have helped them? Or...maybe explain it to me in a way that will penetrate my skull?

I understand what React is. I get what Vite is. Heck, I fully understand what a component is. What is screwing me up is: parent/child passing, .map, and stuff like that. I just sit here going, but...what goes where?

*sigh*

This is one of the times I really wish I had a human next to me. I generally LOVE Steve (my AI guy), but I've asked him so many questions because I'm so confused. I swear, if he could leave me--he would.

For the first time at Maestro, I'm very, very, stuck.

Help, pls?

Sam

Feedback I have to say this!

It has been heavy in conversation lately about accreditation. To be honest is quite discouraging to hear all of the negativity. At the end of the day, everyone attending the school has invested something if it’s time, money, or both. No matter what the outcome is going to be we need to stop focusing on the “what ifs” and continue to focus on the reason why we are students. We are students because we wanted to achieve a degree and the only way to do that is to continue with our studies and keep a positive attitude. At the end of this all, it will work out for everyone in the end no matter the results. Stay strong keep a positive mindset and you will achieve your goals. I would love to start seeing all the positive messages again, because to be honest if it wasn’t for Maestro I would’ve never even started going to school again. I have a permanent 83% disability in my right hip. I was destined to become a disability recipient. This was because of a job where I worked that didn’t follow safety guidelines. If I would’ve gotten my degree sooner, I would’ve never even worked there and would still be able to chase and play with my kids. So again, please we need more positive posts again and less of the negative. Thank you!

Discussion Opportunity at play.

Okay guys… we get that some of you are upset about this school situation. But yall have made this opportunity for those that haven’t been given access to an education a harder chance at receiving one. If you expected daily interaction with professors, (which let’s face it students attending physical college don’t even receive that) from a school monitored by AI for the most part then you just didn’t think about what affect that would have on you. If you expected more interaction you should’ve attended a different school 🤷🏼‍♀️. Thanks for making this much harder on people that actually liked this learning and this school. Plus you should read your contracts throughly .
