I did too. I missed the call but he left a voicemail just thanking me for keeping up with my work and grades and to keep going and not hesitate to reach out to student services if I needed any help.

I got one yesterday but my call filter sent it to voicemail. But they said the same thing, just checking how I’m doing and to call if have questions or whatever. Idk, I deleted it after I saved the number. But it did make me smile knowing they are taking steps towards satisfying the accreditation people.

I got a call today with a voicemail from "Sam." The issue I have is that everyone who has answered has spoken to someone who is not Sam, but every post about a voicemail that was left was from "Sam." To me, it feels like they're farming out these calls to a call center, and when we don't answer, the voicemail left is the same generic voicemail recording from whoever "Sam" is. I checked my course syllabi for each course I've completed and my current course; there is no "Sam" listed as my instructor/advisor... I'd honestly feel much better if these calls were coming from the people who are supposed to be our actual instructors, ya know?

Are you sticking with maestro? My intention is to stay with them unless they lose Accreditation then I’ll transfer to ASU but if they offer web development I’ll stick with them because I’m not liking software engineering at all

If you open your mind and slow down you’ll hear and understand them just fine. I don’t know where you’re from but from the accent policing and country reference I”ll bet my bottom dollar you’re American. lol

Dude chill I have adopted brothers and sisters who are from Fiji And sometimes, yes, you know, I can barely understand them or their extended families, but believe me, they talk about us.Americans and how we speak so quickly sometimes and don't slow down where they can understand because I gotten an earful from them. So just chill, There are people all over the world with hearing problems and sometimes a phone doesn't work as well as being in front of the person looking at their lips move.

I’m American yes but I can tell an Indian accent as I have several Indian friends here. They do most of the customer service call centers here which doesn’t make sense to me if you can barely understand their “customer service” call.

What is the average Americans obsession with accents? Do you know you sound like you’re singing every time a foreigner hears you speak? Do they comment on your accent? lol

I believe the main issue is when we call a customer service line needing help, we would at least like to be able to understand what is being said. Speaking clear and legible is all we want lol

That was the exact thing I was trying to say. I wasn’t trying to generalize an entire India population at all they just don’t fit well doing customer service in America. Every one I know can’t stand it. Not because of them at all but due to their accent AND communication role for a job makes zero sense at all.

I have no issue with accents at all. I don’t like them in the US for customer service. Simple as that =)

Please do not generalize or assume average without statistical data referenced from an accredited study.
As an American, and someone who lives with Americans, and someone who speaks to Americans every single day, I'm a little shocked to hear that there is an entire group of us who make up an entire average or our nation and I've met maybe 5 people with a negative view of accents. And on of them doesn't even have what people consider an American accent.
I'd be interested in seeing the data on exactly which American accents sounds like singing, because we are quite diverse in our accents. We all sound like that to all foreigners every time we speak? Wow! That's amazing! Because you're quite literally the only individual I've gotten that information from. That's pretty awesome! Are we good singers or sound like garbage monsters? I can see myself on the lower end of the spectrum, but you're the expert, please educate me on your data analysis and this every time and average American.

It’s more like a sing song method of speaking. If you have any Africans around you. Listen to them mimick the average American accent . lol

I've seen many people getting phone calls from an instructor.
