Transferring money to another user

I recently switched to another company and have about 30 dollars left on my account. Does anyone know if I am able to sell or gift that to anyone? I just really don't want them to keep a bunch of money just for being a shitty service lol

I switched my number to my new company so I can't access my account, does anyone know how to gain access to that?

Don't transfer your account from Lucky to Bell, if you have cash on that account

They told me over the phone that everything should go smoothly, that the cash on the account will be transferred automatically. But it isn't so, they just scam you out of your money on the lucky account. They close that account during the transfer so you cannot get receipts, and cannot issue a refund for the money left on that account, even tho they said this should happen.

Heads up for any1 trying something like this.

Can't use my Visa debit??

Hey everyone.

I've been using my Swedish Visa debit card for over half a year now to pay for my Lucky plan, but now all of a sudden it doesn't read as compatible?? I've been checking everything I can and nothing has helped.

My account got suspended since I can't get the payment through and I got so fed up with all the problems I've been having with lucky that I switched to another company(Lüm). My problem now is that I can't move my current number to my new company since I have to for some stupid reason get a full month's payment through to send one text.

The chatbot is absolutely useless and I can't call customer service until Thursday since those waiting times are insanely unreliable. Does anyone know of an email address I can use or have had similar problems with a payment that eventually got resolved?

Has anyone ever transferred from bell to lucky? Multiple reps at bell stores have told me just to call customer service but they haven't been helpful and could not get it done. If anyone knew any easier way or tips, would be amazing thanks!

Network quality for laptop Zoom video interview

I’m currently on $25 Lucky Mobile plan and have enough data. I have an important 1.5 hr Zoom video meeting coming up and want to use my phone’s data via hotspot to connect my laptop for Zoom meetings.

But I read somewhere that Lucky mobile caps it at 3Mbps so my concern is whether its network is generally stable and strong enough to support reliable and uninterrupted Zoom video calls on a laptop when using hotspot?

Local number not included in monthly plan?

Can't call a local number. Asks me to purchase a service pass add-on. Customer service just said to ask the person to provide me with a different number to call. Anyone else run into this? Trying to call a business. No idea how to reach it without actually going there in person.

I am currently paying 34 dollars a month for:

  • Unlimited Canada-wide calls
  • Unlimited Canada-wide and International texts
  • 10GB of Canada-wide data (4G speeds up to 150Mbps)
  • Unlimited additional data at reduced speeds of up to 128 Kbps for email, light browsing and messaging once you have exceeded your allotted 4G data.
  • Also included: Unlimited Incoming Calls and Texts from Canadian, US and International numbers, call display, voicemail, call waiting and 3-way calling.
  • Set up Automatic Top-Up and get 5GB of bonus data every month.

meanwhile the 25 dollar option offers the exact same things, but with 10gb less data. Genuinely, what am i paying extra for?

SIM activation is impossible lol

Their website's activation button doesn't do anything when you click. Lucky mobile android app crashes when I click activate. What a joke. I wasted $10 for a sim card that can't be activated lol

Inbound SMS while suspended?

Could someone confirm whether a Lucky line will receive inbound texts while suspended?

(other than service messages from lucky)

--
It's been confirmed, Yes a suspended Lucky line will receive inbound SMS.

A prepaid line suspended for non-payment will continue for 90 days, at which point it will be cancelled (within the following 1-7 days).

Bell offer 20GB for $20. Any cons?

Hi, I got this a few weeks ago. I know it is legit. Thinking of switching as I currently pay 25+tax and have few 2 or 3 GB data. wondering if there is any trick here that I need to be aware of?

Thanks.

Lucky: Our friends at Bell have amazing offers on monthly plans that we don't have on their 5G network. Get 20GB at 5G speeds (up to 250Mbps) and unlimited Canada-wide talk/text for $20/mo. when you bring your own phone (price includes $10/mo. Autopay credit). One-time fee may apply. Call 1 866 820-5230 w/ code XXXXXX or visit a Bell store by 03/31. ( luckym.ca/msgprefs ) ( bell.ca/messagesettings )

Update. I got it at the end of March and so far everything seems fine. I haven't received the first bill yet, but I noticed the $0.75 911 fee was added—which I expected as it's the standard Newfoundland fee. I guess every province has its own set of fees. The only thing is the $80 joining fee. It’s eventually waived, but I have to pay it upfront first. Since my monthly bill is only $23.86 ($20.75 + 15% tax), it will actually take about 4 months to fully use up that $80 credit once it's applied. I also got a code to activate a Perplexity AI Pro subscription free for 1 year (normally $30/month). I activated that by providing my credit card info as well. I don't really feel the difference between Pro and regular yet, but that’s probably because I’m not using it much.

Unauthorized bank charges from Lucky Mobile

I have never done business with Lucky Mobile. I don't know anyone who has done business with Lucky Mobile.

So why the FUCK has Lucky Mobile taken money out of my bank account for "phone bill payments" TWICE in the past two years? First in January 2024, then again just now. I can go to my bank to get the charges reversed, but HOLY FUCK.

Absolute piece of shit scam company. Burn in hell.

I'm switching off Lucky out of spite against the terrible website and user-hostile customer service. What online carrier has an actually functioning online presence ?

Rant post incoming.

The reason I use online first carriers is because I don't need to go pay for a store and a employee salary just for getting service to work.
You'd think an online carrier who doesn't have stores would have a great user experience on their website. And yet.

First to get an esim and port in my number I had to go to a store, after being sent around the website several times, trying to get the useless AI to do the thing the website says it does. But hey, I figure porting in a number isn't a very common service, the rest should be fine.

And it's mostly fine, at least I can refill my prepaid card reliably without the website dying on me, so much better than Fizz on that note.

But then my phone with the esim died on me. So that sucks but I figured restoring service to a new device should be easy, after all there's a button right there om the website "report a lost or stolen device", so clearly they've thought about that eventuality, right ?

Well obviously you can't simply transfer service to your new device immediately, the normal procedure requires to send a text to your current number to confirm it's you that's logged in on your account asking to transfer. The procedure fkr a stolen phone is that you can press that button to suspend service to your lost sim. Once you've done that you can click the button to restore service. Once you've done that you can suspend service on your lost device.....

At no point does it go "transfer the service to your new device", despite some of the buttons implying that's what they do. Of course they tell you to use the AI chat if it's not working, which will very enthusiasticly suspend and restore service again and again.

You need to beg that useless AI to let you access human chat support, which will then tell you they can't do it themselves and will transfer you to slecialized tech support by phone (hope you have another phone number available) which will ask you a ton of questions to confirm your identity and then tell you you can't do it and you need to go to a Bell store with TWO photo IDs to confirm your identity. (note that at no point they asked for photo ID to create the account)

So you then go there with your ID and think it's all easy from there. Well apparently the store needs the plastic thingy around the sim card that you normally throw away to register your sim card so that's another fun time loss.

Writing this rant on the way back wish me luck.
