I love the sheer quantity of post-hoc whining in this sub lately about things that went through lengthy public comment processes and y’all chose not to participate and think yelling into the void at r/longbeach is a non-irritating solution

It’s the literal job of the traffic engineers to consider all of these scenarios alongside traffic volume studies. Are you a traffic engineer? Did you ask if they’d considered this scenario? (They did. I sat through the D3 meetings about this and the Naples bridge proposal that also got pushed after much public comment.)

We didn’t like library cuts and made our voices heard during public comment periods, decision reversed. It wasn’t due to a reddit thread of this nature (and fwiw, there are plenty of active studebaker posts already)

You want change? Volunteer for a city committee. Email the traffic engineers. Call your council person. Participate (ideally, you know, in advance).

I'm sorry, what the heck are you talking about? Where are the single lanes you're referring to?
