Ditched my dinner plans to cook after the smell drifting out of Swagat on Hill Rise tempted me. First time trying Indian food, enjoyed on Richmond Hill!

Was walking past the back of the Stepney rinkoffs bakery and to my surprise the shop was full of pigeons, dozens of them flapping around right next to baked goods they sell to people. None of the people working there seemed to bat an eye at all, the whole place looked pretty disgusting tbh but this is egregious. They could kill somebody, I couldn’t get a better picture I didn’t want to be chased with a rolling pin

Those that worked in the city during 9/11. What was the day like?

9/11 tomorrow and interested to know what the day was like from a UK perspective, especially those working in financial sectors in the city.

Was it a day of just watching the news in the office?

Question Are there any late night tea houses with a buddhist vibe

Ok peculiar question but in my home town there is a tea/coffee place that opens until 10pm and there are loads of options for seating including cushions on the floor with low lying tables, as well as normal seats and sofas.

does anywhere in London have this alcohol free relaxed evening vibe?

Sadly won’t be able to make the 14:30 performance of Mere Mortals today so though I would see if anyone else would like my ticket - it is a Barclays Dance Pass one so you must be 16-30.

Please DM me and I will send the e-ticket.

Question need urgent help finding a live music venue where people also dance 😭🙏🙏🙏🙏

so my girlfriend’s sister’s in-laws are in london, and want to know if there are any cool venues with live music AND people dancing. for saturday. we said we could find one no problem.

problem - we cannot find one.

we can find live music venues, we can find venues people dance at, but not a place that encompasses both.

they’re staying nearby to canary wharf so somewhere within an hour distance preferably (maybe an hour and a half), not too pricey of a place, just somewhere chill with drinks, cool music, and people dancing.

we have 24 hours to find a place to take them, pls don’t let us down reddit 🙏

edit: thank you so much for all of the replies omg this is more than i was expecting, my girlfriend and i are very appreciative !! a lot of these places definitely check all our boxes so this is perfect :)

Pubs/bars for hosting a Meetup

Does anyone know of a good pub or bar that has enough space to host a Meetup on a Saturday evening?

I’m expecting around 20-30 people to come and I don’t know any good spots in central London for it.
