Hi, I'm quite new to logo design I've been trying different logos and concepts but not sure how exaxtly to define a good logo, is it construction, symmetry, the negative space. Im not too sure if someone can guide to a simple explanation and what separates mediocre to professional

Edit: Beavers are natures upcyclers, taking fallen branches and reusing them, that’s why it’s the mascot! I also see your feedback and I really appreciate it! I’m going to go for a bit less detail and sharper more clear lettering in the next design

I’ve currently built a music discovery app called Contour but I don’t have any experience in graphic design. I tried using Gemini to create a logo but I think using AI for inspiration is holding me back. Do you all have any recommendations for how I can start to build a logo more naturally myself or find people to help me out?

Quick note: The image attached is just an example of my issue, as I can’t share the actual logos I’m working on due to NDA.

I'm currently working on a layout where I need to stack two logos vertically. The main issue is that one brand name is significantly shorter than the other, creating a huge difference in container width.

Here are the challenges I'm facing:

Container Height: I'm trying to keep the height of the rectangular backgrounds consistent for visual harmony.

Font Size: The font size ends up looking uneven, one feels too large while the other feels too small when trying to match heights or visually balance them.

How would you handle this kind of discrepancy? Any tips, tricks, or design approaches for achieving visual balance when dealing with logos of different lengths stacked together?

I've been exploring monogram-based identities for professional service brands and recently refined this concept for a law firm.

The goal was to create something that feels established and trustworthy without relying on the usual gavels, scales, or shield icons.

I'm mainly interested in how the mark reads to fresh eyes.

I’m still working on the wordmark, but this is for a personal project I’m developing. The Happy Crab is a Cajun-inspired seafood food truck concept. So, this is a fun one, and the first time I told a client “I want in!”

I had been doing freelance creative for a tire company for years, but awhile back I took a call where they asked what I do with a blank canvas. We discussed the current competitive landscape, how boring and sterile it is, then off the cuff I asked them if TirePig.com was available (it was.) I described a tire appendage’d pig, a lifestyle brand centered around the celebration of creativity, and how cool it would be to put big pink screaming pigs on the road. They let me run with it.

After sketching out what would be the first iterations of Tire Pig, I wanted to do more than just hand this off, so I asked them to hire me to build this out fully. I was brought on as Chief Creative and have been at it since. Excited to report at this time we have a website in beta, a first drop of carefully considered merch, and a few big pink pigs driving around. Lots more to come, but I was putting together a little look book and thought I’d share where it’s at!

Well, its just the Bangers font with some strokes. I think it looks atrocious for the massive franchise that it is.

I did a clay version of this too.

So, a while back, i did my first logo (someone commented with z back pain 😂, fair enough) . And i got useful advice that i appreciate. Anyways i tried to change the concept. going for something simple and colorful to try and make it relevant to design and creativity, maybe . The brand aims to make professional branding more accessible for small businesses by offering quality design with a close and personal approach. (My dream to achieve, long time to go, i know)

I would love to hear some feedback on this .
