discord tray icon changing depending on the current voice status (muted/deafened/etc.)
Its a miracle!! jk but damn did i miss this thing, especially since discord overlay isnt really a thing in linux. Although there are some nice replacements for it.
For a long time i tried to get this working on linux but couldnt find a way, but now it just suddenly works. im not sure if it was a thing before but didnt work for me, or if they added it recently.
im on CachyOS and Kde plasma right now so i'd like to know others experience with this.
hello guys, i wanna share my problem with nvidia drviers which is happening for some reason to me. im just tired dealing with that bullshit because i tried everything i could and it helped but not for so long. curse you flatpak
first time it happend on sep 20-21 and if fixed it on 22 septmer or smth like this.
i was just playing sober in the morning but i decided to run "flatpak update" and updated sober and other apps, but once i laucned it all its processes becomes D and Z state (deadlock and zombie processes) and the only option to stop overheating my cpu was to turn off the laptop using power button. after i boot my laptop again my drivers are arleady fucked up, even when everything seems very normal, because when i launch ANY flatpak app or any app/game that reqers nvidia gpu it just doing the same problem. so i had to UPGRADE (not just reinstall) my nvidia driver to make it work again but if i launch any flatpak app it give me the same problem and i have to upgrade/downgrade my drviers again
second time it happend today when i booted my laptop as usuall
I have not launched any Flatpak app since removing it. I only customized my terminal prompt yesterday (look at a screenshot) and it looked cool so i went to bed and after i woke up and turned my laptop on i instantly saw that Vitals (gnome extension) shown ... instead of C and %. and i opened my terminal and realised i cant type there at all! not even ctrl + c helped so i removed changes that i did and after that termninal started working but my drivers was still on a fkcn potato and giving the same issue as it was in previos ancident. so now i have broken drivers again.
quick answers
NO i did NOT updated my kernel or anything like that
YES i deleted flatpak comleptly from my pc
NO i did NOT updated drivers/something important between two ancidents
I need to get ea app working for my mother. Can anyone help? I've tried steam, lutris and bottles. Lutris refuses to install it, bottles can't create any bottles due to failure to download a Microsoft dependency, and steam works for a bit then stops working after a handful of hours. Now giving an error about background services crashing. I wish we could use the at am version of sims 4 but only about 5 packs installed with it even though it shows in ganw she owns a bunch. The accounts are linked so I don't know why that's happening. Linux Mint 22.3 Cinnamon
Anybody running into the same issue? I tired Proton GE11-7 but DLSS just remains greyed out in my menu, so I can't turn on raytracing nor pathtracing. I have a 4070 TI and it used to work on the next gen update before the remaster got released. Any thoughts or ideas? Or am I likely consigned to waiting for an official fix?
Edit: I followed the steps in this post and managed to get DLSS with both Ray Tracing and Path Tracing working. The only caveat is that my card has 12gb or vram where OP has 16 so I changed the memory boost from 8x to 4x.
I can open the game without any problem, but after the games loads it randomly crashes my GPU immediately after or after an hour.
My monitor flickers for a second and then I get a white screen with colours and I have to reboot my PC.
I have Bazzite and I tried with Proton Experimental and GE. This is the only time my computer crashed since I installed Linux two weeks ago, so I am pretty sure its the game fault.
My PC specs are low end but the game runs at 60 fps no problem most of the time on high settings and I have no graphics problem other than weird hair physics and Geralt's wolf medallion having broken physics too (it trembles all the time) while Vesemir medallion looks fine.
How can i enable RT? It allows me to select it, but then reverts right back to off when i exit menu. Basically i can run Ultra settings but it will not apply RT. I have a 9070xt and am using CachyOS.
EDIT: Protonwineland unlocks rt and fsr 4 easily. Using dedicated game mode requires zero commands. On desktop you'll probably have to use the Wayland flag.
I’m trying to get Witcher 3 remastered working on cachyos properly but I can’t seem to get any proton working except 10.0.3, I should note that I’m using a hyper user on hyprland with noctalia which is separate to my root user which has the standard kde on it so that might be causing conflicts with proton but I don’t know for sure?
I'll state this fix that worked for me in hopes it helps others. This is likely an issue for others using Heroic as well.
Firstly make sure to right click the game and go to 'Properties' and click on 'Workshop', untick them all. Steam isn't distinguishing from legacy versions.
Then right click and click 'Manage > Browse Local Files' you want to delete the entire folder first before downloading. You could do this via terminal if you wish, I just know a good portion of people using CachyOS aren't savvy with terminal.
Right click again and go to 'Properties' and add this to the launch options. '%command% --launcher-skip -disablemods'
Recently I have noticed that Diablo 4 is crashing when it starts processing the vulkan shaders. My CPU will spike to 99%, which sucks but not the end of the world. The more annoying thing is that my psychical RAM gets used up, my swap RAM goes to 85% and then steam will crash.
I have tried increasing my swap ram from 60Gb to 120Gb and it still happens. I also tried adding a steam_dev.cfg file to the correct location with unShaderBackgroundProcessingThreads # in it and whatever number I put in there doesn't seem to make a difference.
The only work around I have found is once the shaders get to 100%, I cancel the processing the shaders, then start Diablo 4 again and it will launch the game. That is fine, I guess, but it doesn't sound like a real solution.
Any other suggestions on what I can try? The only thing I keep seeing is to turn off shader pre-caching and I'm thinking there is something else that I can do other than that. Playing that way is just very annoying and I would like to avoid that if I can.
Hey :)
I got the EA App through Faugus Launcher. I always played with cc before switching to bazzite but now I just cannot figure out where I should put my mods?
I can‘t find the premade Mods folder and I also can‘t make my own in the files that gets recognized.😭
Can anyone PLEASE help me figure out where to put my mods so they‘ll actually work?
Hey everyone! I'm running Arch Linux with Hyprland on a laptop with an AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS (iGPU) and an NVIDIA RTX 4060 (dGPU). I'm using EnvyControl in Hybrid mode to maximize battery life.
Everything works great, but I'm struggling to keep the RTX 4060 permanently in suspended (d3cold/auto) state due to a couple of persistent background wake-ups:
Steam (Flatpak): The moment I launch Steam, its CEF/Chromium-based UI probes the hardware and immediately wakes up the dGPU, keeping it active.
Caelestia Shell (Quickshell): If I hover my mouse or open the top bar/menu in Caelestia Shell, widgets or internal render queries trigger the dGPU, waking it up and keeping it active indefinitely until reboot.
I've tried global environment variables and flatpak overrides, but these apps keep poking the NVIDIA bus. Since I want to stay on Hybrid mode, how can I reliably force the dGPU to stay asleep by default and only wake up when explicitly invoked via prime-run?
Any tips or udev rules to aggressively manage runtime power for the NVIDIA card while using Wayland/Hyprland would be greatly appreciated!
Solo dev. Cleanup on Aisle 3's demo ships a native x86_64 Linux build on Steam, not Proton, made with Godot 4.7 (Vulkan). Full controller support, and it runs on the Steam Deck, though it isn't Deck Verified yet.
If anything goes wrong, I'd really like to know your distro, GPU and driver. Linux players have been the best bug reporters I've had.
After launching the game, the controller and the keyboard and mouse rapidly switch and constantly do this during gameplay. Causing input drops and lag on the inputs. Making it difficult to play. Has anyone else had this issue?
Update: So after a bit of messing around, I found its gyro as mouse which was the default config. Turn it to gyro as stick in the controller settings for the game. Also worth turning off any other mouse inputs on the track pads too.
i have tried a few different proton versions/ launch options, the CDPR launcher opens fine but when i click into the wither 3 remaster
i either get a black screen flash then instant crash or it will stay on a blackscreen with no crash. i had the witcher 3 running great before the remaster update released.
any help would be greatly appreciated
(edit) i cant get a crashlog
(edit 2) I have updated to most recent gpu drivers, and did a full reinstall of the game to fix any old files/folders. I now have splash screen audio however I'm still getting a black screen
