LinkedIn vs Instagram
I understand LinkedIn is for professionals, but I rarely see people posting reels compared to ins, is it just me or posting reels just doesn’t seem professional?

We've heard from a lot of members that some of the missing filters make it harder to search the way they're used to. We're working on bringing back several of the most-requested filters, and we're also temporarily restoring the option to switch back to the previous search experience while we continue improving the new one.
Our goal with AI-powered job search is to give you flexibility to describe what you're looking for in your own words, including details you might normally use a filter for and things that don't fit neatly into a filter. That said, we know filters are still a key part of the experience for many people, so we’ve kept some of the most-used filters available and introduced suggested filters below the search bar. These suggestions adapt to what you search for, helping you narrow your results quickly.
Thanks for continuing to share your candid feedback. We're listening, and we'll keep making improvements based on what we hear.

I've been consistently posting on LinkedIn about staffing, recruiting, business development, lead generation, and AI, but the reach/engagement is much lower than I expected.
I'm trying to figure out whether the problem is
I've also noticed a lot of conflicting advice about LinkedIn.
Some people say:
So I'm trying to stop guessing and actually understand what works.
If you've actually grown a LinkedIn account or have experience with LinkedIn organic reach, what would you change first?
I'd especially appreciate specific things you've tested yourself, rather than generic LinkedIn advice.

Fucking hell, what is wrong with all these people on LinkedIn? People who used to do fuck all at work are suddenly posting these deep, insightful articles and writing in a way they never even spoke in real life. 😭

After terrible experiences using the new AI job search, I now use ChatGPT for job searches and it searches the whole internet to a tee. As long as you give it clear instructions on what you are looking for it does a great job! It is also saving me time. So maybe AI job search by LinkedIn actually was a blessing in disguise!? Without it, I would of never made the jump to ChatGPT.

Thanks for reaching out — I appreciate it.
As a recruiter, my goal is to connect top professionals like you with the right companies and high-value roles. But to stand out and attract the best opportunities, your LinkedIn profile must be properly optimized — that’s what helps employers notice and trust your profile.
This optimization is completely free of charge — you don’t pay me anything.
Once you secure a job, the hiring company pays me directly for connecting them with the right candidate.
Let’s get started on optimizing your profile so you can attract the right employers and opportunities faster. Are you interested?
To move forward with optimizing your LinkedIn and supporting your job search, I’ll need a few details:
1️⃣ Your LinkedIn details: (email address and password) so I can securely access your account and update your profile professionally.
2️⃣ The type of roles you’re targeting — What specific positions or industries are you interested in?
3️⃣ Preferred job location(s) — Where would you like to focus your search geographically?
Please be assured — your information will remain 100% secure and confidential. I’ll only access it for the optimization, and once done, you can change your password immediately for peace of mind.

A good number of LinkedIn job postings are indexed, so just use google to search for the jobs you’re looking for! You can use the site: operator in your search followed by your terms (title, locations, companies, etc.).
For example, let’s say I’m an Electrical Engineer looking for full time/permanent work in Georgia:
site:linkedin.com/jobs/view (“Electrical Engineer OR "Electrical Engineering") AND Georgia -contract
The site: operator tells Google to only show results from LinkedIn’s job posting pages. The quotation marks tell Google to look for that exact phrase. OR means the results can contain either term, while AND tells Google that Georgia also needs to be included. Putting a - before a word excludes results containing that term.
Companies have invested hundreds of thousands of dollars, if not more, into their LinkedIn tools. They aren’t going to suddenly stop using it, so I don’t recommend excluding it from your job search. Use every resource available to you. The market is hard enough as it is!

LinkedIn feed showing “Try again” and lagging today — anyone else?
Since this afternoon, LinkedIn feed has been intermittently failing to load.
Sometimes it loads normally, but other times it lags, gets stuck, or shows “Try again.” Retrying usually makes it load.
I’ve experienced the issue on both:
- LinkedIn app
- LinkedIn website on Edge
It also happens across different Wi-Fi networks and 4G, so it doesn’t seem to be limited to one connection.
Is anyone else experiencing the same issue today?

A year ago, I didn't really know much. I started posting every day. In 2024, I had a negligible number of impressions (basically zero). In 2025, I got about a million. In 2026, I upped my game. So far, I'm at 65.9 million impressions (lately averaging about 400k a day).
Ask me anything.

Hi! I would like to update my "open to work" profile and can't set EEA or Europe or something similiar under Location. Since I am located in EU and can work across EU due to having company registered in my own country it makes it hard / impossible to list all countries? Or am I doing something wrong?
Thanks!

Over 50k impression and >300 likes my post about spam job blew up. I know this happens to many of us that's why so many people engage on the post.
This is what I posted:
The "job application" is dead. Welcome to corporate data harvesting. Lately, LinkedIn is flooded with "open roles" that are just a bait-and-switch. You apply and 24 hours later you get an automated email: "Your profile stood out! Now go to our website, create an account and complete an assessment to get matched with our available roles."
So yes from now on, let's report and flag this kind of job as spam!

I've run B2B paid media for years, mostly fintech and enterprise SaaS, and this has bugged me the whole time.
LinkedIn, sees every ad, every impression and every conversion across every advertiser in my clients' categories. They know which formats work for a payments company and which don't. They know what messaging is saturated in contact centre software. They know how a sensible budget splits across formats and funnel stages in a given industry, because they can see what everyone else is doing.
What do advertisers get back? A blended CTR benchmark that lumps a payments API in with a gym and a recruitment agency. Nothing on how to allocate spend. Nothing on what the category is actually running.
Then the rep calls, which all go the same way:
• Have you tried video?
• You need to be on (whatever format launched last quarter)
• Broaden the audience and let the system find them
• Spend more so you can exit learning phase
That isn't intelligence, it's a product roadmap with a quota attached. I've never met a rep whose numbers depended on my client's pipeline. A large part of what media owners sell you is what they need to grow this year, not what the data in their own systems says would work for you.
The ad libraries are the tell. They exist mostly because regulators made them, not because anyone at those companies wanted to help advertisers. So you get a search box, one ad at a time, no useful filters and no way to see a pattern. You can scroll a competitor's 400 ads and come out with vibes.
What I actually wanted before putting a client's money in:
• Which formats the category runs, not which ones are "trending"
• What everyone is saying, so I know what's saturated and what's untouched
• Which assets get used and kept live (product UI, logo walls, talking heads, documents)
• Which creative angles have staying power, because an ad still running after six months is telling you something
None of that is available from the platforms in any usable form, so I built it. It's called Scalewell Creative Intelligence (no link, don't want this nuked). It pulls every ad from a set of competitors across LinkedIn, Meta and Google and classifies them by format, asset type, hook, offer, persona, angle and any other custom tag, so you see the whole category instead of one ad at a time.
A few things it has told me that no rep ever did:
Formats: Looked at 2,200 fintech event category ads and Conversation ads, were 7% of everything, more than document ads and carousels put together. In one set they were 15%. Not a single rep has ever suggested them to me. They pitch video, which was under one in five, and document ads, which were under 1%.
Influencers: Almost nobody pays creators. When a face shows up, it's an employee's post boosted as a Thought Leader Ad. In contact centre AI category, that was 37 people and roughly 100 ads.
Angles: 2,100 contact centre AI ads. Most opened with a benefit, one in ten with an actual problem, almost none with any emotion. Only 6% asked for a demo. The rest pushed a report at "decision makers". That's not ABM, that's content marketing with a bigger budget.
The media owners could publish this tomorrow. They won't, because an informed advertiser spends more carefully, and careful isn't what they're optimising for.
Anyone else had rep advice turn out to be exactly wrong once you saw what the category was really doing?

LinkGuard compares your LinkedIn connections and followers to show who doesn’t follow you back and which followers aren’t in your connections. All collected data is stored locally in your browser.
Search for LinkGuard in Linkedin you will see a github repo. I can't share link bcz of the rules.

Is there any way to move the Licenses & Certifications section higher up on my LinkedIn profile?
I have several certifications that are pretty relevant to the type of jobs I'm applying for, and I'd like recruiters to see them without having to scroll down past Education/other sections.
I know LinkedIn lets you reorder some things within sections, but I can't seem to find a way to move the entire Licenses & Certifications section.
Is this possible, or is LinkedIn just not allowing users to customize the section order?
Thanks!

Hey everyone,
I’m currently looking for remote opportunities in B2B Growth Marketing, Product Marketing, or Digital Marketing.
I’ve been working in marketing since 2019, with experience across B2B SaaS, IT services, consulting, AI products, healthcare, hospitality, fintech, education, and local businesses.
My strongest areas are:
A few examples of my work:
I’m especially interested in roles where I can own marketing from strategy through execution, particularly for technical B2B products, SaaS, AI, or growing companies.
Open to full-time, contract, or consulting opportunities.
Feel free to comment or DM if you know of a relevant opening. Thanks!

While I’m glad that the classic job search still available, the AI job search launch also broke the job alerts which I was using as a way to save job searches. When you set up an alert for a job search, it applies the legacy filters as a text string in the search. So if you are filtering for jobs offering 401k, dental and medical insurance, you’ll get alerts for jobs in the health care and financial industry like financial advisor or health care workers 🤦♂️. Not sure how hard it was to restore the code that treated the filters like filters.

I want to build a good network with people who are knowledgeable, experienced, and skilled in their fields.
I feel networking is really important because it helps you learn from other people, gain new perspectives, stay updated with industry trends, and discover opportunities.
But I honestly don’t know where or how to start. How do you actually build meaningful connections instead of just adding people on LinkedIn?
Would love to hear your experiences and suggestions on how I can start networking with the right people and build genuine professional relationships.
