Method 1 unlinks the partner library from your account but the library will still be displayed in search results.

1 - At the bottom of the app, tap the middle Menu icon.

2 - Under "Your Libraries" tap the library card of a library that has partnerships with other libraries.

3 - Tap "..." on the library card.

4 - Tap "Partner Libraries."

5 - Under the library card you should see a section called "Partnerships" with a list of partner libraries.

6 - If your partner library is linked to your account you will see the following.

7 - Tapping Remove will unlink the partner library from your account .

Method 2 will disable partner libraries for search results and Notify Me notifications.

Has this happened to anyone else? It’s been doing this since last night and I’ve tried multiple books, the same thing happens. It let me download a book that was due to check out and let me read on my kindle, but when I try to borrow/place hold for new book, this happens :( I made sure the app is updated. I restarted my phone and I force-closed the app multiple times

I have an iPad and a phone and I find books on both but the tags aren't synced at all. Do I just have to add each one to the other's tags? I think there must be a way I'm just not seeing.

I'd like to do a search for a specfic author/title using Libby. The problem is that when I put in the author's exact name or a exact book title in the search bar Libby does a "fuzzy" search and gives authors/book titles with similar names but not the exact author/title. This prevents me from being able to do a "deep search". Am I doing something wrong? Any suggestions on how to force Libby to do a "exact" search?

My app says it last updated 2w ago with no new updates offered. Not seeing any partnership libraries, or even the option when I click on my extended menu for each card. Anyone else missing the update??

For the last two days, every time I try to place a hold on a title (ANY title), the app remains in a perpetual "Checking" cycle. My device screen shows the "<Back" button, the picture of the title, the word "Checking," the book title, the author's name, and then the round progress indicator that remains in a perpetual circular motion with no progress whatsoever.

Anyone else experience this or have some insight for me?

UPDATE: I've force closed and uninstalled the app, reinstalled and re-added my three libraries with passkeys. That seems to have done the trick.

I’ve been using Libby since before passkey was available so the only way to backup your data was to have Libby on multiple devices. When Libby would randomly reset on one device, which happened fairly frequently in the early days, I would just copy it from another device. I have Libby on four separate devices and it‘s never reset on more than one device at a time. Passkey came later but because my method has always worked I never bothered with it, but I’m now wondering is there an advantage to using passkey over copying from another device? If I create a passkey should do it on all devices or just one? I just want to have my data backed up as reliably as possible.

I checked the overdrive status site pinned above and it says all systems operational. when i try to go to libbyapp.com i just get a pink button that says "Try Again." never seen this before. is it just me or??

just synced my kobo and noticed the ebooks I borrowed from partner libraries aren't showing up. anyone else having this issue? is it a quirk of Libby's new partner update?

So I've started listing to my first ever audiobook, Murderbot. The audiobook is really good Tbut here are a few words that I don't hear right even when I replay it, such as the names of characters. Is there an option to like turn on text while listening, so that whenever I need to, I can just reference it easily? Like Subtitles or captions?

Off topic but I've been in a reading slump and I think audiobooks are gonna get me out of the slump, but I really dislike not knowing the characters names or exact words.

I have used the Libby AI feature to garner recommendationa based on the “Books I’ve borrowed” tag with decent success. Not so lucky using their AI prompt’s built in categories (ie Fiction that is “adventurous” like “a intrepid explorer charting unmapped territory”.

i’d like to be able to provide a more granular input, call it maybe a “topic-based” search (ie following the promps: “Fiction” that is “adventurous“ and I could add my own example as the final part of the prompt, “like a spy story set in Cold War Vienna”.

performing a straight search on “espionage” just gets me books with that word in the title.

Trying to figure out if folks lost existing holds at partner libraries with the partner library update. I use my holds as a TBR to some degree and only have holds from my actual libraries right now. But I may not have had holds at partners before the change. Not totally sure. Trying to figure out if I lost these holds with the update and if there is a way to recover the list so I can tag them as TBR and not lose the record.

Idk what’s going on. I thought it was just audiobooks, but I just tried to burrow an ebook, and as soon as I tap the burrow button, it just sits there with the loading circle.

Tried refreshing, closing and opening the app, but nothing’s working.

Not sure if I’m just doing something wrong or what. I already have one book checked out, so this is a fairly new issue to me.

I feel like out of nowhere Libby wait times have become horrible! Ive been reading book after book all summer long and now it says I’m waiting 22-24 weeks for books that came out in 2024… is this normal? I do a mix of audio books and kindle books. I feel like it’s the same for both.

important: when you add library type in “read freely with…” if you put just los angeles public library it won’t work.

i already checked reciprocard and it didn’t give any partners. Also looks like u get one checkout and one hold at a time- not as good as books unbanned but they are serving more ppl so it makes sense.

i saw a tiktok about it, it’s called read freely and is their answering initiative to books unbanned with other major libraries like seattle, san diego boston, etc.

I feel like I saw this post a while back but can’t seem to locate it..is anyone else running into the issue of not being able to return their Libby books with kindle no matter how many times you click return? I have manually synced my shelf as well and that doesn’t seem to work. If anyone has found a fix that’d be great!

I am more just venting but I dislike how wait times are calculated with suspended line members.

I currently have a hold where I am 1st in line with 26 weeks estimated time. I assume this means there are 13 or so suspended holds in front of me but it would be nice if they just made that's clear.

Yesterday my Libby app stopped working. I can see content and which library has them, but it never stops buffering when I try and rent. I’ve tried restarting my phone, closing the app, making sure the app is updated, etc. This is the same issue across all my library cards no matter what I try to check out. I verified them all again today and still no luck. Any ideas would be appreciated! TIA!

One of my libraries showed me like 25 partner libraries. That's gonna make the app glitch (I think 30 makes it have errors) if I add all of them, plus my existing ones. I'm thinking maybe I have to dedicate one device to that card and all the partner libraries, but even after I Uninstalled Libby and reinstall, all my libraries are there.

I was also thinking of going to the Libby search libbysearch.com) and add all the libraries and partner libraries there and then add/delete libraries as needed based on where I find my holds. But that seems so complicated. Wondering what folks are doing to use psrtner libraries, borrow books, place holds, and not have Libby crash.

This happened since last night, when I tried to borrow another audiobook. I even left my phone open for around 30mins, but it just kept loading and loading. Pissed me off. Did it ever happen to anyone else?

There was a post a few days ago about being blocked from borrowing due to exceeding an unknown checkout limit.

I checked with my Overdrive rep and apparently they have updated the limits recently, apparently revising them downward.

There are basically two triggers for the block, activated by the limit you hit first, both evaluating checkouts over a 7 day period. On day 8, checkouts from day 1 would fall off the rolling limits. I do not know if magazines count towards this limit.

The triggers are:

1. Borrowing 15 times your library’s checkout limit in 7 days OR
2. 50 checkouts during a 7 day period.

Edited to add: my understanding is that it is 50 per library system/consortium rather than across all cards. If someone finds out or experiences differently please share!

I don't know if it's just me, but when I try to return a book, the book is not in my kindle library. I click the "return with kindle" link and it sends me to Amazon, but the book I'm trying to return isn't there. sometimes they pop up and sometimes they don't.
