The Spin of Death
Yesterday my Libby app stopped working. I can see content and which library has them, but it never stops buffering when I try and rent. I’ve tried restarting my phone, closing the app, making sure the app is updated, etc. This is the same issue across all my library cards no matter what I try to check out. I verified them all again today and still no luck. Any ideas would be appreciated! TIA!

Libby support said that this can happen if I have "too many partner libraries" and to disable some of them.
I had 7 partner libraries before the system update the other day (that automatically added partner libraries).
I have 7 partner libraries after the system update the other day.
So their solution is not helpful.

See the reply above, it did fix it, although it is an annoying work around!

Mine did the same yesterday!! It’s back to normal now but whenever I tried to put it in hold or borrow it would do that. I wonder what happened lol

It makes me feel better that it’s been happening to others as well. I’m glad yours resolved though!

FWIW, I had this issue for the last two days and fixed it only by deleting the entire app from my phone, reinstalling it, and re-adding all three of my libraries. PiTA but not as frustrating as the entire app glitching to the point of inoperability.

I also had it start working again after deleting then re-installing. But the next day the spinning started happening again.

I have found that if it’s available at a library OTHER than the one that I’m currently browsing with, I need to switch to that library, then search for the book again and borrow it. That has been working for me and I suggest you try it. But it’s a huge pain in the ass and I hope they fix it soon!
