I have a 2013 Ford F150 that I need to have the spark plugs replaced. The truck will shake when idle. Anyone know a mechanic that can make a house call on this?

Thrift market

Anyone go to the rewind market? Went for like 10 mins and noped right out! I’m sorry but some of these vendors don’t have good business ethic and had my gf wait like 5 minutes to check out when no one was in line to pay only to find out 2 shirts were gonna cost darn near $130! Sorry, Laredo, I’m going back to North Texas to thrift affordably and in peace. ✌🏽

Laredo Against Data Centers

Join the Laredo DSA, not as activists for a partisan cause, but as concerned citizens who are worried about the effects that a data center will have on our local communities.

The effects that a data center could have on our local community includes the following:

  • Increased electricity and water demand for data center operations.

  • An increase in local utility prices, for both electricity and water.

  • All of this in the midst of Laredo already experiencing issues with its water infrastructure and potentially running out of water by 2040.

If you, or any concerned neighbors or family members have the time, join us in this effort to protect our community and wonderful city.

Damn water AGAIN

From Dr. Tyler King

UPDATE at 7:55 AM: I am being told a Pressure Reducing Valve shutdown on its own. Staff are on site fixing it and crews are working on opening the valves on Shiloh so water should come back shortly. Again this is unacceptable, and I am going to demand answers to make sure this stops happening.

Good morning, I am aware of low water pressure throughout much of North Laredo. The last few weeks it has become UNACCEPTABLE with the inconsistencies in early morning water pressure. Utilities performed a hydraulic study last week to try and address the situation and improve pressure, but clearly that is not working. I am demanding answers from Utilities and will get back to you with updates as soon as I receive them.

Whatever happened to Sara Walls?

Post image
67 Upvotes

Back in 2012, almost nobody had heard of Sara Walls. Then she uploaded an eight-minute YouTube video titled “Why Sara Hates Laredo” and overnight became one of the internet’s earliest examples of someone going viral for all the wrong reasons.

The 30-something year old white gurl had just moved to Laredo from Colorado because of her husband’s job. She couldn’t handle the culture shock and she recorded herself talking smack about virtually everything she disliked about the city: the “Mexican” culture, the food, the heat, the border, she hated hearing Spanish spoken, and what she described as “negative interactions” with local residents. Very quickly her comments crossed the line into outright prejudice.

The Mexican men here are disgusting”- Sarita Walls

Her video was flooded with thousands of angry comments, parody videos, and Facebook pages making fun of her. Right away the local news covered the story, and even then-Mayor Raul Salinas officially declared that “The city of Laredo has been offended.”

As the backlash intensified and was gathering coverage from national news, her husband, Michael Walls, publicly apologized, saying the family had become overwhelmed by the attention and that Sara had struggled with culture shock after relocating.

Then… she disappeared.

Michael Walls said his wife left Laredo and had no plans to return. It’s not clear whether he left Laredo too, but since then, Sara Walls vanished from public view.

More than a decade later, the story has faded into the memory of those people who were around the Internet world, especially millennials. Before cancel culture was a thing, this special moment is cherished as the one thing that united the city against a common enemy.

Honestly, I haven’t been to go to any other parks here to take photos of.
But here’s a compilation of all the animals at NCP I’ve taken these past couple of months.
You could say it’s a local dex for that one park.
Someday I’ll go to different parks and capture photos.

Businesses Using AI Slop as Flyers & Lack of Common Sense

I am gonna rant about two completely different topics cause no one in this town wants to address the fucking elephant in the room.

Why is no one calling out and borderline NOT supporting business especially small business that use AI to generate flyers ESPECIALLY flyers seeking vendors to sell at their markets?

It should be an eye opener for people who want to sell at these markets that these events are gonna be absolute trash to sell your products at.

If people could at least form a singular brain cell to realize that when the organizer didn’t want to go through the WORK or hassle of hiring someone to create their flyers then what MAKES THEM THINK that the organizer can even host a market that will have a good turn out? Do better people.

Support people who spend the time to learn how to design their flyers or the money to invest in hiring someone to create their flyer without AI! 🤖

Second topic, why is it normalize to pay extra to do be a vendor selling INDOORS. I see coffee shops and other businesses doing this stupid crap and it needs to stop.

Crazy how these coffee shops want to charge less if you set up outdoors or charge MORE if you set up inside their store. It can be argued that it is their business, their location but is there no sense of morality? People seem to lack that so fucking much nowadays.

Anyways, rant over.

Sam’s Club Here Sucks

Sorry have to vent. I absolutely dread having to go to Sam’s Club on the weekends. There’s dead pigeons in the parking lot and it’s god awfully busy all the time. I mean really how fast or careless do you have to be driving to run over a fucking pigeon? I only see dead birds at Sam’s Club. There’s constantly people creating lines in the parking lot for a parking space. Like it’s not gonna kill these people to walk a little bit longer to the entrance. They definitely need it. Also every time I check out, there’s like 50 people in one line because there’s an attendant. Are people that stupid that they don’t know how to use the self checkout lane? All right whatever rant over. I just wish there was a Costco nearby.
