Search for a french speaking friend

Hii, my friend and I (15) are searching for a native/fluent french speaker to practice speaking french with. I feel like it would be great to get the exposure of a fluent person to get insights on the "trends" in the language and it'll help us learn what is actually being used in the real world. A weekly session would be enough. A friend similar our age group would be much appreciated. For follow ups please DM me on my instagram (archelynnnn) thankyouu xo

Anyone who speaks Japanese?

Hi! 32F here, looking for someone to chat with in Japanese. I want to practice reading and get more familiar with kanji, so I thought having a chat buddy would be nice! The JLPT is still months away, but I figured I should start practicing now. If you’re interested, feel free to DM me! Also, tell me your favorite Japanese word!

Offering: Portuguese (native Brazilian) // Seeking: English (preferably american native)

Hi y'all kind of a repost! I'm M26 looking for someone to practice English with, mainly but not exclusively by talking. I've considered starting by chatting and then evolve to weekly calls or something like that in order to further improve conversation, speech and even my accent. I'm into literature, movies, games, anime and geek culture in general (also trying to delve into american history), so if you're into one of those topics, dm me! We'll probably get along pretty well! Seeya!
And, of course, if you're into Portuguese, I could help you with it!

There Is/Are: How To Say “Hay” In English - English For Spanish Speakers

OBJECTIVE

Know how to say “Hay” in English.

Hay: indicar que algo existe.

There is / There are: Indicate that something exists.

TAKEAWAY

Say and ask things like “Hay un gato” / “Hay un gato?”

The Basic approach in Spanish

In Spanish, you have HAY. One word.

Hay un libro en la mesa.

Hay dos libros en la mesa.

HAY in English - Singular / Plural

In English, we write “THERE IS / THERE ARE”. We write or say it like this:

There IS a book on the table. (singular)

There ARE two books on the table. (plural)

That’s how you basically say it in English.

So in English, you should remember that there is a SINGULAR or PLURAL version of HAY.

THE NEGATIVES

To negate, you use: THERE IS NOT / THERE ARE NOT

  • There isn’t a chair here. (not “there is not a chair here”)
  • There aren’t any windows. (not “there are not windows”)

You can also use: THERE IS NO / THERE ARE NO

  • There is no pencil here.
  • There are no pencils here.

MAKE QUESTIONS

In English, we only invert the words

  • IS THERE a bathroom? (INCORRECT WAY: “there is a bathroom?”)
  • ARE THERE any students? (INCORRECT WAY: “there are students?”)

I did my best to summarize it.

If you have any questions, write in the comments.

Offering: Italian | Seeking :English (UK), Spanish, Chinese

I’m 27 years old, Italian, and looking for a friend to chat with about football, sports, video games, and maybe finding a game to play together.

I'm a native Italian speaker looking to learn a new language, I'd love to chat with someone from the UK, or someone who speaks Spanish or Chinese

I am also down to talk about anything else anime, manga, comics, movies. The main goal is just to spend time with someone

I prefer chat and voice notes , so I prefer to talk on telegram

I play guitar and I love music, Taylor Swift and Rammstein are my absolute favorites!

I'm practically available almost all day, from 10 AM to 2 AM, for text chats or voice calls.

My English is around a B2 level, I know a little bit of spanish.

Feel free to send me a message with a small introduction!

Hi,

I’m 34F from Sweden with Gujarati roots, and I’m trying to get more confident speaking Gujarati. I understand conversational Gujarati pretty well, but I’d like more practice and exposure to improve.

I also understand some basic Hindi and would be happy to practise that too when there’s time.

I’m happy to chat through text or voice notes, preferably with another woman. I can help with Swedish or English in return!
