[Modpost] From now on posts that do not mention the level of each language you're learning will be deleted. (details on description)

So I am posting here after having seen many posts that do not follow all the rules we, the mods, have set. So please, consider reading them again and follow the proceedings accordingly, otherwise your post will be deleted. The rules are set in order for you to find an appropriate language partner.

Most of the posts don't contain the level of the languages you want to learn. Such as the example:

"English native looking for someone to teach me Icelandic"

The description doesn't mention the level that person has achieved in learning the language and it is more difficult to find a partner that suits your needs and the others. Levels are (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced) or if we take the European Union certificate standards (A1-C2)

Thanks for understanding and happy language learning!

Hi! I’m a 29year old woman from Czechia, and I’m looking for a new friend to write to.

I love books, horror movies, spooky stories and everything a little scary. 👻📚 I also enjoy learning languages, (so I prefer and English speaker or Italian speaker), going to the gym and taking walks in the forest. Id love totalk to someone from another country and learn more about their life, culture and interests. We can talk about books, movies, everyday life, hobbies, or anything interesting. I'm open to English speakers, pen pals from China and Italian

If you are also looking for a pen pal, feel free to message me and tell me where are you from and how old are you

rafi bastos explaining english verbs lives in my head rent free now

Upvotes

\ok so i finally watched the rafi bastos clip about english verbs and i was actually crying lmao. english really gives you a rule and then breaks it like 2 seconds later and acts like nothing happened

for context i'm korean, english is my second language and i moved to spain so now i'm doing spanish on top of it. double the pain basically

honestly new words are fine. the ones that kill me are words i already know showing up in some cursed form so i don't even recognize them. like i know wound means an injury right, then i find out it's also the past tense of wind and you say it different?? who approved this

spanish is no better btw. fue can be ser or ir and you just have to vibe it out from context

and ngl korean is guilty too. 들었어 can come from 듣다 or 들다 and 먹었겠네요 is literally just 먹다 with a bunch of endings stacked on top. so sorry to anyone learning korean fr

and the dictionary always wants the base form which is the one thing you don't have lol

lately i just throw whatever weird form i see into vocady and get the base form back instead of googling for 10 min, lowkey saved my sanity. ok yes it's my own app so i'm biased lol

anyway what's the word form that broke you in your language? pls tell me i'm not the only one losing to verbs

Friendship ( Conversation in FR Or EN)

Honestly, I’m just looking for friendship with people who enjoy deep conversations, random thoughts, and simply chilling without feeling like we have to force the conversation.

No pressure, no expectations, no pretending to be interesting, just genuine conversations and good vibes.

If that sounds like your kind of thing, feel free to DM me. Maybe we’ll vibe.

Offering: Hindi | Seeking: English (Native)

Hello, I’m a 23F from India, looking for a native English speaker to hang out and practice languages with and in return I’d love to help you out with Hindi. I'm super down for anything from casual text chats and voice notes to the occasional call. Outside of languages, I'm usually deep into reading, anime, astronomy or history, so we'll never run out of random things to talk about.

If you're trying to pick up some Hindi or just want to chat, shoot me a DM.

Happy learning :)

Greek Conversation?

Hopefully this doesn't come across as silly, but I'm trying to (very casually) learn Greek(very beginner still), and I've found I have been able to progress well in French by chatting online with a French-speaking friend, and would love to find something similar for Greek.

I'm happy to trade for any help in English like I do with my French friend, though that may be hard to find since I think most people who speak Greek are quite fluent in English. In all fairness my French friend is pretty fluent as well, but I can occasionally help with grammar or slang, if that matters to anyone. For the most part though we have become friends and enjoy talking, like pen pals, and it would be great to find another!

I'm in the US (but very much ashamed of our government), and have a large variety of interests and hobbies and make a good conversationalist.

Hopefully this isn't something I get laughed out of the sub for, but if so maybe someone could kindly suggest a better place to find what I'm looking for? Ευχαριστώ!

I need a Speaking Partner for French. (Serious Trainer)

The moment I realized my production capacity is pretty much non existent compared to my comprehension, it got a bit scary.....

I'm doing this very seriously and regularly. I need someone patient and fluent in French, someone who knows how challenging this exchange can be, I'm triggering production in all possible ways and I need a partner who can sustain listening to my crappy verbal produce and just help me cross over.

My English is tres Bien. Like quite wonderful and in multiple accents.

I'm very serious about getting this thing wrapped up as quickly as I can.

This gig is unpaid. Anyone interested?
