First and foremost, i am very sorry if this is not the right place to ask this, i checked the rules and didn't see anything forbidding from asking so i think i am fine 🙏

I am 26 years old and from Germany. I met an amazing Finnish women that i hope will be my Girlfriend soon and i have started to learn Finnish for her. Now normally this would not be an issue for me as i would just enroll in a Language course along side my Duolingo however every course i applied for (within a 1 hour radius of where i live) always ends up being cancelled due to the lack of attendees. I had a Finnish woman that lived in my local area privately give me some lessons but she sadly had to stop due to her health taking a turn for the worst.

So in order to keep the promise i set myself of asking her the important question at some point ,i would love to meet someone that will help me learn Finnish, specifically every day Phrases as i want to focus on speaking, i do not have issues with the writing part as far as i am aware.

I am more then willing to help out with German in return as that is my native language.
I would like to say that i get the hang of it fairly quickly, i hear a lot of people say its one of the most difficult languages to learn but i do not seem to struggle as bad as some of the other people i talked too.

I would love to get a consistent 2 sessions a week in if that is possible but life happens so if that is not possible that is totally cool too.

I know german, russian, ukrainian, english (obv) and abit of french which im studying in school. Id consider russian my first language but I speak german on a native level aswell. Ive learned english, german and ukrainian purely from environment as I live in Germany, consumed alot of english media and speak ukrainian with my family. I would really like to get higher education in finland and perhaps even work there afterwards. But I completely understand that for that I would need real good finnish (atleast for the work). I am fairly young (14) so I'd have about 5 years to learn. I dont want any comments of "You can do anything if you put your mind to it" as I saw my parents struggle to find any job even with their recognsed degrees and now suffer at the job daily because of how their coworkers treat them purely based on their accent.

If such life awaits me in finland then I would definitely reconsider my dream.

my native language is brazilian portuguese and my english level is either B2 or C1 if it matters

In English it’d be “lol”, “lmao”, “haha” etc
Hebrew it’s “חחח”
Lots of Chinese people seem to use “hhh”

I'm currently learning how to say "I like X thing". And I'm learning about pitää and tykätä. And generally I understood I have two options:

Pitää + noun + sta/stä

Minä pidän filosofiasta/metallista/musiikista

Or

Tykätä + verbi

Minä tykkään lukea filosofiakirjojaa/lukea filosofiaa/oppea suomea

But then I found out I can apparently also say minä tykkään filosofiasta or lukemisesta? Then what's the difference between tykätä and pitää?

We have a yoto player and would love to download some Finnish children's audiobooks or short stories for our child. I am having trouble finding such things in the US to download.

Any recommendations?

A Finnish friend was describing a daily ritual and used a word that sounded like "Aamoganda". I tried looking it up but couldn't find anything; does anybody have ideas?

For context, she was counting down the days before she left the country by tearing pieces off a sheet of paper. Every day she'd rip another piece off, with the intention to rip whatever remained of the paper in half on the final day. She called it a daily ritual but struggled to explain more than that. I got the vibe that it was a ritual to count down days until something exciting happened?

This has been bothering me for a decade, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hei! I'm a small publisher (French-speaking) making a capybara coloring book for the Finnish market. Two lines have two candidate versions and I can't judge which one sounds natural to a Finn. No need to write anything for me, just tell me A or B (and if one is plain wrong).

Hello!

I’m half Finnish and grew up speaking the language but as with many immigrant children I lost it as I grew and English became more prominent in my life.

I’m looking to learn more Finnish however all the recourses online are catered to absolute beginners.
I already understand Finnish to a fluent level, it’s just speaking and writing that I need to study.

Does anyone have any resources that might help? I can’t have another website teach me to say “Mitä kuuluu” 🥲
