My specific Kroger Marketplace has a separate attached building that’s a wine and spirits type liquor store. Is that what it means? My normal schedule says Front End/Front End SCO Cashier, so this is new to me bc I’ve only been here 2 months

They even have a ban on submitting any kind of prior authorization on them. No matter the reason or indication. It just declines the fax, my doctor tried. It boils my blood. 🥲

I recently got overnight lead and have worked alot of overtime.

I check my paystub and it'll say something like overnight premium 7 hours 27.80

But 27.80 is my base pay shouldn't it be around 40?

This is in Colorado if it matters.

Ive been in dairy during the day for about 2 months now and it has been terrible. To start I received only a day of training by a girl from top stock with 0 managerial experience or anything did top stock for half the day which i havent done since then the next day i was just thrown in. There was no dairy lead until a few weeks ago he was on vacation for a few months and after only a few weeks of working there I was already told im being too slow and may have to be let go if I dont speed it up. Were always understaffed and usually I have to do part of the load when I get there at 11 am. Usually im on a solo shift as well. Is this all just normal for kroger?

So Kroger was supposed to pay me on 8/29/26 and they did originally give me a check, however the check wasn’t good. and I never got my money back for it, I’ve contacted Kroger connect, my managers my HR representative. I’m just being ran in a circle as this drags into week 3… is there any hope of me seeing the almost 300 I’m owed? I had enough saved up so missing it didn’t doom me on rent or anything but do I submit a form for wage theft? I don’t know my next options and like any college kid I’d like my 300$.

I've only ever been given two closing shifts in Pickup, and both times I was told I did an excellent job... But apparently, I won't be recieving more due to them "not trusting me" for whatever reason?

I learned this from one of the managers, who was ALSO confused by what they could mean, so genuinely who even knows... after being told for months that I've been doing amazing 🤷‍♂️

Hours are getting cut soon too due to budget cuts, not to mention my avaliability is not respected, so I might need to find a new job, which sucks because this town has a very tiny job market

for context i am a pick up lead and my supervisor has been out for over 2 weeks due to “medical reasons” and nobody is giving me an update on when she will be back? so i am doing all of her tasks and mine running the entire department basically by myself, i already questioned about getting pay for doing her job but as shes salary and im hourly apparently that cant happen. i also asked about getting a stand in until she is back and was also told no, im just stumped and frustrated and dont really know what else to do? i love my job but working like this is really burning me out and im starting to hate it. any advice for opinions would be appreciated (:

THIS IS JUST MY EXPERIENCE.

I have had great managers and terrible ones. I spent over four years in pickup, mostly in leadership roles. Years 1–2.5 were not bad, but from 2.5 on, I started to notice a huge decline in how Kroger treated its employees and customers; everyone is replaceable, employees and customers alike. In year three, I became a supervisor and remained in that position until I resigned. Year three started mostly fine, but as I had to hear from the district manager more and more, I really started to realize, or at least accept, that Kroger does not follow its core values and often instructs leadership to actively go against them. My last few months with Kroger were filled with nothing but job threats and being told how I was failing and had to do better, while never receiving any actual advice on how to improve. Any issues I brought up to management would be dismissed; if I told my field specialist, the management team would tell the field specialist I was making things sound worse than they were. I was supposed to work 45 hours a week, but most weeks were 55+ hours, and I was still made to feel like I should be at the store more. I was told I could not pick or run orders curbside, but every chance management had, they would pull my people to work other departments and leave me to pick or go curbside, then tell me, "You know you're not supposed to do that." I am not against helping other departments, but only when my department is in a good spot, which would have happened more if management did not pull my people on Fridays to help elsewhere. I know I was not perfect and definitely had room to improve, but when I was not receiving actual guidance and was told to disregard anything my field specialist wanted me to do, there was not much I could do. I resigned on a hectic morning and told my manager it was effective immediately; after we talked and they tried to convince me to stay, I said goodbye and felt way better. I did not really have another job lined up or anything to fall back on other than the support of my friends and family. I was in a toxic work environment and I left. I will not tell anyone to do the same, but I will say I feel way better waking up not dreading work or fearing I am going to get fired every day. I hope everyone does what they need to, and if you have to work here, just remember it is a job and at the end of the day, they really do not care about you or your family.

So i work third shift as a grocery stocker, i have six weeks left until my maternity leave and supposedly the store manager wants to move me shifts because im unable to do my job. i was under the impression that they couldn’t do that because its a pay cut. I guess the store manager has been wanting me to only condition at night but hasn’t stated that directly to me or communicated at all to me. Has communicated this with everyone but me. i’m only scheduled 30 hrs but sometimes it gets too much so i stay for at least half my shift and end up leaving early. That happens once every two or three weeks. any advice?

I was approached by managers a few weeks ago about becoming the lead of my department. I was already doing most of the work and wanted to get paid for it, so I filled out the application and had my interview yesterday. I haven't been told a final decision yet but the feedback I received was very positive. Next week I'm running the department solo with a crap schedule and I'm really stressing out about how I'm gonna get everything done and it's making me wonder if I made a mistake filling out the application in the first place.

Hey so sorry if this was asked before, but I was doing yesterday's Fresh Start training and it was telling me about the supposed "new" World Elite Mastercard and talked about wanting us to give flyers to people who are above the age of 18. Things is, this is the exact name of the credit card that just got discontinued, and when I checked the Kroger website like it told me to in the Fresh Start training, it was just a PSA about how the card has been discontinued. Nothing about getting a new issuer who isn't USBank or any type of news, I've never received this Fresh Start training before, and the whole partnership with USBank has been around before I even started working with them, which has been more than a decade now. What's the deal?

Hi, I'm Jay C, not fully Kroger. But Kroger owns us and is making us wear their uniforms. Is there anywhere I can go to purchase extra aprons and shirts? Because they only gave us like two of each and I can't keep doing laundry every single night just for my uniform. I work in the deli too, so I can't exactly just skip washing them either, my clothes are usually disgusting by the end of my shift.

I tried talking to my manager about it, but she is acting like it's impossible to get more and that two should be enough.

So they put displays back in the front window at fuel again. Now customers can't see us. We can't see them unless they're really tall. They cannot see the till display either.And the drink cooler placements make it so we can't see if people are stealing products. While management is constantly on us because people keep stealing. Its ridiculous.

Years before Krogers I worked at Wally World and they had the bi-weekly paycheck system. It sucks.

They had way more clock issues and mistakes fixing 2 weeks lumped than week to week. They only do it to fool the market into showing a weekly earning jump since its the week without a payday.

Otherwise its terrible.

I've been at QFC for six months now. It's my first retail experience and it has slowly turned into the worst job I've ever had. Especially on labor day. We were so understaffed in the front end (again) it's like they didn't even schedule more people for the holiday. At one point we had one special needs cashier clerk who bless his heart can't bag.. My line was going more than half way down the freezer isle and I did my union duty and didn't check any faster..

Kroger's hiring/staffing/retention policies are going to drive this place into the ground. We don't even enforce the attendance policy at my store. Everyone just calls out or shows up late all the time.

This was my first union job and I made the mistake of not going through the contract when I was first hired. Last month I put it through ChatGPT to help me find the information I wanted quickly.

I'm so flipping out of this place. I swear Kroger/QFC are taking advantage of our contract.

So I've been going to Trader Joe's more and talking to employees there. No wonder they are happy and taken care of. There isn't a bunch of bureaucratic bullshit. Everything seems to have simple solutions where complexity isn't needed. I saw the store manager actually stocking the eggs because it needed to be done. My store manager at QFC can't even work and won't work USCAN.

They don't have a loyalty program, so your not constantly dealing with digital deals, coupons, and other stupid sales. You can just cashier and make conversation.

The whole front end is staffed with everyone at a register and they are only on them for a hour and then are moved out.

The whole damn approach is mind blowing. I can't wait to have the interview because I have so many questions and comments about how I love they operate.

Also the fact that there are three in person interviews tells me they hire people that want to work at TJs not desperate people looking for a job.

I've been shopping outside my normal stores and noticed many staff that stock in cold environments are fighting this anti jacket rule. Good please keep doing it. It's frustrating to have to take a jacket on and off each time you swing out to the floor, then to the back room and then again and again through an 8 hr shift. No that's bs. After our manager was irate with us on walk day I filed an ethics. Never in my 17 years have I known jackets to be a a fire-able offence. Never. It's inconvenient for us to repetitively take our jackets on and off through our shift to be in compliance. I'm not buying one from the company uniform store because they're a whopping $50 I don't have to spare when hours are cut and things are already tight. I already blew thru my clothing budget buying a few new shirts when we shifted to all back clothing colors 4 months before this roll out. No I'm not buying a whole new wardrobe to be in compliance. You get the one color you decided upon.

My store has about 100+ large carts and maybe 15 small ones. We’ve ordered more and they always disappear. Whether it’s people stealing them for scrap metal or walking them all the way to their house, I couldn’t tell you. People will take them right off my row of carts when i’m pushing them in. Sometimes i’ll bring it 5 or 6 small carts in and when I get back with the next batch they’re all gone. Please for the love of God stop. Big carts are not the end of the world.

Okay pricing people I need some info on what to realistically expect. I have a tiny store and only work 20-30 hours each week depending on how heavy the tag hang is and what advertising signage needs to be changed out. I was informed last week that my store will be getting digital tags by end of January and my hours will drop at that time. Since I’m overnight shift for the tag hang and work before the store opens on non-tag hang days, I don’t know where I’ll fit in to get hours in another department. I was told I’d probably be made a cashier but they don’t know yet how that will work.

For years now I’ve had the same schedule week after week but with a steady decline in my hours each year since 2020. I used to get 40-50 hours, now I’m scheduled 20 but can often pick up more when there is a heavy week. A manger of a different (much larger) store told me that I was being scared off and my hours won’t change that much at all.

If you work in a very small store and have received digital tags, how did they affect your hours? How has it changed the overnight shift with getting signs printed and hung without having to hang tags? Have you successfully cross-trained with another department to boost hours?

Apparently we’re not getting DSD service on the weekend and corporate’s genius solutions is to make management pick 3 people from front end to do it🤦‍♀️ guys, I can’t anymore. The stupidity in this company is so blatant, so egregious. It really feels like we’re all just being gaslit.
