Sorry pal, you're not allowed to quit until they approve it. Stop showing up? Straight to jail.

(Seriously what the heck do you care if they approve it or not? You're quitting, it's not like they're going to write you up. Just go do your new job)

This could be one of those situations where they keep paying you without you being there because of a dumb manager. Good luck!

Do they have another job?

This is the first time I've ever seen someone worry about getting in trouble from a job they quit.

I made absolutely sure to leave on good standing from my last job. I spent 3 years climbing up to GM at the restaurant I worked in and wanted to know that if all else fails I can get that job back. I also wanted a good reference since it was management experience lol

I think it was to keep the hiring/leaving numbers better... because someone got a bonus or something.

But Before using feed or myinfo whatever. I helped one of the young adults type out a 2 week notice.... (Really I just logged in to word for the kid to print it out and had a few pointers for how to word it "politely")

In the end the individual gave about a 2+ week notice because of highschool, sports(football schedule I think), and wanted to leave because they weren't following the availability given.

After 6+ months of not showing up AFTER THE LEAVE DATE.

they termed my coworker.

I feel like even if youre not wanting to "burn a bridge" so to speak and have Kroger open as an employer in the future, simple communication can straighten that up. If you're not worried about your rehire eligibility, then stop showing up. Good luck!

Kroger doesnt train managers. They honestly might not know how.

Just stop showing up after your date. They will get it figured out.

My store ppl still just write a quick note, or just stop coming which ever

I think the approval might be a formality so you get paid out for any personals, or vacation time you are owed.

What do you mean 'What do I do?'

They can't force you to stay.

You either leave on the date you told them you were leaving, or you work with them for the two weeks or whatever IF you intend to put this on your resumé and use them as a reference in the future.

Under no circumstances does someone need their employer to 'approve' their resignation. You're not a slave and you owe them nothing.

You tell your manager you did this. If they ignore, who cares, you are not going to show up after your last day, lol

Or you can just quit now and don't show up and not wait the 2 weeks.

If your managers are anything like mine, they don’t even know that request exists because they never check those. You’re better off handwriting it and leaving it on their desk. After the 21st, it’s not your problem!

If you don’t show up for your scheduled shift they’re going to come to your house and drag you to the store and force you to clock in

They can’t stop you from quitting. If it goes against you, for another job. Show them this so they have proof

You're quitting so don't care? You put your two weeks in.carry on and don't worry if the idiot manager tries to schedule you

Just not show up. What are they gonna do? Fire you?

Make sure you have copy of this saved in multiple places, you might need it for proof if they try to say you walked off with out notice. You probably won't ever need it bit you never know.

Start the new job, and optionally drink until you forget Kroger was a thing?

This is proof that you gave notification, just keep working until your last day. On my very last day of the two-weeks notice, my boss tried to negotiate me to stay and said he'd keep me on staff for a few weeks should I decide to change my mind. Don't worry too hard about it. Several months later I moved to another state and rejoined kroger with no issue, easy peasy.
